ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਰੁਚੈ
हरि के नाम की मन रुचै ॥
Har ke nām kī man rucẖai.
My mind is filled with yearning for the Name of the Lord.

ਕੋਟਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਲਤ ਛਾਤੀ ਬੁਝੈ ਰਹਾਉ
कोटि सांति अनंद पूरन जलत छाती बुझै ॥ रहाउ ॥
Kot sāʼnṯ anand pūran jalaṯ cẖẖāṯī bujẖai. Rahā▫o.
I am totally filled with tranquility and bliss; the burning desire within has been quenched. ||Pause||

ਸੰਤ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਰੇ ਮੁਚੈ
संत मारगि चलत प्रानी पतित उधरे मुचै ॥
Sanṯ mārag cẖalaṯ parānī paṯiṯ uḏẖre mucẖai.
Walking on the path of the Saints, millions of mortal sinners have been saved.

ਰੇਨੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਲਗੀ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਤੀਰਥ ਸੁਚੈ ॥੧॥
रेनु जन की लगी मसतकि अनिक तीरथ सुचै ॥१॥
Ren jan kī lagī masṯak anik ṯirath sucẖai. ||1||
One who applies the dust of the feet of the humble to his forehead, is purified, as if he has bathed at countless sacred shrines. ||1||

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਝੈ
चरन कमल धिआन भीतरि घटि घटहि सुआमी सुझै ॥
Cẖaran kamal ḏẖi▫ān bẖīṯar gẖat gẖatėh su▫āmī sujẖai.
Meditating on His Lotus Feet deep within, one realizes the Lord and Master in each and every heart.

ਸਰਨਿ ਦੇਵ ਅਪਾਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਜਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਲੁਝੈ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੫॥
सरनि देव अपार नानक बहुरि जमु नही लुझै ॥२॥७॥१५॥
Saran ḏev apār Nānak bahur jam nahī lujẖai. ||2||7||15||
In the Sanctuary of the Divine, Infinite Lord, Nanak shall never again be tortured by the Messenger of Death. ||2||7||15||

Kaydaaraa Chhant, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਮਿਲੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਰਹਾਉ
मिलु मेरे प्रीतम पिआरिआ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Mil mere parīṯam pi▫āri▫ā. Rahā▫o.
Please meet me, O my Dear Beloved. ||Pause||

ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਮੈ ਸੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ
पूरि रहिआ सरबत्र मै सो पुरखु बिधाता ॥
Pūr rahi▫ā sarbaṯar mai so purakẖ biḏẖāṯā.
He is All-pervading amongst all, the Architect of Destiny.

ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਸੰਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਤਾ
मारगु प्रभ का हरि कीआ संतन संगि जाता ॥
Mārag parabẖ kā har kī▫ā sanṯan sang jāṯā.
The Lord God has created His Path, which is known in the Society of the Saints.

ਸੰਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਆ
संतन संगि जाता पुरखु बिधाता घटि घटि नदरि निहालिआ ॥
Sanṯan sang jāṯā purakẖ biḏẖāṯā gẖat gẖat naḏar nihāli▫ā.
The Creator Lord, the Architect of Destiny, is known in the Society of the Saints; You are seen in each and every heart.

ਜੋ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਵੈ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵੈ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਭੰਨੈ ਘਾਲਿਆ
जो सरनी आवै सरब सुख पावै तिलु नही भंनै घालिआ ॥
Jo sarnī āvai sarab sukẖ pāvai ṯil nahī bẖannai gẖāli▫ā.
One who comes to His Sanctuary, finds absolute peace; not even a bit of his work goes unnoticed.

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਏ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਏ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸ ਮਾਤਾ
हरि गुण निधि गाए सहज सुभाए प्रेम महा रस माता ॥
Har guṇ niḏẖ gā▫e sahj subẖā▫e parem mahā ras māṯā.
One who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the Treasure of Virtue, is easily, naturally intoxicated with the supreme, sublime essence of divine love.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਤੂ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
नानक दास तेरी सरणाई तू पूरन पुरखु बिधाता ॥१॥
Nānak ḏās ṯerī sarṇā▫ī ṯū pūran purakẖ biḏẖāṯā. ||1||
Slave Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary; You are the Perfect Creator Lord, the Architect of Destiny. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਨ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਸੇ ਆਨ ਕਤ ਜਾਹੀ
हरि प्रेम भगति जन बेधिआ से आन कत जाही ॥
Har parem bẖagaṯ jan beḏẖi▫ā se ān kaṯ jāhī.
The Lord's humble servant is pierced through with loving devotion to Him; where else can he go?

ਮੀਨੁ ਬਿਛੋਹਾ ਨਾ ਸਹੈ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਰਿ ਪਾਹੀ
मीनु बिछोहा ना सहै जल बिनु मरि पाही ॥
Mīn bicẖẖohā nā sahai jal bin mar pāhī.
The fish cannot endure separation, and without water, it will die.

ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ਦੂਖ ਕਿਨਿ ਸਹੀਐ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਬੂੰਦ ਪਿਆਸਿਆ
हरि बिनु किउ रहीऐ दूख किनि सहीऐ चात्रिक बूंद पिआसिआ ॥
Har bin ki▫o rahī▫ai ḏūkẖ kin sahī▫ai cẖāṯrik būnḏ pi▫āsi▫ā.
Without the Lord, how can I survive? How can I endure the pain? I am like the rainbird, thirsty for the rain-drop.

