ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
नदरि करे चूकै अभिमानु ॥
Naḏar kare cẖūkai abẖimān.
When the Lord bestows His Glance of Grace, egotism is eradicated.
|
ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
साची दरगह पावै मानु ॥
Sācẖī ḏargėh pāvai mān.
Then, the mortal is honored in the Court of the True Lord.
|
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
हरि जीउ वेखै सद हजूरि ॥
Har jī▫o vekẖai saḏ hajūr.
He sees the Dear Lord always close at hand, ever-present.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੩॥
गुर कै सबदि रहिआ भरपूरि ॥३॥
Gur kai sabaḏ rahi▫ā bẖarpūr. ||3||
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he sees the Lord pervading and permeating all. ||3||
|
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਕੀ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
जीअ जंत की करे प्रतिपाल ॥
Jī▫a janṯ kī kare parṯipāl.
The Lord cherishes all beings and creatures.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਦ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲ ॥
गुर परसादी सद सम्हाल ॥
Gur parsādī saḏ samĥāl.
By Guru's Grace, contemplate Him forever.
|
ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
दरि साचै पति सिउ घरि जाइ ॥
Ḏar sācẖai paṯ si▫o gẖar jā▫e.
You shall go to your true home in the Lord's Court with honor.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੩॥
नानक नामि वडाई पाइ ॥४॥३॥
Nānak nām vadā▫ī pā▫e. ||4||3||
O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, you shall be blessed with glorious greatness. ||4||3||

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ॥
अंतरि पूजा मन ते होइ ॥
Anṯar pūjā man ṯe ho▫e.
One who worships the Lord within his mind,
|
ਏਕੋ ਵੇਖੈ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
एको वेखै अउरु न कोइ ॥
Ėko vekẖai a▫or na ko▫e.
sees the One and Only Lord, and no other.
|
ਦੂਜੈ ਲੋਕੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
दूजै लोकी बहुतु दुखु पाइआ ॥
Ḏūjai lokī bahuṯ ḏukẖ pā▫i▫ā.
People in duality suffer terrible pain.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੈਨੋ ਏਕੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
सतिगुरि मैनो एकु दिखाइआ ॥१॥
Saṯgur maino ek ḏikẖā▫i▫ā. ||1||
The True Guru has shown me the One Lord. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤੁ ॥
मेरा प्रभु मउलिआ सद बसंतु ॥
Merā parabẖ ma▫oli▫ā saḏ basanṯ.
My God is in bloom, forever in spring.
|
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
इहु मनु मउलिआ गाइ गुण गोबिंद ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ih man ma▫oli▫ā gā▫e guṇ gobinḏ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
This mind blossoms forth, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||
|
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਰਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
गुर पूछहु तुम्ह करहु बीचारु ॥
Gur pūcẖẖahu ṯumĥ karahu bīcẖār.
So consult the Guru, and reflect upon His wisdom;
|
ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਚੇ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
तां प्रभ साचे लगै पिआरु ॥
Ŧāʼn parabẖ sācẖe lagai pi▫ār.
then, you shall be in love with the True Lord God.
|
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਹੋਹਿ ਦਾਸਤ ਭਾਇ ॥
आपु छोडि होहि दासत भाइ ॥
Āp cẖẖod hohi ḏāsaṯ bẖā▫e.
Abandon your self-conceit, and be His loving servant.
|
ਤਉ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
तउ जगजीवनु वसै मनि आइ ॥२॥
Ŧa▫o jagjīvan vasai man ā▫e. ||2||
Then, the Life of the World shall come to dwell in your mind. ||2||
|
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਸਦ ਵੇਖੈ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
भगति करे सद वेखै हजूरि ॥
Bẖagaṯ kare saḏ vekẖai hajūr.
Worship Him with devotion, and see Him always ever-present, close at hand.
|
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
मेरा प्रभु सद रहिआ भरपूरि ॥
Merā parabẖ saḏ rahi▫ā bẖarpūr.
My God is forever permeating and pervading all.
|
ਇਸੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਭੇਉ ॥
इसु भगती का कोई जाणै भेउ ॥
Is bẖagṯī kā ko▫ī jāṇai bẖe▫o.
Only a rare few know the mystery of this devotional worship.

ਸਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਤਮ ਦੇਉ ॥੩॥
सभु मेरा प्रभु आतम देउ ॥३॥
Sabẖ merā parabẖ āṯam ḏe▫o. ||3||
My God is the Enlightener of all souls. ||3||
|
ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
आपे सतिगुरु मेलि मिलाए ॥
Āpe saṯgur mel milā▫e.
The True Guru Himself unites us in His Union.
|
ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਸਿਉ ਆਪਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
जगजीवन सिउ आपि चितु लाए ॥
Jagjīvan si▫o āp cẖiṯ lā▫e.
He Himself links our consciousness to the Lord, the Life of the World.
|
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥
मनु तनु हरिआ सहजि सुभाए ॥
Man ṯan hari▫ā sahj subẖā▫e.
Thus, our minds and bodies are rejuvenated with intuitive ease.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੪॥
नानक नामि रहे लिव लाए ॥४॥४॥
Nānak nām rahe liv lā▫e. ||4||4||
O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, we remain attuned to the String of His Love. ||4||4||

ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
भगति वछलु हरि वसै मनि आइ ॥
Bẖagaṯ vacẖẖal har vasai man ā▫e.
The Lord is the Lover of His devotees; He dwells within their minds,
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
गुर किरपा ते सहज सुभाइ ॥
Gur kirpā ṯe sahj subẖā▫e.
by Guru's Grace, with intuitive ease.
|
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਖੋਇ ॥
भगति करे विचहु आपु खोइ ॥
Bẖagaṯ kare vicẖahu āp kẖo▫e.
Through devotional worship, self-conceit is eradicated from within,
|
ਤਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਚਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
तद ही साचि मिलावा होइ ॥१॥
Ŧaḏ hī sācẖ milāvā ho▫e. ||1||
and then, one meets the True Lord. ||1||
|
ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥
भगत सोहहि सदा हरि प्रभ दुआरि ॥
Bẖagaṯ sohėh saḏā har parabẖ ḏu▫ār.
His devotees are forever beauteous at the Door of the Lord God.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुर कै हेति साचै प्रेम पिआरि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur kai heṯ sācẖai parem pi▫ār. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Loving the Guru, they have love and affection for the True Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
भगति करे सो जनु निरमलु होइ ॥
Bẖagaṯ kare so jan nirmal ho▫e.
That humble being who worships the Lord with devotion becomes immaculate and pure.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਖੋਇ ॥
गुर सबदी विचहु हउमै खोइ ॥
Gur sabḏī vicẖahu ha▫umai kẖo▫e.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, egotism is eradicated from within.
|
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
हरि जीउ आपि वसै मनि आइ ॥
Har jī▫o āp vasai man ā▫e.
The Dear Lord Himself comes to dwell within the mind,
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
सदा सांति सुखि सहजि समाइ ॥२॥
Saḏā sāʼnṯ sukẖ sahj samā▫e. ||2||
and the mortal remains immersed in peace, tranquility and intuitive ease. ||2||
|
ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤ ॥
साचि रते तिन सद बसंत ॥
Sācẖ raṯe ṯin saḏ basanṯ.
Those who are imbued with Truth, are forever in the bloom of spring.
|
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਰਵਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੁਵਿੰਦ ॥
मनु तनु हरिआ रवि गुण गुविंद ॥
Man ṯan hari▫ā rav guṇ guvinḏ.
Their minds and bodies are rejuvenated, uttering the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸੂਕਾ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
बिनु नावै सूका संसारु ॥
Bin nāvai sūkā sansār.
Without the Lord's Name, the world is dry and parched.
|
ਅਗਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲੈ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥੩॥
अगनि त्रिसना जलै वारो वार ॥३॥
Agan ṯarisnā jalai vāro vār. ||3||
It burns in the fire of desire, over and over again. ||3||
|
ਸੋਈ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
सोई करे जि हरि जीउ भावै ॥
So▫ī kare jė har jī▫o bẖāvai.
One who does only that which is pleasing to the Dear Lord-
|
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਰੀਰਿ ਭਾਣੈ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
सदा सुखु सरीरि भाणै चितु लावै ॥
Saḏā sukẖ sarīr bẖāṇai cẖiṯ lāvai.
his body is forever at peace, and his consciousness is attached to the Lord's Will.
|
ਅਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
अपणा प्रभु सेवे सहजि सुभाइ ॥
Apṇā parabẖ seve sahj subẖā▫e.
He serves His God with intuitive ease.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੪॥੫॥
नानक नामु वसै मनि आइ ॥४॥५॥
Nānak nām vasai man ā▫e. ||4||5||
O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, comes to abide in his mind. ||4||5||

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ॥

Mā▫i▫ā moh sabaḏ jalā▫e.
Attachment to Maya is burnt away by the Word of the Shabad.
|
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ॥
मनु तनु हरिआ सतिगुर भाए ॥
Man ṯan hari▫ā saṯgur bẖā▫e.
The mind and body are rejuvenated by the Love of the True Guru.

ਸਫਲਿਓੁ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥
सफलिओ बिरखु हरि कै दुआरि ॥
Safli▫o birakẖ har kai ḏu▫ār.
The tree bears fruit at the Lord's Door,

ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੧॥
साची बाणी नाम पिआरि ॥१॥
Sācẖī baṇī nām pi▫ār. ||1||
in love with the True Bani of the Guru's Word, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
|
ਏ ਮਨ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
ए मन हरिआ सहज सुभाइ ॥
Ė man hari▫ā sahj subẖā▫e.
This mind is rejuvenated, with intuitive ease;
|
ਸਚ ਫਲੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सच फलु लागै सतिगुर भाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sacẖ fal lāgai saṯgur bẖā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
loving the True Guru, it bears the fruit of truth. ||1||Pause||
|
ਆਪੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
आपे नेड़ै आपे दूरि ॥
Āpe neṛai āpe ḏūr.
He Himself is near, and He Himself is far away.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
गुर कै सबदि वेखै सद हजूरि ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ vekẖai saḏ hajūr.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, He is seen to be ever-present, close at hand.
|
ਛਾਵ ਘਣੀ ਫੂਲੀ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥
छाव घणी फूली बनराइ ॥
Cẖẖāv gẖaṇī fūlī banrā▫e.
The plants have blossomed forth, giving a dense shade.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੨॥
गुरमुखि बिगसै सहजि सुभाइ ॥२॥
Gurmukẖ bigsai sahj subẖā▫e. ||2||
The Gurmukh blossoms forth, with intuitive ease. ||2||
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
अनदिनु कीरतनु करहि दिन राति ॥
An▫ḏin kīrṯan karahi ḏin rāṯ.
Night and day, he sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, day and night.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜੂਠਿ ਭਰਾਂਤਿ ॥
सतिगुरि गवाई विचहु जूठि भरांति ॥
Saṯgur gavā▫ī vicẖahu jūṯẖ bẖarāʼnṯ.
The True Guru drives out sin and doubt from within.
