ਰਾਗੁ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ਘਰੁ ਚਉਪਦੇ ਦੁਤੁਕੇ
रागु बसंतु महला १ घरु १ चउपदे दुतुके
Rāg basanṯ mėhlā 1 gẖar 1 cẖa▫upḏe ḏuṯuke
Raag Basant, First Mehl, First House, Chau-Padas, Du-Tukas:

ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ
ੴ सति नामु करता पुरखु निरभउ निरवैरु अकाल मूरति अजूनी सैभं गुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯ nām karṯā purakẖ nirbẖa▫o nirvair akāl mūraṯ ajūnī saibẖaʼn gur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. Truth Is The Name. Creative Being Personified. No Fear. No Hatred. Image Of The Undying. Beyond Birth. Self-Existent. By Guru's Grace:

ਮਾਹਾ ਮਾਹ ਮੁਮਾਰਖੀ ਚੜਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਬਸੰਤੁ
माहा माह मुमारखी चड़िआ सदा बसंतु ॥
Māhā māh mumārkẖī cẖaṛi▫ā saḏā basanṯ.
Among the months, blessed is this month, when spring always comes.

ਪਰਫੜੁ ਚਿਤ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਸੋਇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ॥੧॥
परफड़ु चित समालि सोइ सदा सदा गोबिंदु ॥१॥
Parfaṛ cẖiṯ samāl so▫e saḏā saḏā gobinḏ. ||1||
Blossom forth, O my consciousness, contemplating the Lord of the Universe, forever and ever. ||1||

ਭੋਲਿਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ
भोलिआ हउमै सुरति विसारि ॥
Bẖoli▫ā ha▫umai suraṯ visār.
O ignorant one, forget your egotistical intellect.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਮਨ ਗੁਣ ਵਿਚਿ ਗੁਣੁ ਲੈ ਸਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
हउमै मारि बीचारि मन गुण विचि गुणु लै सारि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ha▫umai mār bīcẖār man guṇ vicẖ guṇ lai sār. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Subdue your ego, and contemplate Him in your mind; gather in the virtues of the Sublime, Virtuous Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਕਰਮ ਪੇਡੁ ਸਾਖਾ ਹਰੀ ਧਰਮੁ ਫੁਲੁ ਫਲੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ
करम पेडु साखा हरी धरमु फुलु फलु गिआनु ॥
Karam ped sākẖā harī ḏẖaram ful fal gi▫ān.
Karma is the tree, the Lord's Name the branches, Dharmic faith the flowers, and spiritual wisdom the fruit.

ਪਤ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਛਾਵ ਘਣੀ ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
पत परापति छाव घणी चूका मन अभिमानु ॥२॥
Paṯ parāpaṯ cẖẖāv gẖaṇī cẖūkā man abẖimān. ||2||
Realization of the Lord are the leaves, and eradication of the pride of the mind is the shade. ||2||

ਅਖੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੰਨੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਆਖਣੁ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ
अखी कुदरति कंनी बाणी मुखि आखणु सचु नामु ॥
Akẖī kuḏraṯ kannī baṇī mukẖ ākẖaṇ sacẖ nām.
Whoever sees the Lord's Creative Power with his eyes, and hears the Guru's Bani with his ears, and utters the True Name with his mouth,

ਪਤਿ ਕਾ ਧਨੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਆ ਲਾਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥੩॥
पति का धनु पूरा होआ लागा सहजि धिआनु ॥३॥
Paṯ kā ḏẖan pūrā ho▫ā lāgā sahj ḏẖi▫ān. ||3||
attains the perfect wealth of honor, and intuitively focuses his meditation on the Lord. ||3||

ਮਾਹਾ ਰੁਤੀ ਆਵਣਾ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ
माहा रुती आवणा वेखहु करम कमाइ ॥
Māhā ruṯī āvṇā vekẖhu karam kamā▫e.
The months and the seasons come; see, and do your deeds.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰੇ ਸੂਕਹੀ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥
नानक हरे न सूकही जि गुरमुखि रहे समाइ ॥४॥१॥
Nānak hare na sūkhī jė gurmukẖ rahe samā▫e. ||4||1||
O Nanak, those Gurmukhs who remain merged in the Lord do not wither away; they remain green forever. ||4||1||

ਮਹਲਾ ਬਸੰਤੁ
महला १ बसंतु ॥
Mėhlā 1 basanṯ.
First Mehl, Basant:

ਰੁਤਿ ਆਈਲੇ ਸਰਸ ਬਸੰਤ ਮਾਹਿ
रुति आईले सरस बसंत माहि ॥
Ruṯ ā▫īle saras basanṯ māhi.
The season of spring, so delightful, has come.

ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਰਵਹਿ ਸਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਚਾਇ
रंगि राते रवहि सि तेरै चाइ ॥
Rang rāṯe ravėh sė ṯerai cẖā▫e.
Those who are imbued with love for You, O Lord, chant Your Name with joy.