ਕਬ ਰੈਨਿ ਬਿਹਾਵੈ ਚਕਵੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੂਰਜ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਆ
कब रैनि बिहावै चकवी सुखु पावै सूरज किरणि प्रगासिआ ॥
Kab rain bihāvai cẖakvī sukẖ pāvai sūraj kiraṇ pargāsi▫ā.
When will the night pass?, asks the chakvi bird. "I shall find peace only when the rays of the sun shine on me.

ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਿ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਸਭਾਗਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹੀ
हरि दरसि मनु लागा दिनसु सभागा अनदिनु हरि गुण गाही ॥
Har ḏaras man lāgā ḏinas sabẖāgā an▫ḏin har guṇ gāhī.
My mind is attached to the Blessed Vision of the Lord. Blessed are the nights and days, when I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord,

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਕਤ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਟਿਕਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
नानक दासु कहै बेनंती कत हरि बिनु प्राण टिकाही ॥२॥
Nānak ḏās kahai benanṯī kaṯ har bin parāṇ tikāhī. ||2||
Slave Nanak utters this prayer; without the Lord, how can the breath of life continue to flow through me? ||2||

ਸਾਸ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਉ ਦੇਹੁਰੀ ਕਤ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵੈ
सास बिना जिउ देहुरी कत सोभा पावै ॥
Sās binā ji▫o ḏehurī kaṯ sobẖā pāvai.
Without the breath, how can the body obtain glory and fame?

ਦਰਸ ਬਿਹੂਨਾ ਸਾਧ ਜਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਟਿਕਣੁ ਆਵੈ
दरस बिहूना साध जनु खिनु टिकणु न आवै ॥
Ḏaras bihūnā sāḏẖ jan kẖin tikaṇ na āvai.
Without the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, the humble, holy person does not find peace, even for an instant.

ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੋ ਰਹਣਾ ਨਰਕੁ ਸੋ ਸਹਣਾ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ
हरि बिनु जो रहणा नरकु सो सहणा चरन कमल मनु बेधिआ ॥
Har bin jo rahṇā narak so sahṇā cẖaran kamal man beḏẖi▫ā.
Those who are without the Lord suffer in hell; my mind is pierced through with the Lord's Feet.

ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿਕ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਕਤਹੁ ਜਾਇ ਨਿਖੇਧਿਆ
हरि रसिक बैरागी नामि लिव लागी कतहु न जाइ निखेधिआ ॥
Har rasik bairāgī nām liv lāgī kaṯahu na jā▫e nikẖeḏẖi▫ā.
The Lord is both sensual and unattached; lovingly attune yourself to the Naam, the Name of the Lord. No one can ever deny Him.

ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰਹਣਾ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਅੰਕਿ ਮਾਵੈ
हरि सिउ जाइ मिलणा साधसंगि रहणा सो सुखु अंकि न मावै ॥
Har si▫o jā▫e milṇā sāḏẖsang rahṇā so sukẖ ank na māvai.
Go and meet with the Lord, and dwell in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; no one can contain that peace within his being.

ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
होहु क्रिपाल नानक के सुआमी हरि चरनह संगि समावै ॥३॥
Hohu kirpāl Nānak ke su▫āmī har cẖarnah sang samāvai. ||3||
Please be kind to me, O Lord and Master of Nanak, that I may merge in You. ||3||

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਧਾਰੇ
खोजत खोजत प्रभ मिले हरि करुणा धारे ॥
Kẖojaṯ kẖojaṯ parabẖ mile har karuṇā ḏẖāre.
Searching and searching, I have met with my Lord God, who has showered me with His Mercy.

ਨਿਰਗੁਣੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਮੈ ਨਹੀ ਦੋਖ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ
निरगुणु नीचु अनाथु मै नही दोख बीचारे ॥
Nirguṇ nīcẖ anāth mai nahī ḏokẖ bīcẖāre.
I am unworthy, a lowly orphan, but He does not even consider my faults.

ਨਹੀ ਦੋਖ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਬਖਾਨਿਆ
नही दोख बीचारे पूरन सुख सारे पावन बिरदु बखानिआ ॥
Nahī ḏokẖ bīcẖāre pūran sukẖ sāre pāvan biraḏ bakẖāni▫ā.
He does not consider my faults; He has blessed me with Perfect Peace. It is said that it is His Way to purify us.

ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਸੁਨਿ ਅੰਚਲੋੁ ਗਹਿਆ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰ ਸਮਾਨਿਆ
भगति वछलु सुनि अंचलो गहिआ घटि घटि पूर समानिआ ॥
Bẖagaṯ vacẖẖal sun ancẖlo gahi▫ā gẖat gẖat pūr samāni▫ā.
Hearing that He is the Love of His devotees, I have grasped the hem of His robe. He is totally permeating each and every heart.

ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੋੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਖ ਹਾਰੇ
सुख सागरो पाइआ सहज सुभाइआ जनम मरन दुख हारे ॥
Sukẖ sāgro pā▫i▫ā sahj subẖā▫i▫ā janam maran ḏukẖ hāre.
I have found the Lord, the Ocean of Peace, with intuitive ease; the pains of birth and death are gone.

ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਉਰਿ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥
करु गहि लीने नानक दास अपने राम नाम उरि हारे ॥४॥१॥
Kar gėh līne Nānak ḏās apne rām nām ur hāre. ||4||1||
Taking him by the hand, the Lord has saved Nanak, His slave; He has woven the garland of His Name into his heart. ||4||1||
