ਮਨਸਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ
मनसा मारि सचि समाणी ॥
Mansā mār sacẖ samāṇī.
Subduing their desires, they merge with the True One;

ਇਨਿ ਮਨਿ ਡੀਠੀ ਸਭ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੀ
इनि मनि डीठी सभ आवण जाणी ॥
In man dīṯẖī sabẖ āvaṇ jāṇī.
they see in their minds that everyone comes and goes in reincarnation.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਸਦਾ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
सतिगुरु सेवे सदा मनु निहचलु निज घरि वासा पावणिआ ॥३॥
Saṯgur seve saḏā man nihcẖal nij gẖar vāsā pāvṇi▫ā. ||3||
Serving the True Guru, they become stable forever, and they obtain their dwelling in the home of the self. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ
गुर कै सबदि रिदै दिखाइआ ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ riḏai ḏikẖā▫i▫ā.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord is seen within one's own heart.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਇਆ
माइआ मोहु सबदि जलाइआ ॥
Mā▫i▫ā moh sabaḏ jalā▫i▫ā.
Through the Shabad, I have burned my emotional attachment to Maya.

ਸਚੋ ਸਚਾ ਵੇਖਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
सचो सचा वेखि सालाही गुर सबदी सचु पावणिआ ॥४॥
Sacẖo sacẖā vekẖ sālāhī gur sabḏī sacẖ pāvṇi▫ā. ||4||
I gaze upon the Truest of the True, and I praise Him. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I obtain the True One. ||4||

ਜੋ ਸਚਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਚੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ
जो सचि राते तिन सची लिव लागी ॥
Jo sacẖ rāṯe ṯin sacẖī liv lāgī.
Those who are attuned to Truth are blessed with the Love of the True One.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਹਿ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ
हरि नामु समालहि से वडभागी ॥
Har nām samālėh se vadbẖāgī.
Those who praise the Lord's Name are very fortunate.

ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
सचै सबदि आपि मिलाए सतसंगति सचु गुण गावणिआ ॥५॥
Sacẖai sabaḏ āp milā▫e saṯsangaṯ sacẖ guṇ gāvaṇi▫ā. ||5||
Through the Word of His Shabad, the True One blends with Himself, those who join the True Congregation and sing the Glorious Praises of the True One. ||5||

ਲੇਖਾ ਪੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਹੋਵੈ
लेखा पड़ीऐ जे लेखे विचि होवै ॥
Lekẖā paṛī▫ai je lekẖe vicẖ hovai.
We could read the account of the Lord, if He were in any account.

ਓਹੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਹੋਵੈ
ओहु अगमु अगोचरु सबदि सुधि होवै ॥
Oh agam agocẖar sabaḏ suḏẖ hovai.
He is Inaccessible and Incomprehensible; through the Shabad, understanding is obtained.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ਕੋਇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
अनदिनु सच सबदि सालाही होरु कोइ न कीमति पावणिआ ॥६॥
An▫ḏin sacẖ sabaḏ sālāhī hor ko▫e na kīmaṯ pāvṇi▫ā. ||6||
Night and day, praise the True Word of the Shabad. There is no other way to know His Worth. ||6||

ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਆਈ
पड़ि पड़ि थाके सांति न आई ॥
Paṛ paṛ thāke sāʼnṯ na ā▫ī.
People read and recite until they grow weary, but they do not find peace.

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਾਲੇ ਸੁਧਿ ਕਾਈ
त्रिसना जाले सुधि न काई ॥
Ŧarisnā jāle suḏẖ na kā▫ī.
Consumed by desire, they have no understanding at all.

ਬਿਖੁ ਬਿਹਾਝਹਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੋਹ ਪਿਆਸੇ ਕੂੜੁ ਬੋਲਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
बिखु बिहाझहि बिखु मोह पिआसे कूड़ु बोलि बिखु खावणिआ ॥७॥
Bikẖ bihājẖėh bikẖ moh pi▫āse kūṛ bol bikẖ kẖāvaṇi▫ā. ||7||
They purchase poison, and they are thirsty with their fascination for poison. Telling lies, they eat poison. ||7||

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣਾ
गुर परसादी एको जाणा ॥
Gur parsādī eko jāṇā.
By Guru's Grace, I know the One.

ਦੂਜਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ
दूजा मारि मनु सचि समाणा ॥
Ḏūjā mār man sacẖ samāṇā.
Subduing my sense of duality, my mind is absorbed into the True One.

ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧੭॥੧੮॥
नानक एको नामु वरतै मन अंतरि गुर परसादी पावणिआ ॥८॥१७॥१८॥
Nānak eko nām varṯai man anṯar gur parsādī pāvṇi▫ā. ||8||17||18||
O Nanak, the One Name is pervading deep within my mind; by Guru's Grace, I receive it. ||8||17||18||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ
माझ महला ३ ॥
Mājẖ mėhlā 3.
Maajh, Third Mehl:

ਵਰਨ ਰੂਪ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੇ
वरन रूप वरतहि सभ तेरे ॥
varan rūp varṯėh sabẖ ṯere.
In all colors and forms, You are pervading.

ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਫੇਰ ਪਵਹਿ ਘਣੇਰੇ
मरि मरि जमहि फेर पवहि घणेरे ॥
Mar mar jamėh fer pavėh gẖaṇere.
People die over and over again; they are re-born, and make their rounds on the wheel of reincarnation.

