ਨਾਮੇ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੪॥੩॥
Nāme har kā ḏarsan bẖa▫i▫ā. ||4||3||
Thus did Naam Dayv come to receive the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||4||3||
|
ਮੈ ਬਉਰੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਭਤਾਰੁ ॥
Mai ba▫urī merā rām bẖaṯār.
I am crazy - the Lord is my Husband.
|
ਰਚਿ ਰਚਿ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕਰਉ ਸਿੰਗਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
Racẖ racẖ ṯā ka▫o kara▫o singār. ||1||
I decorate and adorn myself for Him. ||1||
|
ਭਲੇ ਨਿੰਦਉ ਭਲੇ ਨਿੰਦਉ ਭਲੇ ਨਿੰਦਉ ਲੋਗੁ ॥
Bẖale ninḏa▫o bẖale ninḏa▫o bẖale ninḏa▫o log.
Slander me well, slander me well, slander me well, O people.
|
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ŧan man rām pi▫āre jog. ||1|| rahā▫o.
My body and mind are united with my Beloved Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
ਬਾਦੁ ਬਿਬਾਦੁ ਕਾਹੂ ਸਿਉ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
Bāḏ bibāḏ kāhū si▫o na kījai.
Do not engage in any arguments or debates with anyone.
|
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਨੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੨॥
Rasnā rām rasā▫in pījai. ||2||
With your tongue, savor the Lord's sublime essence. ||2||
|
ਅਬ ਜੀਅ ਜਾਨਿ ਐਸੀ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
Ab jī▫a jān aisī ban ā▫ī.
Now, I know within my soul, that such an arrangement has been made;
|
ਮਿਲਉ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਨੀਸਾਨੁ ਬਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
Mila▫o gupāl nīsān bajā▫ī. ||3||
I will meet with my Lord by the beat of the drum. ||3||
|
ਉਸਤਤਿ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰੈ ਨਰੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
Usṯaṯ ninḏā karai nar ko▫ī.
Anyone can praise or slander me.
|
ਨਾਮੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗੁ ਭੇਟਲ ਸੋਈ ॥੪॥੪॥
Nāme sarīrang bẖetal so▫ī. ||4||4||
Naam Dayv has met the Lord. ||4||4||
|
ਕਬਹੂ ਖੀਰਿ ਖਾਡ ਘੀਉ ਨ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
Kabhū kẖīr kẖād gẖī▫o na bẖāvai.
Sometimes, people do not appreciate milk, sugar and ghee.
|
ਕਬਹੂ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਟੂਕ ਮਗਾਵੈ ॥
Kabhū gẖar gẖar tūk magāvai.
Sometimes, they have to beg for bread from door to door.
|
ਕਬਹੂ ਕੂਰਨੁ ਚਨੇ ਬਿਨਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
Kabhū kūran cẖane bināvai. ||1||
Sometimes, they have to pick out the grain from the chaff. ||1||
|
ਜਿਉ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
Ji▫o rām rākẖai ṯi▫o rahī▫ai re bẖā▫ī.
As the Lord keeps us, so do we live, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Har kī mahimā kicẖẖ kathan na jā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Lord's Glory cannot even be described. ||1||Pause||
|
ਕਬਹੂ ਤੁਰੇ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਨਚਾਵੈ ॥
Kabhū ṯure ṯurang nacẖāvai.
Sometimes, people prance around on horses.
|
ਕਬਹੂ ਪਾਇ ਪਨਹੀਓ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
Kabhū pā▫e panhī▫o na pāvai. ||2||
Sometimes, they do not even have shoes for their feet. ||2||
|
ਕਬਹੂ ਖਾਟ ਸੁਪੇਦੀ ਸੁਵਾਵੈ ॥
Kabhū kẖāt supeḏī suvāvai.
Sometimes, people sleep on cozy beds with white sheets.
|
ਕਬਹੂ ਭੂਮਿ ਪੈਆਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
Kabhū bẖūm pai▫ār na pāvai. ||3||
Sometimes, they do not even have straw to put down on the ground. ||3||
|
ਭਨਤਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਇਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੈ ॥
Bẖanaṯ nāmḏe▫o ik nām nisṯārai.
Naam Dayv prays, only the Naam, the Name of the Lord, can save us.

