ਪਰਪੰਚ ਵੇਖਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਵਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥
परपंच वेखि रहिआ विसमादु ॥
Parpancẖ vekẖ rahi▫ā vismāḏ.
Gazing upon the wonder of God's Creation, I am wonder-struck and amazed.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ ॥੩॥
गुरमुखि पाईऐ नाम प्रसादु ॥३॥
Gurmukẖ pā▫ī▫ai nām parsāḏ. ||3||
The Gurmukh obtains the Naam, the Name of the Lord, by His Grace. ||3||
|
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥
आपे करता सभि रस भोग ॥
Āpe karṯā sabẖ ras bẖog.
The Creator Himself enjoys all delights.
|
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਪਰੁ ਹੋਗ ॥
जो किछु करे सोई परु होग ॥
Jo kicẖẖ kare so▫ī par hog.
Whatever He does, surely comes to pass.
|
ਵਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥
वडा दाता तिलु न तमाइ ॥
vadā ḏāṯā ṯil na ṯamā▫e.
He is the Great Giver; He has no greed at all.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੬॥
नानक मिलीऐ सबदु कमाइ ॥४॥६॥
Nānak milī▫ai sabaḏ kamā▫e. ||4||6||
O Nanak, living the Word of the Shabad, the mortal meets with God. ||4||6||

ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਚੁ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
पूरै भागि सचु कार कमावै ॥
Pūrai bẖāg sacẖ kār kamāvai.
By perfect destiny, one acts in truth.
|
ਏਕੋ ਚੇਤੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
एको चेतै फिरि जोनि न आवै ॥
Ėko cẖeṯai fir jon na āvai.
Remembering the One Lord, one does not have to enter the cycle of reincarnation.

ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਇਸੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
सफल जनमु इसु जग महि आइआ ॥
Safal janam is jag mėh ā▫i▫ā.
Fruitful is the coming into the world, and the life of one
|
ਸਾਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
साचि नामि सहजि समाइआ ॥१॥
Sācẖ nām sahj samā▫i▫ā. ||1||
who remains intuitively absorbed in the True Name. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਹੁ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
गुरमुखि कार करहु लिव लाइ ॥
Gurmukẖ kār karahu liv lā▫e.
The Gurmukh acts, lovingly attuned to the Lord.
|
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि नामु सेवहु विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har nām sevhu vicẖahu āp gavā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Be dedicated to the Lord's Name, and eradicate self-conceit from within. ||1||Pause||
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
तिसु जन की है साची बाणी ॥
Ŧis jan kī hai sācẖī baṇī.
True is the speech of that humble being;
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਗ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
गुर कै सबदि जग माहि समाणी ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ jag māhi samāṇī.
through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, it is spread throughout the world.

ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗ ਪਸਰੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥
चहु जुग पसरी साची सोइ ॥
Cẖahu jug pasrī sācẖī so▫e.
Throughout the four ages, his fame and glory spread.
|
ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤਾ ਜਨੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
नामि रता जनु परगटु होइ ॥२॥
Nām raṯā jan pargat ho▫e. ||2||
Imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the Lord's humble servant is recognized and renowned. ||2||
|
ਇਕਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
इकि साचै सबदि रहे लिव लाइ ॥
Ik sācẖai sabaḏ rahe liv lā▫e.
Some remain lovingly attuned to the True Word of the Shabad.
|
ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਚੈ ਭਾਇ ॥
से जन साचे साचै भाइ ॥
Se jan sācẖe sācẖai bẖā▫e.
True are those humble beings who love the True Lord.
|
ਸਾਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
साचु धिआइनि देखि हजूरि ॥
Sācẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫in ḏekẖ hajūr.
They meditate on the True Lord, and behold Him near at hand, ever-present.
|
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਪਗ ਪੰਕਜ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੩॥
संत जना की पग पंकज धूरि ॥३॥
Sanṯ janā kī pag pankaj ḏẖūr. ||3||
They are the dust of the lotus feet of the humble Saints. ||3||
|
ਏਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
एको करता अवरु न कोइ ॥
Ėko karṯā avar na ko▫e.
There is only One Creator Lord; there is no other at all.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮੇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
गुर सबदी मेलावा होइ ॥
Gur sabḏī melāvā ho▫e.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, comes Union with the Lord.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
जिनि सचु सेविआ तिनि रसु पाइआ ॥
Jin sacẖ sevi▫ā ṯin ras pā▫i▫ā.
Whoever serves the True Lord finds joy.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੭॥
नानक सहजे नामि समाइआ ॥४॥७॥
Nānak sėhje nām samā▫i▫ā. ||4||7||
O Nanak, he is intuitively absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||7||

ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਜਨ ਦੇਖਿ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
भगति करहि जन देखि हजूरि ॥
Bẖagaṯ karahi jan ḏekẖ hajūr.
The Lord's humble servant worships Him, and beholds Him ever-present, near at hand.

ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਪਗ ਪੰਕਜ ਧੂਰਿ ॥
संत जना की पग पंकज धूरि ॥
Sanṯ janā kī pag pankaj ḏẖūr.
He is the dust of the lotus feet of the humble Saints.
|
ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਸਦ ਰਹਹਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
हरि सेती सद रहहि लिव लाइ ॥
Har seṯī saḏ rahėh liv lā▫e.
Those who remain lovingly attuned to the Lord forever
|
ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥੧॥
पूरै सतिगुरि दीआ बुझाइ ॥१॥
Pūrai saṯgur ḏī▫ā bujẖā▫e. ||1||
are blessed with understanding by the Perfect True Guru. ||1||
|
ਦਾਸਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਇ ॥
दासा का दासु विरला कोई होइ ॥
Ḏāsā kā ḏās virlā ko▫ī ho▫e.
How rare are those who become the slave of the Lord's slaves.
|
ਊਤਮ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ऊतम पदवी पावै सोइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ūṯam paḏvī pāvai so▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
They attain the supreme status. ||1||Pause||
|
ਏਕੋ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
एको सेवहु अवरु न कोइ ॥
Ėko sevhu avar na ko▫e.
So serve the One Lord, and no other.
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
जितु सेविऐ सदा सुखु होइ ॥
Jiṯ sevi▫ai saḏā sukẖ ho▫e.
Serving Him, eternal peace is obtained.
|
ਨਾ ਓਹੁ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
ना ओहु मरै न आवै जाइ ॥
Nā oh marai na āvai jā▫e.
He does not die; He does not come and go in reincarnation.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਕਿਉ ਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
तिसु बिनु अवरु सेवी किउ माइ ॥२॥
Ŧis bin avar sevī ki▫o mā▫e. ||2||
Why should I serve any other than Him, O my mother? ||2||
|
ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਚੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥
से जन साचे जिनी साचु पछाणिआ ॥
Se jan sācẖe jinī sācẖ pacẖẖāṇi▫ā.
True are those humble beings who realize the True Lord.
|
ਆਪੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣਿਆ ॥
आपु मारि सहजे नामि समाणिआ ॥
Āp mār sėhje nām samāṇi▫ā.
Conquering their self-conceit, they merge intuitively into the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
गुरमुखि नामु परापति होइ ॥
Gurmukẖ nām parāpaṯ ho▫e.
The Gurmukhs gather in the Naam.
|
ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
मनु निरमलु निरमल सचु सोइ ॥३॥
Man nirmal nirmal sacẖ so▫e. ||3||
Their minds are immaculate, and their reputations are immaculate. ||3||
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਤੂ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
जिनि गिआनु कीआ तिसु हरि तू जाणु ॥
Jin gi▫ān kī▫ā ṯis har ṯū jāṇ.
Know the Lord, who gave you spiritual wisdom,
|
ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਸਿਞਾਣੁ ॥
साच सबदि प्रभु एकु सिञाणु ॥
Sācẖ sabaḏ parabẖ ek siñāṇ.
and realize the One God, through the True Word of the Shabad.
|
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੈ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਧਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
हरि रसु चाखै तां सुधि होइ ॥
Har ras cẖākẖai ṯāʼn suḏẖ ho▫e.
When the mortal tastes the sublime essence of the Lord, he becomes pure and holy.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੮॥
नानक नामि रते सचु सोइ ॥४॥८॥
Nānak nām raṯe sacẖ so▫e. ||4||8||
O Nanak, those who are imbued with the Naam - their reputations are true. ||4||8||

Nām raṯe kulāʼn kā karahi uḏẖār.
Those who are imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord - their generations are redeemed and saved.

ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
साची बाणी नाम पिआरु ॥
Sācẖī baṇī nām pi▫ār.
True is their speech; they love the Naam.
|
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭੂਲੇ ਕਾਹੇ ਆਏ ॥
मनमुख भूले काहे आए ॥
Manmukẖ bẖūle kāhe ā▫e.
Why have the wandering self-willed manmukhs even come into the world?
|
ਨਾਮਹੁ ਭੂਲੇ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੧॥
नामहु भूले जनमु गवाए ॥१॥
Nāmhu bẖūle janam gavā▫e. ||1||
Forgetting the Naam, the mortals waste their lives away. ||1||
|
ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ਮਰਿ ਮਰਣੁ ਸਵਾਰੈ ॥
जीवत मरै मरि मरणु सवारै ॥
Jīvaṯ marai mar maraṇ savārai.
One who dies while yet alive, truly dies, and embellishes his death.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुर कै सबदि साचु उर धारै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ sācẖ ur ḏẖārai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he enshrines the True Lord within his heart. ||1||Pause||
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥
गुरमुखि सचु भोजनु पवितु सरीरा ॥
Gurmukẖ sacẖ bẖojan paviṯ sarīrā.
Truth is the food of the Gurmukh; his body is sanctified and pure.
|
ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਦ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰਾ ॥
मनु निरमलु सद गुणी गहीरा ॥
Man nirmal saḏ guṇī gahīrā.
His mind is immaculate; he is forever the ocean of virtue.
|
ਜੰਮੈ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
जमै मरै न आवै जाइ ॥
Jammai marai na āvai jā▫e.
He is not forced to come and go in the cycle of birth and death.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
गुर परसादी साचि समाइ ॥२॥
Gur parsādī sācẖ samā▫e. ||2||
By Guru's Grace, he merges in the True Lord. ||2||
|
ਸਾਚਾ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥
साचा सेवहु साचु पछाणै ॥
Sācẖā sevhu sācẖ pacẖẖāṇai.
Serving the True Lord, one realizes Truth.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਨੀਸਾਣੈ ॥
गुर कै सबदि हरि दरि नीसाणै ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ har ḏar nīsāṇai.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he goes to the Lord's Court with his banners flying proudly.
