ਜਿਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੇ ਆਏ ਪਰਵਾਨ
जिन संतन जानिआ तू ठाकुर ते आए परवान ॥
Jin sanṯan jāni▫ā ṯū ṯẖākur ṯe ā▫e parvān.
Those Saints who know You, O Lord and Master - blessed and approved is their coming into the world.

ਜਨ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੨॥੪੧॥੬੪॥
जन का संगु पाईऐ वडभागी नानक संतन कै कुरबान ॥२॥४१॥६४॥
Jan kā sang pā▫ī▫ai vadbẖāgī Nānak sanṯan kai kurbān. ||2||41||64||
The Congregation of those humble beings is obtained by great good fortune; Nanak is a sacrifice to the Saints. ||2||41||64||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਕਰਹੁ ਗਤਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮੋਰੀ
करहु गति दइआल संतहु मोरी ॥
Karahu gaṯ ḏa▫i▫āl sanṯahu morī.
Save me, O Merciful Saint!

ਤੁਮ ਸਮਰਥ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਤੂਟੀ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜੋਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
तुम समरथ कारन करना तूटी तुम ही जोरी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧum samrath kāran karnā ṯūtī ṯum hī jorī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
You are the All-powerful Cause of causes. You have ended my separation, and joined me with God. ||1||Pause||

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਬਿਖਈ ਤੁਮ ਤਾਰੇ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ਪਾਈ
जनम जनम के बिखई तुम तारे सुमति संगि तुमारै पाई ॥
Janam janam ke bikẖ▫ī ṯum ṯāre sumaṯ sang ṯumārai pā▫ī.
You save us from the corruption and sins of countless incarnations; associating with You, we obtain sublime understanding.

ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈ ॥੧॥
अनिक जोनि भ्रमते प्रभ बिसरत सासि सासि हरि गाई ॥१॥
Anik jon bẖaramṯe parabẖ bisraṯ sās sās har gā▫ī. ||1||
Forgetting God, we wandered through countless incarnations; with each and every breath, we sing the Lord's Praises. ||1||

ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੈ ਤੇ ਤੇ ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ
जो जो संगि मिले साधू कै ते ते पतित पुनीता ॥
Jo jo sang mile sāḏẖū kai ṯe ṯe paṯiṯ punīṯā.
Whoever meets with the Holy Saints - those sinners are sanctified.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤਾ ॥੨॥੪੨॥੬੫॥
कहु नानक जा के वडभागा तिनि जनमु पदारथु जीता ॥२॥४२॥६५॥
Kaho Nānak jā ke vadbẖāgā ṯin janam paḏārath jīṯā. ||2||42||65||
Says Nanak, those who have such high destiny, win this invaluable human life. ||2||42||65||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਜਨੁ ਆਇਓ
ठाकुर बिनती करन जनु आइओ ॥
Ŧẖākur binṯī karan jan ā▫i▫o.
O my Lord and Master, Your humble servant has come to offer this prayer.

ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਸਹਜ ਰਸ ਸੁਨਤ ਤੁਹਾਰੋ ਨਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
सरब सूख आनंद सहज रस सुनत तुहारो नाइओ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sarab sūkẖ ānanḏ sahj ras sunaṯ ṯuhāro nā▫i▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Hearing Your Name, I am blessed with total peace, bliss, poise and pleasure. ||1||Pause||

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੂਖ ਕੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਜਸੁ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਛਾਇਓ
क्रिपा निधान सूख के सागर जसु सभ महि जा को छाइओ ॥
Kirpā niḏẖān sūkẖ ke sāgar jas sabẖ mėh jā ko cẖẖā▫i▫o.
The Treasure of Mercy, the Ocean of Peace - His Praises are diffused everywhere.

ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਰੰਗ ਤੁਮ ਕੀਏ ਅਪਨਾ ਆਪੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
संतसंगि रंग तुम कीए अपना आपु द्रिसटाइओ ॥१॥
Saṯsang rang ṯum kī▫e apnā āp ḏaristā▫i▫o. ||1||
O Lord, You celebrate in the Society of the Saints; You reveal Yourself to them. ||1||

ਨੈਨਹੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਚਰਨ ਝਾਰੀ ਕੇਸਾਇਓ
नैनहु संगि संतन की सेवा चरन झारी केसाइओ ॥
Nainhu sang sanṯan kī sevā cẖaran jẖārī kesā▫i▫o.
With my eyes I see the Saints, and dedicate myself to serving them; I wash their feet with my hair.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੪੩॥੬੬॥
आठ पहर दरसनु संतन का सुखु नानक इहु पाइओ ॥२॥४३॥६६॥
Āṯẖ pahar ḏarsan sanṯan kā sukẖ Nānak ih pā▫i▫o. ||2||43||66||
Twenty-four hours a day, I gaze upon the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of the Saints; this is the peace and comfort which Nanak has received. ||2||43||66||

ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ
सारग महला ५ ॥

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਾ ਕੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ
जा की राम नाम लिव लागी ॥
Jā kī rām nām liv lāgī.
One who is lovingly absorbed in the Lord's Name

ਸਜਨੁ ਸੁਰਿਦਾ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੋ ਕਹੀਐ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
सजनु सुरिदा सुहेला सहजे सो कहीऐ बडभागी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sajan suriḏā suhelā sėhje so kahī▫ai badbẖāgī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
is a good-hearted friend, intuitively embellished with happiness. He is said to be blessed and fortunate. ||1||Pause||

ਰਹਿਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਅਲਪ ਮਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਤਿਆਗੀ
रहित बिकार अलप माइआ ते अह्मबुधि बिखु तिआगी ॥
Rahiṯ bikār alap mā▫i▫ā ṯe ahaʼn▫buḏẖ bikẖ ṯi▫āgī.
He is rid of sin and corruption, and detached from Maya; he has renounced the poison of egotistical intellect.

ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਆਸ ਏਕਹਿ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਹੀਐਂ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪਾਗੀ ॥੧॥
दरस पिआस आस एकहि की टेक हीऐं प्रिअ पागी ॥१॥
Ḏaras pi▫ās ās ekėh kī tek hī▫aiʼn pari▫a pāgī. ||1||
He thirsts for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, and he places his hopes in the One Lord alone. The Feet of his Beloved are the Support of his heart. ||1||

ਅਚਿੰਤ ਸੋਇ ਜਾਗਨੁ ਉਠਿ ਬੈਸਨੁ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਹਸਤ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ
अचिंत सोइ जागनु उठि बैसनु अचिंत हसत बैरागी ॥
Acẖinṯ so▫e jāgan uṯẖ baisan acẖinṯ hasaṯ bairāgī.
He sleeps, wakes, rises up and sits down without anxiety; he laughs and cries without anxiety.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਠਗਾਨਾ ਸੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਠਾਗੀ ॥੨॥੪੪॥੬੭॥
कहु नानक जिनि जगतु ठगाना सु माइआ हरि जन ठागी ॥२॥४४॥६७॥
Kaho Nānak jin jagaṯ ṯẖagānā so mā▫i▫ā har jan ṯẖāgī. ||2||44||67||
Says Nanak, she who has cheated the world - that Maya is cheated by the humble servant of the Lord. ||2||44||67||

ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ
सारग महला ५ ॥

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਬ ਜਨ ਊਪਰਿ ਕੋ ਪੁਕਾਰੈ
अब जन ऊपरि को न पुकारै ॥
Ab jan ūpar ko na pukārai.
Now, no one complains about the Lord's humble servant.