ਤੂੰ ਏਕੋ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥
तूं एको निहचलु अगम अपारा गुरमती बूझ बुझावणिआ ॥१॥
Ŧūʼn eko nihcẖal agam apārā gurmaṯī būjẖ bujẖāvaṇi▫ā. ||1||
You alone are Eternal and Unchanging, Inaccessible and Infinite. Through the Guru's Teachings, understanding is imparted. ||1||

ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ
हउ वारी जीउ वारी राम नामु मंनि वसावणिआ ॥
Ha▫o vārī jī▫o vārī rām nām man vasāvaṇi▫ā.
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who enshrine the Lord's Name in their minds.

ਤਿਸੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਰੇਖਿਆ ਵਰਨੁ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
तिसु रूपु न रेखिआ वरनु न कोई गुरमती आपि बुझावणिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧis rūp na rekẖ▫i▫ā varan na ko▫ī gurmaṯī āp bujẖāvaṇi▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Lord has no form, features or color. Through the Guru's Teachings, He inspires us to understand Him. ||1||Pause||

ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ
सभ एका जोति जाणै जे कोई ॥
Sabẖ ekā joṯ jāṇai je ko▫ī.
The One Light is all-pervading; only a few know this.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਈ
सतिगुरु सेविऐ परगटु होई ॥
Saṯgur sevi▫ai pargat ho▫ī.
Serving the True Guru, this is revealed.

ਗੁਪਤੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਥਾਈ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
गुपतु परगटु वरतै सभ थाई जोती जोति मिलावणिआ ॥२॥
Gupaṯ pargat varṯai sabẖ thā▫ī joṯī joṯ milāvaṇi▫ā. ||2||
In the hidden and in the obvious, He is pervading all places. Our light merges into the Light. ||2||

ਤਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਜਲੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ
तिसना अगनि जलै संसारा ॥
Ŧisnā agan jalai sansārā.
The world is burning in the fire of desire,

ਲੋਭੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ
लोभु अभिमानु बहुतु अहंकारा ॥
Lobẖ abẖimān bahuṯ ahaʼnkārā.
in greed, arrogance and excessive ego.

ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਏ ਅਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
मरि मरि जनमै पति गवाए अपणी बिरथा जनमु गवावणिआ ॥३॥
Mar mar janmai paṯ gavā▫e apṇī birthā janam gavāvṇi▫ā. ||3||
People die over and over again; they are re-born, and lose their honor. They waste away their lives in vain. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ
गुर का सबदु को विरला बूझै ॥
Gur kā sabaḏ ko virlā būjẖai.
Those who understand the Word of the Guru's Shabad are very rare.

ਆਪੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣੁ ਸੂਝੈ
आपु मारे ता त्रिभवणु सूझै ॥
Āp māre ṯā ṯaribẖavaṇ sūjẖai.
Those who subdue their egotism, come to know the three worlds.

ਫਿਰਿ ਓਹੁ ਮਰੈ ਮਰਣਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
फिरि ओहु मरै न मरणा होवै सहजे सचि समावणिआ ॥४॥
Fir oh marai na marṇā hovai sėhje sacẖ samāvaṇi▫ā. ||4||
Then, they die, never to die again. They are intuitively absorbed in the True One. ||4||

ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ
माइआ महि फिरि चितु न लाए ॥
Mā▫i▫ā mėh fir cẖiṯ na lā▫e.
They do not focus their consciousness on Maya again.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਏ
गुर कै सबदि सद रहै समाए ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ saḏ rahai samā▫e.
They remain absorbed forever in the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੇ ਸਭ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
सचु सलाहे सभ घट अंतरि सचो सचु सुहावणिआ ॥५॥
Sacẖ salāhe sabẖ gẖat anṯar sacẖo sacẖ suhāvaṇi▫ā. ||5||
They praise the True One, who is contained deep within all hearts. They are blessed and exalted by the Truest of the True. ||5||

ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰੇ
सचु सालाही सदा हजूरे ॥
Sacẖ sālāhī saḏā hajūre.
Praise the True One, who is Ever-present.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ
गुर कै सबदि रहिआ भरपूरे ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ rahi▫ā bẖarpūre.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, He is pervading everywhere.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ਸਚੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
गुर परसादी सचु नदरी आवै सचे ही सुखु पावणिआ ॥६॥
Gur parsādī sacẖ naḏrī āvai sacẖe hī sukẖ pāvṇi▫ā. ||6||
By Guru's Grace, we come to behold the True One; from the True One, peace is obtained. ||6||

ਸਚੁ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ
सचु मन अंदरि रहिआ समाइ ॥
Sacẖ man anḏar rahi▫ā samā▫e.
The True One permeates and pervades the mind within.

ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ
सदा सचु निहचलु आवै न जाइ ॥
Saḏā sacẖ nihcẖal āvai na jā▫e.
The True One is Eternal and Unchanging; He does not come and go in reincarnation.

ਸਚੇ ਲਾਗੈ ਸੋ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
सचे लागै सो मनु निरमलु गुरमती सचि समावणिआ ॥७॥
Sacẖe lāgai so man nirmal gurmaṯī sacẖ samāvaṇi▫ā. ||7||
Those who are attached to the True One are immaculate and pure. Through the Guru's Teachings, they merge in the True One. ||7||

ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਕੋਈ
सचु सालाही अवरु न कोई ॥
Sacẖ sālāhī avar na ko▫ī.
Praise the True One, and no other.

ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ
जितु सेविऐ सदा सुखु होई ॥
Jiṯ sevi▫ai saḏā sukẖ ho▫ī.
Serving Him, eternal peace is obtained.
