ਪੂਛਉ ਪੂਛਉ ਦੀਨ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਊ ਕਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਦੇਸਾਂਗਿਓ ॥
पूछउ पूछउ दीन भांति करि कोऊ कहै प्रिअ देसांगिओ ॥
Pūcẖẖa▫o pūcẖẖa▫o ḏīn bẖāʼnṯ kar ko▫ū kahai pari▫a ḏesāʼngi▫o.
I ask and ask, with humility, "Who can tell me which country my Husband Lord lives in?"

ਹੀਂਓੁ ਦੇਂਉ ਸਭੁ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਸੀਸੁ ਚਰਣ ਪਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਓ ॥੨॥
हींओ देंउ सभु मनु तनु अरपउ सीसु चरण परि राखिओ ॥२॥
Hīʼn▫o ḏeʼn▫u sabẖ man ṯan arpa▫o sīs cẖaraṇ par rākẖi▫o. ||2||
I would dedicate my heart to him, I offer my mind and body and everything; I place my head at his feet. ||2||

ਚਰਣ ਬੰਦਨਾ ਅਮੋਲ ਦਾਸਰੋ ਦੇਂਉ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਅਰਦਾਗਿਓ ॥
चरण बंदना अमोल दासरो देंउ साधसंगति अरदागिओ ॥
Cẖaraṇ banḏnā amol ḏāsro ḏeʼn▫u sāḏẖsangaṯ arḏāgi▫o.
I bow at the feet of the voluntary slave of the Lord; I beg him to bless me with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਾਗਿਓ ॥੩॥
करहु क्रिपा मोहि प्रभू मिलावहु निमख दरसु पेखागिओ ॥३॥
Karahu kirpā mohi parabẖū milāvhu nimakẖ ḏaras pekẖāgi▫o. ||3||
Show Mercy to me, that I may meet God, and gaze upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan every moment. ||3||

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਭਈ ਤਬ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਆਇਓ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸੀਤਲਾਗਿਓ ॥
द्रिसटि भई तब भीतरि आइओ मेरा मनु अनदिनु सीतलागिओ ॥
Ḏarisat bẖa▫ī ṯab bẖīṯar ā▫i▫o merā man an▫ḏin sīṯlāgi▫o.
When He is Kind to me, He comes to dwell within my being. Night and day, my mind is calm and peaceful.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਸਿ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਏ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਬਾਜਿਓ ॥੪॥੫॥
कहु नानक रसि मंगल गाए सबदु अनाहदु बाजिओ ॥४॥५॥
Kaho Nānak ras mangal gā▫e sabaḏ anāhaḏ bāji▫o. ||4||5||
Says Nanak, I sing the Songs of Joy; the Unstruck Word of the Shabad resounds within me. ||4||5||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਾਈ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਾਧਾ ॥
माई सति सति सति हरि सति सति सति साधा ॥
Mā▫ī saṯ saṯ saṯ har saṯ saṯ saṯ sāḏẖā.
O mother, True, True, True is the Lord, and True, True, True is His Holy Saint.

ਬਚਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੋ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਹਿਓ ਮੈ ਛੀਕਿ ਗਾਂਠਰੀ ਬਾਧਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बचनु गुरू जो पूरै कहिओ मै छीकि गांठरी बाधा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bacẖan gurū jo pūrai kahi▫o mai cẖẖīk gāʼnṯẖrī bāḏẖā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Word which the Perfect Guru has spoken, I have tied to my robe. ||1||Pause||

ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਨਖਿਅਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਵਿ ਸਸੀਅਰ ਬੇਨਾਧਾ ॥
निसि बासुर नखिअत्र बिनासी रवि ससीअर बेनाधा ॥
Nis bāsur nakẖi▫aṯar bināsī rav sasī▫ar benāḏẖā.
Night and day, and the stars in the sky shall vanish. The sun and the moon shall vanish.

ਗਿਰਿ ਬਸੁਧਾ ਜਲ ਪਵਨ ਜਾਇਗੋ ਇਕਿ ਸਾਧ ਬਚਨ ਅਟਲਾਧਾ ॥੧॥
गिरि बसुधा जल पवन जाइगो इकि साध बचन अटलाधा ॥१॥
Gir basuḏẖā jal pavan jā▫igo ik sāḏẖ bacẖan atlāḏẖā. ||1||
The mountains, the earth, the water and the air shall pass away. Only the Word of the Holy Saint shall endure. ||1||
|
ਅੰਡ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਜੇਰ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਉਤਭੁਜ ਸੇਤ ਬਿਨਾਧਾ ॥
अंड बिनासी जेर बिनासी उतभुज सेत बिनाधा ॥
And bināsī jer bināsī uṯ▫bẖuj seṯ bināḏẖā.
Those born of eggs shall pass away, and those born of the womb shall pass away. Those born of the earth and sweat shall pass away as well.