ਪੂਕਾਰਨ ਕਉ ਜੋ ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਮਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
पूकारन कउ जो उदमु करता गुरु परमेसरु ता कउ मारै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Pūkāran ka▫o jo uḏam karṯā gur parmesar ṯā ka▫o mārai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Whoever tries to complain is destroyed by the Guru, the Transcendent Lord God. ||1||Pause||

ਨਿਰਵੈਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਵੈਰੁ ਰਚਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਓਹੁ ਹਾਰੈ
निरवैरै संगि वैरु रचावै हरि दरगह ओहु हारै ॥
Nirvairai sang vair racẖāvai har ḏargėh oh hārai.
Whoever harbors vengeance against the One who is beyond all vengeance, shall lose in the Court of the Lord.

ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
आदि जुगादि प्रभ की वडिआई जन की पैज सवारै ॥१॥
Āḏ jugāḏ parabẖ kī vadi▫ā▫ī jan kī paij savārai. ||1||
From the very beginning of time, and throughout the ages, it is the glorious greatness of God, that He preserves the honor of His humble servants. ||1||

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਸਗਲ ਭਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਆਧਾਰੈ
निरभउ भए सगल भउ मिटिआ चरन कमल आधारै ॥
Nirbẖa▫o bẖa▫e sagal bẖa▫o miti▫ā cẖaran kamal āḏẖārai.
The mortal becomes fearless, and all his fears are taken away, when he leans on the Support of the Lord's Lotus Feet.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਨਾਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਇਓ ਸੰਸਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੪੫॥੬੮॥
गुर कै बचनि जपिओ नाउ नानक प्रगट भइओ संसारै ॥२॥४५॥६८॥
Gur kai bacẖan japi▫o nā▫o Nānak pargat bẖa▫i▫o sansārai. ||2||45||68||
Chanting the Name, through the Guru's Word, Nanak has become famous throughout the world. ||2||45||68||

ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ
सारग महला ५ ॥

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਸਗਲਾ ਆਪੁ
हरि जन छोडिआ सगला आपु ॥
Har jan cẖẖodi▫ā saglā āp.
The Lord's humble servant has discarded all self-conceit.

ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਰਖਹੁ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जिउ जानहु तिउ रखहु गुसाई पेखि जीवां परतापु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ji▫o jānhu ṯi▫o rakẖahu gusā▫ī pekẖ jīvāʼn parṯāp. ||1|| rahā▫o.
As You see fit, You save us, O Lord of the World. Beholding Your Glorious Grandeur, I live. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ
गुर उपदेसि साध की संगति बिनसिओ सगल संतापु ॥
Gur upḏes sāḏẖ kī sangaṯ binsi▫o sagal sanṯāp.
Through the Guru's Instruction, and the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, all sorrow and suffering is taken away.

ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੇਖਿ ਸਮਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਭਾਖਨ ਜਾਪੁ ॥੧॥
मित्र सत्र पेखि समतु बीचारिओ सगल स्मभाखन जापु ॥१॥
Miṯar saṯar pekẖ samaṯ bīcẖāri▫o sagal sambẖākẖan jāp. ||1||
I look upon friend and enemy alike; all that I speak is the Lord's meditation. ||1||

ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਸੀਤਲ ਆਘਾਨੇ ਸੁਨਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਬਿਸਮ ਭਏ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ
तपति बुझी सीतल आघाने सुनि अनहद बिसम भए बिसमाद ॥
Ŧapaṯ bujẖī sīṯal āgẖāne sun anhaḏ bisam bẖa▫e bismāḏ.
The fire within me is quenched; I am cool, calm and tranquil. Hearing the unstruck celestial melody, I am wonder-struck and amazed.

ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰੇ ਨਾਦ ॥੨॥੪੬॥੬੯॥
अनदु भइआ नानक मनि साचा पूरन पूरे नाद ॥२॥४६॥६९॥
Anaḏ bẖa▫i▫ā Nānak man sācẖā pūran pūre nāḏ. ||2||46||69||
I am in ecstasy, O Nanak, and my mind is filled with Truth, through the perfect perfection of the Sound-current of the Naad. ||2||46||69||
