ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥੨॥
नामे नामि मिलै वडिआई जिस नो मंनि वसाए ॥२॥
Nāme nām milai vadi▫ā▫ī jis no man vasā▫e. ||2||
Through the Naam, glorious greatness is obtained; he alone obtains it, whose mind is filled with the Lord. ||2||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਤਾ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਏ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੁ
सतिगुरु भेटै ता फलु पाए सचु करणी सुख सारु ॥
Saṯgur bẖetai ṯā fal pā▫e sacẖ karṇī sukẖ sār.
Meeting the True Guru, the fruitful rewards are obtained. This true lifestyle beings sublime peace.

ਸੇ ਜਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਧਰਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੩॥
से जन निरमल जो हरि लागे हरि नामे धरहि पिआरु ॥३॥
Se jan nirmal jo har lāge har nāme ḏẖarėh pi▫ār. ||3||
Those humble beings who are attached to the Lord are immaculate; they enshrine love for the Lord's Name. ||3||

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾਂ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਾਈ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਧਿਆਇਆ
तिन की रेणु मिलै तां मसतकि लाई जिन सतिगुरु पूरा धिआइआ ॥
Ŧin kī reṇ milai ṯāʼn masṯak lā▫ī jin saṯgur pūrā ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā.
If I obtain the dust of their feet, I apply it to my forehead. They meditate on the Perfect True Guru.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੩॥
नानक तिन की रेणु पूरै भागि पाईऐ जिनी राम नामि चितु लाइआ ॥४॥३॥१३॥
Nānak ṯin kī reṇ pūrai bẖāg pā▫ī▫ai jinī rām nām cẖiṯ lā▫i▫ā. ||4||3||13||
O Nanak, this dust is obtained only by perfect destiny. They focus their consciousness on the Lord's Name. ||4||3||13||

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ
भैरउ महला ३ ॥
Bẖairo mėhlā 3.
Bhairao, Third Mehl:

ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਈ
सबदु बीचारे सो जनु साचा जिन कै हिरदै साचा सोई ॥
Sabaḏ bīcẖāre so jan sācẖā jin kai hirḏai sācẖā so▫ī.
That humble being who contemplates the Word of the Shabad is true; the True Lord is within his heart.

ਸਾਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਤਨਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥
साची भगति करहि दिनु राती तां तनि दूखु न होई ॥१॥
Sācẖī bẖagaṯ karahi ḏin rāṯī ṯāʼn ṯan ḏūkẖ na ho▫ī. ||1||
If someone performs true devotional worship day and night, then his body will not feel pain. ||1||

ਭਗਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਕਹੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ
भगतु भगतु कहै सभु कोई ॥
Bẖagaṯ bẖagaṯ kahai sabẖ ko▫ī.
Everyone calls him, "Devotee, devotee.

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
बिनु सतिगुर सेवे भगति न पाईऐ पूरै भागि मिलै प्रभु सोई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bin saṯgur seve bẖagaṯ na pā▫ī▫ai pūrai bẖāg milai parabẖ so▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
But without serving the True Guru, devotional worship is not obtained. Only through perfect destiny does one meet God. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੂਲੁ ਗਵਾਵਹਿ ਲਾਭੁ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਲਾਭੁ ਕਿਦੂ ਹੋਈ
मनमुख मूलु गवावहि लाभु मागहि लाहा लाभु किदू होई ॥
Manmukẖ mūl gavāvėh lābẖ māgėh lāhā lābẖ kiḏū ho▫ī.
The self-willed manmukhs lose their capital, and still, they demand profits. How can they earn any profit?

ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥੨॥
जमकालु सदा है सिर ऊपरि दूजै भाइ पति खोई ॥२॥
Jamkāl saḏā hai sir ūpar ḏūjai bẖā▫e paṯ kẖo▫ī. ||2||
The Messenger of Death is always hovering above their heads. In the love of duality, they lose their honor. ||2||

ਬਹਲੇ ਭੇਖ ਭਵਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਜਾਈ
बहले भेख भवहि दिनु राती हउमै रोगु न जाई ॥
Bahle bẖekẖ bẖavėh ḏin rāṯī ha▫umai rog na jā▫ī.
Trying on all sorts of religious robes, they wander around day and night, but the disease of their egotism is not cured.

ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਲੂਝਹਿ ਬਾਦੁ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੩॥
पड़ि पड़ि लूझहि बादु वखाणहि मिलि माइआ सुरति गवाई ॥३॥
Paṛ paṛ lūjẖėh bāḏ vakāṇėh mil mā▫i▫ā suraṯ gavā▫ī. ||3||
Reading and studying, they argue and debate; attached to Maya, they lose their awareness. ||3||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ
सतिगुरु सेवहि परम गति पावहि नामि मिलै वडिआई ॥
Saṯgur sevėh param gaṯ pāvahi nām milai vadi▫ā▫ī.
Those who serve the True Guru are blessed with the supreme status; through the Naam, they are blessed with glorious greatness.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੪॥
नानक नामु जिना मनि वसिआ दरि साचै पति पाई ॥४॥४॥१४॥
Nānak nām jinā man vasi▫ā ḏar sācẖai paṯ pā▫ī. ||4||4||14||
O Nanak, those whose minds are filled with the Naam, are honored in the Court of the True Lord. ||4||4||14||

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ
भैरउ महला ३ ॥
Bẖairo mėhlā 3.
Bhairao, Third Mehl:

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਆਸਾ ਨਹੀ ਉਤਰੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਏ
मनमुख आसा नही उतरै दूजै भाइ खुआए ॥
Manmukẖ āsā nahī uṯrai ḏūjai bẖā▫e kẖu▫ā▫e.
The self-willed manmukh cannot escape false hope. In the love of duality, he is ruined.