ਚਾਰਿ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਖਟਹਿ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਇਕਿ ਸਾਧ ਬਚਨ ਨਿਹਚਲਾਧਾ ॥੨॥
चारि बिनासी खटहि बिनासी इकि साध बचन निहचलाधा ॥२॥
Cẖār bināsī kẖatėh bināsī ik sāḏẖ bacẖan nihcẖalāḏẖā. ||2||
The four Vedas shall pass away, and the six Shaastras shall pass away. Only the Word of the Holy Saint is eternal. ||2||
|
ਰਾਜ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਤਾਮ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸਾਤਕੁ ਭੀ ਬੇਨਾਧਾ ॥
राज बिनासी ताम बिनासी सातकु भी बेनाधा ॥
Rāj bināsī ṯām bināsī sāṯak bẖī benāḏẖā.
Raajas, the quality of energetic activity shall pass away. Taamas, the quality of lethargic darkness shall pass away. Saatvas, the quality of peaceful light shall pass away as well.

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਮਾਨ ਹੈ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਇਕਿ ਸਾਧ ਬਚਨ ਆਗਾਧਾ ॥੩॥
द्रिसटिमान है सगल बिनासी इकि साध बचन आगाधा ॥३॥
Ḏaristimān hai sagal bināsī ik sāḏẖ bacẖan āgāḏẖā. ||3||
All that is seen shall pass away. Only the Word of the Holy Saint is beyond destruction. ||3||
|
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪੇ ਸਭੁ ਆਪਨ ਖੇਲੁ ਦਿਖਾਧਾ ॥
आपे आपि आप ही आपे सभु आपन खेलु दिखाधा ॥
Āpe āp āp hī āpe sabẖ āpan kẖel ḏikẖāḏẖā.
He Himself is Himself by Himself. All that is seen is His play.

ਪਾਇਓ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਕਹੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਾਧਾ ॥੪॥੬॥
पाइओ न जाई कही भांति रे प्रभु नानक गुर मिलि लाधा ॥४॥६॥
Pā▫i▫o na jā▫ī kahī bẖāʼnṯ re parabẖ Nānak gur mil lāḏẖā. ||4||6||
He cannot be found by any means. O Nanak, meeting with the Guru, God is found. ||4||6||

Sārag mėhlā 5.
Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਾਸਿਬੋ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
मेरै मनि बासिबो गुर गोबिंद ॥
Merai man bāsibo gur gobinḏ.
The Guru, the Lord of the Universe, dwells within my mind.
|
ਜਹਾਂ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਭਇਓ ਹੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤਹਾਂ ਨਗਰ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जहां सिमरनु भइओ है ठाकुर तहां नगर सुख आनंद ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jahāʼn simran bẖa▫i▫o hai ṯẖākur ṯahāʼn nagar sukẖ ānanḏ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Wherever my Lord and Master is remembered in meditation - that village is filled with peace and bliss. ||1||Pause||

ਜਹਾਂ ਬੀਸਰੈ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰੋ ਤਹਾਂ ਦੂਖ ਸਭ ਆਪਦ ॥
जहां बीसरै ठाकुरु पिआरो तहां दूख सभ आपद ॥
Jahāʼn bīsrai ṯẖākur pi▫āro ṯahāʼn ḏūkẖ sabẖ āpaḏ.
Wherever my Beloved Lord and Master is forgotten - all misery and misfortune is there.

ਜਹ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਆਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਰੂਪ ਤਹਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਸੰਪਦ ॥੧॥
जह गुन गाइ आनंद मंगल रूप तहां सदा सुख स्मपद ॥१॥
Jah gun gā▫e ānanḏ mangal rūp ṯahāʼn saḏā sukẖ sampaḏ. ||1||
Where the Praises of my Lord, the Embodiment of Bliss and Joy are sung - eternal peace and wealth are there. ||1||
|
ਜਹਾ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਨ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਤਹ ਮਹਾ ਭਇਆਨ ਉਦਿਆਨਦ ॥
जहा स्रवन हरि कथा न सुनीऐ तह महा भइआन उदिआनद ॥
Jahā sarvan har kathā na sunī▫ai ṯah mahā bẖa▫i▫ān uḏi▫ānaḏ.
Wherever they do not listen to the Stories of the Lord with their ears - the utterly desolate wilderness is there.

