ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਈਅਨਿ ਤਿਤੈ ਲਗਦੀਆ ਨਹ ਖਿੰਜੋਤਾੜਾ
जितु लाईअनि तितै लगदीआ नह खिंजोताड़ा ॥
Jiṯ lā▫ī▫an ṯiṯai lagḏī▫ā nah kẖinjoṯāṛā.
Wherever I join them, there they are joined; they do not struggle against me.

ਜੋ ਇਛੀ ਸੋ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵਾੜਾ
जो इछी सो फलु पाइदा गुरि अंदरि वाड़ा ॥
Jo icẖẖī so fal pā▫iḏā gur anḏar vāṛā.
I obtain the fruits of my desires; the Guru has directed me within.

ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਭਾਇਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਦਾ ਨੇੜਾ ॥੧੦॥
गुरु नानकु तुठा भाइरहु हरि वसदा नेड़ा ॥१०॥
Gur Nānak ṯuṯẖā bẖā▫irahu har vasḏā neṛā. ||10||
When Guru Nanak is pleased, O Siblings of Destiny, the Lord is seen to be dwelling near at hand. ||10||

ਡਖਣੇ ਮਃ
डखणे मः ५ ॥
Dakẖ▫ṇe mėhlā 5.
Dakhanay, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਾ ਮੂੰ ਆਵਹਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਤੂ ਤਾ ਹਭੇ ਸੁਖ ਲਹਾਉ
जा मूं आवहि चिति तू ता हभे सुख लहाउ ॥
Jā mūʼn āvahi cẖiṯ ṯū ṯā habẖe sukẖ lahā▫o.
When You come into my consciousness, then I obtain all peace and comfort.

ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮੰਝਿ ਰੰਗਾਵਲਾ ਪਿਰੀ ਤਹਿਜਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥
नानक मन ही मंझि रंगावला पिरी तहिजा नाउ ॥१॥
Nānak man hī manjẖ rangvālā pirī ṯahijā nā▫o. ||1||
Nanak: with Your Name within my mind, O my Husband Lord, I am filled with delight. ||1||

Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਕਪੜ ਭੋਗ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਹਭੇ ਹੀ ਛਾਰ
कपड़ भोग विकार ए हभे ही छार ॥
Kapaṛ bẖog vikār e habẖe hī cẖẖār.
Enjoyment of clothes and corrupt pleasures - all these are nothing more than dust.

ਖਾਕੁ ਲੋੁੜੇਦਾ ਤੰਨਿ ਖੇ ਜੋ ਰਤੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ॥੨॥
खाकु लोड़ेदा तंनि खे जो रते दीदार ॥२॥
Kẖāk loṛeḏā ṯann kẖe jo raṯe ḏīḏār. ||2||
I long for the dust of the feet of those who are imbued with the Lord's Vision. ||2||

ਮਃ
मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਕਿਆ ਤਕਹਿ ਬਿਆ ਪਾਸ ਕਰਿ ਹੀਅੜੇ ਹਿਕੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ
किआ तकहि बिआ पास करि हीअड़े हिकु अधारु ॥
Ki▫ā ṯakėh bi▫ā pās kar hī▫aṛe hik aḏẖār.
Why do you look in other directions? O my heart, take the Support of the Lord alone.

ਥੀਉ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਭੀ ਸੁਖ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
थीउ संतन की रेणु जितु लभी सुख दातारु ॥३॥
Thī▫o sanṯan kī reṇ jiṯ labẖī sukẖ ḏāṯār. ||3||
Become the dust of the feet of the Saints, and find the Lord, the Giver of peace. ||3||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਵਿਣੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਨੂਆ ਲਗੈ
विणु करमा हरि जीउ न पाईऐ बिनु सतिगुर मनूआ न लगै ॥
viṇ karmā har jī▫o na pā▫ī▫ai bin saṯgur manū▫ā na lagai.
Without good karma, the Dear Lord is not found; without the True Guru, the mind is not joined to Him.

ਧਰਮੁ ਧੀਰਾ ਕਲਿ ਅੰਦਰੇ ਇਹੁ ਪਾਪੀ ਮੂਲਿ ਤਗੈ
धरमु धीरा कलि अंदरे इहु पापी मूलि न तगै ॥
Ḏẖaram ḏẖīrā kal anḏre ih pāpī mūl na ṯagai.
Only the Dharma remains stable in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga; these sinners will not last at all.

ਅਹਿ ਕਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਅਹਿ ਕਰੁ ਪਾਏ ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਮੁਹਤੁ ਲਗੈ
अहि करु करे सु अहि करु पाए इक घड़ी मुहतु न लगै ॥
Ah kar kare so ah kar pā▫e ik gẖaṛī muhaṯ na lagai.
Whatever one does with this hand, he obtains with the other hand, without a moment's delay.