ਜਿਹ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਿਹ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੫॥
Jih gur milai ṯih pār uṯārai. ||4||5||
One who meets the Guru, is carried across to the other side. ||4||5||
|
ਹਸਤ ਖੇਲਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੇਹੁਰੇ ਆਇਆ ॥
Hasaṯ kẖelaṯ ṯere ḏehure ā▫i▫ā.
Laughing and playing, I came to Your Temple, O Lord.
|
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਤ ਨਾਮਾ ਪਕਰਿ ਉਠਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
Bẖagaṯ karaṯ nāmā pakar uṯẖā▫i▫ā. ||1||
While Naam Dayv was worshipping, he was grabbed and driven out. ||1||
|
ਹੀਨੜੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਦਿਮ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
Hīnṛī jāṯ merī jāḏim rā▫i▫ā.
I am of a low social class, O Lord;
|
ਛੀਪੇ ਕੇ ਜਨਮਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Cẖẖīpe ke janam kāhe ka▫o ā▫i▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
why was I born into a family of fabric dyers? ||1||Pause||
|
ਲੈ ਕਮਲੀ ਚਲਿਓ ਪਲਟਾਇ ॥
Lai kamlī cẖali▫o paltā▫e.
I picked up my blanket and went back,
|
ਦੇਹੁਰੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਬੈਠਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
Ḏehurai pācẖẖai baiṯẖā jā▫e. ||2||
to sit behind the temple. ||2||
|
ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਰੈ ॥
Ji▫o ji▫o nāmā har guṇ ucẖrai.
As Naam Dayv uttered the Glorious Praises of the Lord,
|
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਕਉ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਫਿਰੈ ॥੩॥੬॥
Bẖagaṯ janāʼn ka▫o ḏehurā firai. ||3||6||
the temple turned around to face the Lord's humble devotee. ||3||6||

ਭੈਰਉ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਜੀਉ ਘਰੁ ੨
Bẖairo nāmḏe▫o jī▫o gẖar 2

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
|
ਜੈਸੀ ਭੂਖੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਅਨਾਜ ॥
Jaisī bẖūkẖe parīṯ anāj.
As the hungry person loves food,
|
ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾਵੰਤ ਜਲ ਸੇਤੀ ਕਾਜ ॥
Ŧarikẖāvaʼnṯ jal seṯī kāj.
and the thirsty person is obsessed with water,
|
ਜੈਸੀ ਮੂੜ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਪਰਾਇਣ ॥
Jaisī mūṛ kutamb parā▫iṇ.
and as the fool is attached to his family-
|
ਐਸੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਰਾਇਣ ॥੧॥
Aisī nāme parīṯ narā▫iṇ. ||1||
just so, the Lord is very dear to Naam Dayv. ||1||
|
ਨਾਮੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
Nāme parīṯ nārā▫iṇ lāgī.
Naam Dayv is in love with the Lord.
|
ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਭਇਓ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sahj subẖā▫e bẖa▫i▫o bairāgī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He has naturally and intuitively become detached from the world. ||1||Pause||
|
ਜੈਸੀ ਪਰ ਪੁਰਖਾ ਰਤ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
Jaisī par purkẖā raṯ nārī.
Like the woman who falls in love with another man,
|
ਲੋਭੀ ਨਰੁ ਧਨ ਕਾ ਹਿਤਕਾਰੀ ॥
Lobẖī nar ḏẖan kā hiṯkārī.
and the greedy man who loves only wealth,
|
ਕਾਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਾਮਨੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
Kāmī purakẖ kāmnī pi▫ārī.
and the sexually promiscuous man who loves women and sex,
|
ਐਸੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
Aisī nāme parīṯ murārī. ||2||
just so, Naam Dayv is in love with the Lord. ||2||
|
ਸਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਿ ਆਪੇ ਲਾਏ ॥
Sā▫ī parīṯ jė āpe lā▫e.
But that alone is real love, which the Lord Himself inspires;
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਜਾਏ ॥
Gur parsādī ḏubiḏẖā jā▫e.
by Guru's Grace, duality is eradicated.
|
ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਤੂਟਸਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
Kabahu na ṯūtas rahi▫ā samā▫e.
Such love never breaks; through it, the mortal remains merged in the Lord.
|
ਨਾਮੇ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ॥੩॥
Nāme cẖiṯ lā▫i▫ā sacẖ nā▫e. ||3||
Naam Dayv has focused his consciousness on the True Name. ||3||
|
ਜੈਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
Jaisī parīṯ bārik ar māṯā.
Like the love between the child and its mother,
|
ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
Aisā har seṯī man rāṯā.
so is my mind imbued with the Lord.
|
ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
Paraṇvai nāmḏe▫o lāgī parīṯ.
Prays Naam Dayv, I am in love with the Lord.
|
ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਬਸੈ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਚੀਤਿ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥
Gobiḏ basai hamārai cẖīṯ. ||4||1||7||
The Lord of the Universe abides within my consciousness. ||4||1||7||
|
ਘਰ ਕੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਤਿਆਗੈ ਅੰਧਾ ॥
Gẖar kī nār ṯi▫āgai anḏẖā.
The blind fool abandons the wife of his own home,
|