ਉਦਰੁ ਨੈ ਸਾਣੁ ਭਰੀਐ ਕਬਹੂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਪਚਾਏ ॥੧॥
उदरु नै साणु न भरीऐ कबहू त्रिसना अगनि पचाए ॥१॥
Uḏar nai sāṇ na bẖarī▫ai kabhū ṯarisnā agan pacẖā▫e. ||1||
His belly is like a river - it is never filled up. He is consumed by the fire of desire. ||1||

ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਰਾਤੇ
सदा अनंदु राम रसि राते ॥
Saḏā anand rām ras rāṯe.
Eternally blissful are those who are imbued with the sublime essence of the Lord.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
हिरदै नामु दुबिधा मनि भागी हरि हरि अम्रितु पी त्रिपताते ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Hirḏai nām ḏubiḏẖā man bẖāgī har har amriṯ pī ṯaripṯāṯe. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, fills their hearts, and duality runs away from their minds. Drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord, Har, Har, they are satisfied. ||1||Pause||

ਆਪੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਜੀ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਏ
आपे पारब्रहमु स्रिसटि जिनि साजी सिरि सिरि धंधै लाए ॥
Āpe pārbarahm sarisat jin sājī sir sir ḏẖanḏẖai lā▫e.
The Supreme Lord God Himself created the Universe; He links each and every person to their tasks.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਕੀਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਾਏ ॥੨॥
माइआ मोहु कीआ जिनि आपे आपे दूजै लाए ॥२॥
Mā▫i▫ā moh kī▫ā jin āpe āpe ḏūjai lā▫e. ||2||
He Himself created love and attachment to Maya; He Himself attaches the mortals to duality. ||2||

ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਿਹੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਜੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਧੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਏ
तिस नो किहु कहीऐ जे दूजा होवै सभि तुधै माहि समाए ॥
Ŧis no kihu kahī▫ai je ḏūjā hovai sabẖ ṯuḏẖai māhi samā▫e.
If there were any other, then I would speak to him; all will be merged in You.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੩॥
गुरमुखि गिआनु ततु बीचारा जोती जोति मिलाए ॥३॥
Gurmukẖ gi▫ān ṯaṯ bīcẖārā joṯī joṯ milā▫e. ||3||
The Gurmukh contemplates the essence of spiritual wisdom; his light merges into the Light. ||3||

ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਭੁ ਆਕਾਰਾ
सो प्रभु साचा सद ही साचा साचा सभु आकारा ॥
So parabẖ sācẖā saḏ hī sācẖā sācẖā sabẖ ākārā.
God is True, Forever True, and all His Creation is True.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੫॥
नानक सतिगुरि सोझी पाई सचि नामि निसतारा ॥४॥५॥१५॥
Nānak saṯgur sojẖī pā▫ī sacẖ nām nisṯārā. ||4||5||15||
O Nanak, the True Guru has given me this understanding; the True Name brings emancipation. ||4||5||15||

ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਸਤਜੁਗਿ ਪਰਮ ਹੰਸ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ
कलि महि प्रेत जिन्ही रामु न पछाता सतजुगि परम हंस बीचारी ॥
Kal mėh pareṯ jinĥī rām na pacẖẖāṯā saṯjug param hans bīcẖārī.
In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, those who do not realize the Lord are goblins. In the Golden Age of Sat Yuga, the supreme soul-swans contemplated the Lord.

ਦੁਆਪੁਰਿ ਤ੍ਰੇਤੈ ਮਾਣਸ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
दुआपुरि त्रेतै माणस वरतहि विरलै हउमै मारी ॥१॥
Ḏu▫āpur ṯareṯai māṇas varṯėh virlai ha▫umai mārī. ||1||
In the Silver Age of Dwaapur Yuga, and the Brass Age of Traytaa Yuga, mankind prevailed, but only a rare few subdued their egos. ||1||

ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ
कलि महि राम नामि वडिआई ॥
Kal mėh rām nām vadi▫ā▫ī.
In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, glorious greatness is obtained through the Lord's Name.

ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जुगि जुगि गुरमुखि एको जाता विणु नावै मुकति न पाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jug jug gurmukẖ eko jāṯā viṇ nāvai mukaṯ na pā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
In each and every age, the Gurmukhs know the One Lord; without the Name, liberation is not attained. ||1||Pause||

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਖੈ ਜਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ
हिरदै नामु लखै जनु साचा गुरमुखि मंनि वसाई ॥
Hirḏai nām lakẖai jan sācẖā gurmukẖ man vasā▫ī.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is revealed in the heart of the True Lord's humble servant. It dwells in the mind of the Gurmukh.

ਆਪਿ ਤਰੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੨॥
आपि तरे सगले कुल तारे जिनी राम नामि लिव लाई ॥२॥
Āp ṯare sagle kul ṯāre jinī rām nām liv lā▫ī. ||2||
Those who are lovingly focused on the Lord's Name save themselves; they save all their ancestors as well. ||2||

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਣ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਅਵਗਣ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ
मेरा प्रभु है गुण का दाता अवगण सबदि जलाए ॥
Merā parabẖ hai guṇ kā ḏāṯā avgaṇ sabaḏ jalā▫e.
My Lord God is the Giver of virtue. The Word of the Shabad burns away all faults and demerits.