ਚਾਰੇ ਜੁਗ ਮੈ ਸੋਧਿਆ ਵਿਣੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਭਗੈ
चारे जुग मै सोधिआ विणु संगति अहंकारु न भगै ॥
Cẖāre jug mai soḏẖi▫ā viṇ sangaṯ ahaʼnkār na bẖagai.
I have examined the four ages, and without the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, egotism does not depart.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮੂਲਿ ਛੁਟਈ ਵਿਣੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਤਸੰਗੈ
हउमै मूलि न छुटई विणु साधू सतसंगै ॥
Ha▫umai mūl na cẖẖut▫ī viṇ sāḏẖū saṯsangai.
Egotism is never eradicated without the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਤਿਚਰੁ ਥਾਹ ਪਾਵਈ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿਉ ਮਨ ਭੰਗੈ
तिचरु थाह न पावई जिचरु साहिब सिउ मन भंगै ॥
Ŧicẖar thāh na pāv▫ī jicẖar sāhib si▫o man bẖangai.
As long as one's mind is torn away from his Lord and Master, he finds no place of rest.

ਜਿਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਘਰਿ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਅਭਗੈ
जिनि जनि गुरमुखि सेविआ तिसु घरि दीबाणु अभगै ॥
Jin jan gurmukẖ sevi▫ā ṯis gẖar ḏībāṇ abẖgai.
That humble being, who, as Gurmukh, serves the Lord, has the Support of the Imperishable Lord in the home of his heart.

ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਗੈ ॥੧੧॥
हरि किरपा ते सुखु पाइआ गुर सतिगुर चरणी लगै ॥११॥
Har kirpā ṯe sukẖ pā▫i▫ā gur saṯgur cẖarṇī lagai. ||11||
By the Lord's Grace, peace is obtained, and one is attached to the feet of the Guru, the True Guru. ||11||

ਡਖਣੇ ਮਃ
डखणे मः ५ ॥
Dakẖ▫ṇe mėhlā 5.
Dakhanay, Fifth Mehl:

ਲੋੜੀਦੋ ਹਭ ਜਾਇ ਸੋ ਮੀਰਾ ਮੀਰੰਨ ਸਿਰਿ
लोड़ीदो हभ जाइ सो मीरा मीरंन सिरि ॥
Loṛīḏo habẖ jā▫e so mīrā mīrann sir.
I have searched everywhere for the King over the heads of kings.

ਹਠ ਮੰਝਾਹੂ ਸੋ ਧਣੀ ਚਉਦੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਅਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
हठ मंझाहू सो धणी चउदो मुखि अलाइ ॥१॥
Haṯẖ manjẖāhū so ḏẖaṇī cẖa▫uḏo mukẖ alā▫e. ||1||
That Master is within my heart; I chant His Name with my mouth. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਮਾਣਿਕੂ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਉ ਡਿੰਨਾ ਧਣੀ ਅਪਾਹਿ
माणिकू मोहि माउ डिंना धणी अपाहि ॥
Māṇikū mohi mā▫o dinnā ḏẖaṇī apāhi.
O my mother, the Master has blessed me with the jewel.

ਹਿਆਉ ਮਹਿਜਾ ਠੰਢੜਾ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਸਚੁ ਅਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
हिआउ महिजा ठंढड़ा मुखहु सचु अलाइ ॥२॥
Hi▫ā▫o mahijā ṯẖandẖ▫ṛā mukẖahu sacẖ alā▫e. ||2||
My heart is cooled and soothed, chanting the True Name with my mouth. ||2||

ਮਃ
मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਮੂ ਥੀਆਊ ਸੇਜ ਨੈਣਾ ਪਿਰੀ ਵਿਛਾਵਣਾ
मू थीआऊ सेज नैणा पिरी विछावणा ॥
Mū thī▫ā▫ū sej naiṇā pirī vicẖẖāvṇā.
I have become the bed for my Beloved Husband Lord; my eyes have become the sheets.

ਜੇ ਡੇਖੈ ਹਿਕ ਵਾਰ ਤਾ ਸੁਖ ਕੀਮਾ ਹੂ ਬਾਹਰੇ ॥੩॥
जे डेखै हिक वार ता सुख कीमा हू बाहरे ॥३॥
Je dekẖai hik vār ṯā sukẖ kīmā hū bāhre. ||3||
If You look at me, even for an instant, then I obtain peace beyond all price. ||3||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚੈ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਈਆ
मनु लोचै हरि मिलण कउ किउ दरसनु पाईआ ॥
Man locẖai har milaṇ ka▫o ki▫o ḏarsan pā▫ī▫ā.
My mind longs to meet the Lord; how can I obtain the Blessed Vision of His Darshan?

ਮੈ ਲਖ ਵਿੜਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਬਾ ਜੇ ਬਿੰਦ ਬੋੁਲਾਈਆ
मै लख विड़ते साहिबा जे बिंद बोलाईआ ॥
Mai lakẖ viṛ▫ṯe sāhibā je binḏ bolā▫ī▫ā.
I obtain hundreds of thousands, if my Lord and Master speaks to me, even for an instant.