ਕਿਸੁ ਪੂਜ ਚੜਾਵਉ ਲਗਉ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥
किसु पूज चड़ावउ लगउ पाइ ॥१॥
Kis pūj cẖaṛāva▫o laga▫o pā▫e. ||1||
Whom else should I worship? At whose feet should I bow? ||1||

ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਕਹਉ ਰਾਇ
तेरा दासनि दासा कहउ राइ ॥
Ŧerā ḏāsan ḏāsā kaha▫o rā▫e.
I am the slave of Your slaves, O my Sovereign Lord King.

ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਕਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जगजीवन जुगति न मिलै काइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jagjīvan jugaṯ na milai kā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
O Life of the Universe, there is no other way to meet You. ||1||Pause||

ਤੇਰੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਏਕਾ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਰੂਪ
तेरी मूरति एका बहुतु रूप ॥
Ŧerī mūraṯ ekā bahuṯ rūp.
You have only One Form, and yet You have countless forms.

ਕਿਸੁ ਪੂਜ ਚੜਾਵਉ ਦੇਉ ਧੂਪ
किसु पूज चड़ावउ देउ धूप ॥
Kis pūj cẖaṛāva▫o ḏe▫o ḏẖūp.
Which one should I worship? Before which one should I burn incense?

ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਹਾ ਪਾਇ
तेरा अंतु न पाइआ कहा पाइ ॥
Ŧerā anṯ na pā▫i▫ā kahā pā▫e.
Your limits cannot be found. How can anyone find them?

ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਕਹਉ ਰਾਇ ॥੨॥
तेरा दासनि दासा कहउ राइ ॥२॥
Ŧerā ḏāsan ḏāsā kaha▫o rā▫e. ||2||
I am the slave of Your slaves, O my Sovereign Lord King. ||2||

ਤੇਰੇ ਸਠਿ ਸੰਬਤ ਸਭਿ ਤੀਰਥਾ
तेरे सठि स्मबत सभि तीरथा ॥
Ŧere saṯẖ sambaṯ sabẖ ṯīrthā.
The cycles of years and the places of pilgrimage are Yours, O Lord.

ਤੇਰਾ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਾ
तेरा सचु नामु परमेसरा ॥
Ŧerā sacẖ nām parmesrā.
Your Name is True, O Transcendent Lord God.

ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਅਵਿਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀਐ
तेरी गति अविगति नही जाणीऐ ॥
Ŧerī gaṯ avigaṯ nahī jāṇī▫ai.
Your State cannot be known, O Eternal, Unchanging Lord God.

ਅਣਜਾਣਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ॥੩॥
अणजाणत नामु वखाणीऐ ॥३॥
Aṇjāṇaṯ nām vakẖāṇī▫ai. ||3||
Although You are unknown, still we chant Your Name. ||3||

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵੇਚਾਰਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਹੈ
नानकु वेचारा किआ कहै ॥
Nānak vecẖārā ki▫ā kahai.
What can poor Nanak say?

ਸਭੁ ਲੋਕੁ ਸਲਾਹੇ ਏਕਸੈ
सभु लोकु सलाहे एकसै ॥
Sabẖ lok salāhe eksai.
All people praise the One Lord.

ਸਿਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾ ਪਾਵ ਹੈ
सिरु नानक लोका पाव है ॥
Sir Nānak lokā pāv hai.
Nanak places his head on the feet of such people.

ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਾਉ ਜੇਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਵ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥
बलिहारी जाउ जेते तेरे नाव है ॥४॥२॥
Balihārī jā▫o jeṯe ṯere nāv hai. ||4||2||
I am a sacrifice to Your Names, as many as there are, O Lord. ||4||2||

ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ
बसंतु महला १ ॥
Basanṯ mėhlā 1.
Basant, First Mehl:

ਸੁਇਨੇ ਕਾ ਚਉਕਾ ਕੰਚਨ ਕੁਆਰ
सुइने का चउका कंचन कुआर ॥
Su▫ine kā cẖa▫ukā kancẖan ku▫ār.
The kitchen is golden, and the cooking pots are golden.

ਰੁਪੇ ਕੀਆ ਕਾਰਾ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੁ
रुपे कीआ कारा बहुतु बिसथारु ॥
Rupe kī▫ā kārā bahuṯ bisthār.
The lines marking the cooking square are silver.

ਗੰਗਾ ਕਾ ਉਦਕੁ ਕਰੰਤੇ ਕੀ ਆਗਿ
गंगा का उदकु करंते की आगि ॥
Gangā kā uḏak karanṯe kī āg.
The water is from the Ganges, and the firewood is sanctified.

ਗਰੁੜਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਦੁਧ ਸਿਉ ਗਾਡਿ ॥੧॥
गरुड़ा खाणा दुध सिउ गाडि ॥१॥
Garuṛā kẖāṇā ḏuḏẖ si▫o gād. ||1||
The food is soft rice, cooked in milk. ||1||

ਰੇ ਮਨ ਲੇਖੈ ਕਬਹੂ ਪਾਇ
रे मन लेखै कबहू न पाइ ॥
Re man lekẖai kabhū na pā▫e.
O my mind, these things are worthless,
