ਸਰਬ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਣੇ ॥
सरब मनोरथ पूरन करणे ॥
Sarab manorath pūran karṇe.
All the desires of my mind have been perfectly fulfilled.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗਾਵਤ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
आठ पहर गावत भगवंतु ॥
Āṯẖ pahar gāvaṯ bẖagvanṯ.
Twenty-four hours a day, I sing of the Lord God.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੰਤੁ ॥੧॥
सतिगुरि दीनो पूरा मंतु ॥१॥
Saṯgur ḏīno pūrā manṯ. ||1||
The True Guru has imparted this perfect wisdom. ||1||
|
ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
सो वडभागी जिसु नामि पिआरु ॥
So vadbẖāgī jis nām pi▫ār.
Very fortunate are those who love the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
|
ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तिस कै संगि तरै संसारु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧis kai sang ṯarai sansār. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Associating with them, we cross over the world-ocean. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸੋਈ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਿ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਏਕ ॥
सोई गिआनी जि सिमरै एक ॥
So▫ī gi▫ānī jė simrai ek.
They are spiritual teachers, who meditate in remembrance on the One Lord.
|
ਸੋ ਧਨਵੰਤਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥
सो धनवंता जिसु बुधि बिबेक ॥
So ḏẖanvanṯā jis buḏẖ bibek.
Wealthy are those who have a discriminating intellect.
|
ਸੋ ਕੁਲਵੰਤਾ ਜਿ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
सो कुलवंता जि सिमरै सुआमी ॥
So kulvanṯā jė simrai su▫āmī.
Noble are those who remember their Lord and Master in meditation.
|
ਸੋ ਪਤਿਵੰਤਾ ਜਿ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
सो पतिवंता जि आपु पछानी ॥२॥
So paṯivanṯā jė āp pacẖẖānī. ||2||
Honorable are those who understand their own selves. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
गुर परसादि परम पदु पाइआ ॥
Gur parsāḏ param paḏ pā▫i▫ā.
By Guru's Grace, I have obtained the supreme status.
|
ਗੁਣ ਗੋੁਪਾਲ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
गुण गोपाल दिनु रैनि धिआइआ ॥
Guṇ gopāl ḏin rain ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā.
Day and night I meditate on the Glories of God.
|
ਤੂਟੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
तूटे बंधन पूरन आसा ॥
Ŧūte banḏẖan pūran āsā.
My bonds are broken, and my hopes are fulfilled.
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ॥੩॥
हरि के चरण रिद माहि निवासा ॥३॥
Har ke cẖaraṇ riḏ māhi nivāsā. ||3||
The Feet of the Lord now abide in my heart. ||3||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਮਾ ॥
कहु नानक जा के पूरन करमा ॥
Kaho Nānak jā ke pūran karmā.
Says Nanak, one whose karma is perfect-
|
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਆਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
सो जनु आइआ प्रभ की सरना ॥
So jan ā▫i▫ā parabẖ kī sarnā.
that humble being enters the Sanctuary of God.

ਆਪਿ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਪਾਵਨ ਸਭਿ ਕੀਨੇ ॥
आपि पवितु पावन सभि कीने ॥
Āp paviṯ pāvan sabẖ kīne.
He himself is pure, and he sanctifies all.
|
ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ॥੪॥੩੫॥੪੮॥
राम रसाइणु रसना चीन्हे ॥४॥३५॥४८॥
Rām rasā▫iṇ rasnā cẖīnĥe. ||4||35||48||
His tongue chants the Name of the Lord, the Source of Nectar. ||4||35||48||