ਮੈ ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਭਾਲੀਆ ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਸਾਈਆ
मै चारे कुंडा भालीआ तुधु जेवडु न साईआ ॥
Mai cẖāre kundā bẖālī▫ā ṯuḏẖ jevad na sā▫ī▫ā.
I have searched in four directions; there is no other as great as You, Lord.

ਮੈ ਦਸਿਹੁ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸੰਤਹੋ ਕਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਈਆ
मै दसिहु मारगु संतहो किउ प्रभू मिलाईआ ॥
Mai ḏasihu mārag sanṯaho ki▫o parabẖū milā▫ī▫ā.
Show me the Path, O Saints. How can I meet God?

ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਿਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਜਹੁ ਇਤੁ ਪੰਥਿ ਜੁਲਾਈਆ
मनु अरपिहु हउमै तजहु इतु पंथि जुलाईआ ॥
Man arpihu ha▫umai ṯajahu iṯ panth julā▫ī▫ā.
I dedicate my mind to Him, and renounce my ego. This is the Path which I shall take.

ਨਿਤ ਸੇਵਿਹੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਈਆ
नित सेविहु साहिबु आपणा सतसंगि मिलाईआ ॥
Niṯ sevihu sāhib āpṇā saṯsang milā▫ī▫ā.
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I serve my Lord and Master continually.

ਸਭੇ ਆਸਾ ਪੂਰੀਆ ਗੁਰ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਈਆ
सभे आसा पूरीआ गुर महलि बुलाईआ ॥
Sabẖe āsā pūrī▫ā gur mahal bulā▫ī▫ā.
All my hopes are fulfilled; the Guru has ushered me into the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.

ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਸੁਝਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੋੁਸਾਈਆ ॥੧੨॥
तुधु जेवडु होरु न सुझई मेरे मित्र गोसाईआ ॥१२॥
Ŧuḏẖ jevad hor na sujẖ▫ī mere miṯar gosā▫ī▫ā. ||12||
I cannot conceive of any other as great as You, O my Friend, O Lord of the World. ||12||

ਡਖਣੇ ਮਃ
डखणे मः ५ ॥
Dakẖ▫ṇe mėhlā 5.
Dakhanay, Fifth Mehl:

ਮੂ ਥੀਆਊ ਤਖਤੁ ਪਿਰੀ ਮਹਿੰਜੇ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ
मू थीआऊ तखतु पिरी महिंजे पातिसाह ॥
Mū thī▫ā▫ū ṯakẖaṯ pirī mahinje pāṯisāh.
I have become the throne for my Beloved Lord King.

ਪਾਵ ਮਿਲਾਵੇ ਕੋਲਿ ਕਵਲ ਜਿਵੈ ਬਿਗਸਾਵਦੋ ॥੧॥
पाव मिलावे कोलि कवल जिवै बिगसावदो ॥१॥
Pāv milāve kol kaval jivai bigsāvḏo. ||1||
If You place Your foot on me, I blossom forth like the lotus flower. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਪਿਰੀਆ ਸੰਦੜੀ ਭੁਖ ਮੂ ਲਾਵਣ ਥੀ ਵਿਥਰਾ
पिरीआ संदड़ी भुख मू लावण थी विथरा ॥
Pirī▫ā sanḏ▫ṛī bẖukẖ mū lāvaṇ thī vithrā.
If my Beloved becomes hungry, I will become food, and place myself before Him.

ਜਾਣੁ ਮਿਠਾਈ ਇਖ ਬੇਈ ਪੀੜੇ ਨਾ ਹੁਟੈ ॥੨॥
जाणु मिठाई इख बेई पीड़े ना हुटै ॥२॥
Jāṇ miṯẖā▫ī ikẖ be▫ī pīṛe nā hutai. ||2||
I may be crushed, again and again, but like sugarcane, I do not stop yielding sweet juice. ||2||

ਮਃ
मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਠਗਾ ਨੀਹੁ ਮਤ੍ਰੋੜਿ ਜਾਣੁ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬਾ ਨਗਰੀ
ठगा नीहु मत्रोड़ि जाणु गंध्रबा नगरी ॥
Ŧẖagā nīhu maṯroṛ jāṇ ganḏẖarbā nagrī.
Break off your love with the cheaters; realize that it is a mirage.

ਸੁਖ ਘਟਾਊ ਡੂਇ ਇਸੁ ਪੰਧਾਣੂ ਘਰ ਘਣੇ ॥੩॥
सुख घटाऊ डूइ इसु पंधाणू घर घणे ॥३॥
Sukẖ gẖatā▫ū dū▫e is panḏẖāṇū gẖar gẖaṇe. ||3||
Your pleasure lasts for only two moments; this traveler wanders through countless homes. ||3||

ਪਉੜੀ

Pauree:

ਅਕਲ ਕਲਾ ਨਹ ਪਾਈਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਲਖ ਅਲੇਖੰ
अकल कला नह पाईऐ प्रभु अलख अलेखं ॥
Akal kalā nah pā▫ī▫ai parabẖ alakẖ alekẖaʼn.
God is not found by intellectual devices; He is unknowable and unseen.