ਜਹਾਂ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਤਹ ਸਘਨ ਬਾਸ ਫਲਾਂਨਦ ॥੨॥
जहां कीरतनु साधसंगति रसु तह सघन बास फलांनद ॥२॥
Jahāʼn kīrṯan sāḏẖsangaṯ ras ṯah sagẖan bās falāʼnnaḏ. ||2||
Where the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are sung with love in the Saadh Sangat - there is fragrance and fruit and joy in abundance. ||2||
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਬਰਖ ਜੀਵੈ ਸਗਲੀ ਅਉਧ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾਨਦ ॥
बिनु सिमरन कोटि बरख जीवै सगली अउध ब्रिथानद ॥
Bin simran kot barakẖ jīvai saglī a▫oḏẖ barithānaḏ.
Without meditative remembrance on the Lord, one may live for millions of years, but his life would be totally useless.

ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਭਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਤਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜੀਵਾਨਦ ॥੩॥
एक निमख गोबिंद भजनु करि तउ सदा सदा जीवानद ॥३॥
Ėk nimakẖ gobinḏ bẖajan kar ṯa▫o saḏā saḏā jīvānaḏ. ||3||
But if he vibrates and meditates on the Lord of the Universe, for even a moment, then he shall live forever and ever. ||3||
|
ਸਰਨਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਵਉ ਦੀਜੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਿਰਪਾਨਦ ॥
सरनि सरनि सरनि प्रभ पावउ दीजै साधसंगति किरपानद ॥
Saran saran saran parabẖ pāva▫o ḏījai sāḏẖsangaṯ kirpānaḏ.
O God, I seek Your Sanctuary, Your Sanctuary, Your Sanctuary; please mercifully bless me with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਹੈ ਸਰਬ ਮੈ ਸਗਲ ਗੁਣਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਂਨਦ ॥੪॥੭॥
नानक पूरि रहिओ है सरब मै सगल गुणा बिधि जांनद ॥४॥७॥
Nānak pūr rahi▫o hai sarab mai sagal guṇā biḏẖ jāʼnnaḏ. ||4||7||
O Nanak, the Lord is All-pervading everywhere, amongst all. He knows the qualities and the condition of all. ||4||7||

ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਭਰੋਸਉ ਪਾਏ ॥
अब मोहि राम भरोसउ पाए ॥
Ab mohi rām bẖarosa▫o pā▫e.
Now, I have obtained the Support of the Lord.
|
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਕਰੁਣਾਨਿਧਿ ਤੇ ਤੇ ਭਵਹਿ ਤਰਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जो जो सरणि परिओ करुणानिधि ते ते भवहि तराए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jo jo saraṇ pari▫o karuṇāniḏẖ ṯe ṯe bẖavėh ṯarā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Those who seek the Sanctuary of the Ocean of Mercy are carried across the world-ocean. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸੁਖਿ ਸੋਇਓ ਅਰੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਓ ਸਹਸਾ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਗਵਾਏ ॥
सुखि सोइओ अरु सहजि समाइओ सहसा गुरहि गवाए ॥
Sukẖ so▫i▫o ar sahj samā▫i▫o sahsā gurėh gavā▫e.
They sleep in peace, and intuitively merge into the Lord. The Guru takes away their cynicism and doubt.

ਜੋ ਚਾਹਤ ਸੋਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਓ ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥
जो चाहत सोई हरि कीओ मन बांछत फल पाए ॥१॥
Jo cẖāhaṯ so▫ī har kī▫o man bāʼncẖẖaṯ fal pā▫e. ||1||
Whatever they wish for, the Lord does; they obtain the fruits of their minds' desires. ||1||
|
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਜਪਉ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਲਾਵਉ ਸ੍ਰਵਨੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਾਏ ॥
हिरदै जपउ नेत्र धिआनु लावउ स्रवनी कथा सुनाए ॥
Hirḏai japa▫o neṯar ḏẖi▫ān lāva▫o sarvanī kathā sunā▫e.
In my heart, I meditate on Him; with my eyes, I focus my meditation on Him. With my ears, I listen to His Sermon.