भैरउ महला ५ ॥

ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
नामु लैत किछु बिघनु न लागै ॥
Nām laiṯ kicẖẖ bigẖan na lāgai.
Repeating the Naam, the Name of the Lord, no obstacles block the way.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਤ ਜਮੁ ਦੂਰਹੁ ਭਾਗੈ ॥
नामु सुणत जमु दूरहु भागै ॥
Nām suṇaṯ jam ḏẖūrahu bẖāgai.
Listening to the Naam, the Messenger of Death runs far away.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਸਭ ਦੂਖਹ ਨਾਸੁ ॥
नामु लैत सभ दूखह नासु ॥
Nām laiṯ sabẖ ḏūkẖah nās.
Repeating the Naam, all pains vanish.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
नामु जपत हरि चरण निवासु ॥१॥
Nām japaṯ har cẖaraṇ nivās. ||1||
Chanting the Naam, the Lord's Lotus Feet dwell within. ||1||
|
ਨਿਰਬਿਘਨ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
निरबिघन भगति भजु हरि हरि नाउ ॥
Nirbigẖan bẖagaṯ bẖaj har har nā▫o.
Meditating, vibrating the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is unobstructed devotional worship.

ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
रसकि रसकि हरि के गुण गाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Rasak rasak har ke guṇ gā▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord with loving affection and energy. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਚਾਖੁ ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ॥
हरि सिमरत किछु चाखु न जोहै ॥
Har simraṯ kicẖẖ cẖākẖ na johai.
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, the Eye of Death cannot see you.
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੈਤ ਦੇਉ ਨ ਪੋਹੈ ॥
हरि सिमरत दैत देउ न पोहै ॥
Har simraṯ ḏaiṯ ḏe▫o na pohai.
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, demons and ghosts shall not touch you.
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਨ ਬਧੈ ॥
हरि सिमरत मोहु मानु न बधै ॥
Har simraṯ moh mān na baḏẖai.
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, attachment and pride shall not bind you.
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਰੁਧੈ ॥੨॥
हरि सिमरत गरभ जोनि न रुधै ॥२॥
Har simraṯ garabẖ jon na ruḏẖai. ||2||
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, you shall not be consigned to the womb of reincarnation. ||2||
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀ ਸਗਲੀ ਬੇਲਾ ॥
हरि सिमरन की सगली बेला ॥
Har simran kī saglī belā.
Any time is a good time to meditate in remembrance on the Lord.
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਬਹੁ ਮਾਹਿ ਇਕੇਲਾ ॥
हरि सिमरनु बहु माहि इकेला ॥
Har simran baho māhi ikelā.
Among the masses, only a few meditate in remembrance on the Lord.
|
ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ ਜਪੈ ਜਨੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
जाति अजाति जपै जनु कोइ ॥
Jāṯ ajāṯ japai jan ko▫e.
Social class or no social class, anyone may meditate on the Lord.
|
ਜੋ ਜਾਪੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
जो जापै तिस की गति होइ ॥३॥
Jo jāpai ṯis kī gaṯ ho▫e. ||3||
Whoever meditates on Him is emancipated. ||3||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ॥
हरि का नामु जपीऐ साधसंगि ॥
Har kā nām japī▫ai sāḏẖsang.
Chant the Name of the Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
हरि के नाम का पूरन रंगु ॥
Har ke nām kā pūran rang.
Perfect is the Love of the Lord's Name.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
नानक कउ प्रभ किरपा धारि ॥
Nānak ka▫o parabẖ kirpā ḏẖār.
O God, shower Your Mercy on Nanak,

ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਚਿਤਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੩੬॥੪੯॥
सासि सासि हरि देहु चितारि ॥४॥३६॥४९॥
Sās sās har ḏeh cẖiṯār. ||4||36||49||
that he may think of you with each and every breath. ||4||36||49||

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
भैरउ महला ५ ॥
Bẖairo mėhlā 5.
Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:

ਆਪੇ ਸਾਸਤੁ ਆਪੇ ਬੇਦੁ ॥
आपे सासतु आपे बेदु ॥
Āpe sāsaṯ āpe beḏ.
He Himself is the Shaastras, and He Himself is the Vedas.
|
ਆਪੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਭੇਦੁ ॥
आपे घटि घटि जाणै भेदु ॥
Āpe gẖat gẖat jāṇai bẖeḏ.
He knows the secrets of each and every heart.
|
ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਵਥੁ ॥
जोति सरूप जा की सभ वथु ॥
Joṯ sarūp jā kī sabẖ vath.
He is the Embodiment of Light; all beings belong to Him.
|
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥੧॥
करण कारण पूरन समरथु ॥१॥
Karaṇ kāraṇ pūran samrath. ||1||
The Creator, the Cause of causes, the Perfect All-powerful Lord. ||1||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਗਹਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
प्रभ की ओट गहहु मन मेरे ॥
Parabẖ kī ot gahhu man mere.
Grab hold of the Support of God, O my mind.
|
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਰਾਧਹੁ ਦੁਸਮਨ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
चरन कमल गुरमुखि आराधहु दुसमन दूखु न आवै नेरे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Cẖaran kamal gurmukẖ ārāḏẖahu ḏusman ḏūkẖ na āvai nere. ||1|| rahā▫o.
As Gurmukh, worship and adore His Lotus Feet; enemies and pains shall not even approach you. ||1||Pause||
|
ਆਪੇ ਵਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
आपे वणु त्रिणु त्रिभवण सारु ॥
Āpe vaṇ ṯariṇ ṯaribẖavaṇ sār.
He Himself is the Essence of the forests and fields, and all the three worlds.
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
जा कै सूति परोइआ संसारु ॥
Jā kai sūṯ paro▫i▫ā sansār.
The universe is strung on His Thread.
|
ਆਪੇ ਸਿਵ ਸਕਤੀ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ॥
आपे सिव सकती संजोगी ॥
Āpe siv sakṯī sanjogī.
He is the Uniter of Shiva and Shakti - mind and matter.
|
ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਆਪੇ ਭੋਗੀ ॥੨॥
आपि निरबाणी आपे भोगी ॥२॥
Āp nirbāṇī āpe bẖogī. ||2||
He Himself is in the detachment of Nirvaanaa, and He Himself is the Enjoyer. ||2||
|
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਤਤ ਸੋਇ ॥
जत कत पेखउ तत तत सोइ ॥
Jaṯ kaṯ pekẖa▫o ṯaṯ ṯaṯ so▫e.
Wherever I look, there He is.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
तिसु बिनु दूजा नाही कोइ ॥
Ŧis bin ḏūjā nāhī ko▫e.
Without Him, there is no one at all.
|
ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰੀਐ ਨਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
सागरु तरीऐ नाम कै रंगि ॥
Sāgar ṯarī▫ai nām kai rang.
In the Love of the Naam, the world-ocean is crossed.
|
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ॥੩॥
गुण गावै नानकु साधसंगि ॥३॥
Guṇ gāvai Nānak sāḏẖsang. ||3||
Nanak sings His Glorious Praises in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3||
|
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਸਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ॥
मुकति भुगति जुगति वसि जा कै ॥
Mukaṯ bẖugaṯ jugaṯ vas jā kai.
Liberation, the ways and means of enjoyment and union are under His Control.
|
ਊਣਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਨ ਤਾ ਕੈ ॥
ऊणा नाही किछु जन ता कै ॥
Ūṇā nāhī kicẖẖ jan ṯā kai.
His humble servant lacks nothing.
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ॥
करि किरपा जिसु होइ सुप्रसंन ॥
Kar kirpā jis ho▫e suparsan.
That person, with whom the Lord, in His Mercy, is pleased -
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸੇਈ ਜਨ ਧੰਨ ॥੪॥੩੭॥੫੦॥
नानक दास सेई जन धंन ॥४॥३७॥५०॥
Nānak ḏās se▫ī jan ḏẖan. ||4||37||50||
O slave Nanak, that humble servant is blessed. ||4||37||50||

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਭਗਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
भगता मनि आनंदु गोबिंद ॥
Bẖagṯā man ānanḏ gobinḏ.
The minds of the Lord's devotee are filled with bliss.
|
ਅਸਥਿਤਿ ਭਏ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਸਭ ਚਿੰਦ ॥
असथिति भए बिनसी सभ चिंद ॥
Asthiṯ bẖa▫e binsī sabẖ cẖinḏ.
They become stable and permanent, and all their anxiety is gone.
