ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
जनम जनम का रोगु गवाइआ ॥
Janam janam kā rog gavā▫i▫ā.
gets rid of the diseases of many births.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਫਲ ਏਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
हरि कीरतनु गावहु दिनु राती सफल एहा है कारी जीउ ॥३॥
Har kīrṯan gāvhu ḏin rāṯī safal ehā hai kārī jī▫o. ||3||
God's praises do thou sing, O man! day and night. This is the fruitful avocation of human life.

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
द्रिसटि धारि अपना दासु सवारिआ ॥
Ḏarisat ḏẖār apnā ḏās savāri▫ā.
Casting His merciful glance, the Lord has regenerated His slave.
|
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਿਆ ॥
घट घट अंतरि पारब्रहमु नमसकारिआ ॥
Gẖat gẖat anṯar pārbarahm namaskāri▫ā.
In every heart he salutes the Exalted Lord.

ਇਕਸੁ ਵਿਣੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਮਤਿ ਸਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੯॥੪੬॥
इकसु विणु होरु दूजा नाही बाबा नानक इह मति सारी जीउ ॥४॥३९॥४६॥
Ikas viṇ hor ḏūjā nāhī bābā Nānak ih maṯ sārī jī▫o. ||4||39||46||
Without the One Master there is no other second. Nanak this is the essence of all wisdom, O Father.

Majh, Fifth Guru.
|
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
मनु तनु रता राम पिआरे ॥
Man ṯan raṯā rām pi▫āre.
My soul and body are dyed with the beloved pervading God.
|
ਸਰਬਸੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਅਪਨਾ ਵਾਰੇ ॥
सरबसु दीजै अपना वारे ॥
Sarbas ḏījai apnā vāre.
All that is mine, I sacrifice unto Him.
|
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈਐ ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
आठ पहर गोविंद गुण गाईऐ बिसरु न कोई सासा जीउ ॥१॥
Āṯẖ pahar govinḏ guṇ gā▫ī▫ai bisar na ko▫ī sāsā jī▫o. ||1||
All long day sing thou the praises of the world-Lord and forget Him not even for the duration of a breath.

ਸੋਈ ਸਾਜਨ ਮੀਤੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥
सोई साजन मीतु पिआरा ॥
So▫ī sājan mīṯ pi▫ārā.
He alone is friend intimate and beloved,
|
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
राम नामु साधसंगि बीचारा ॥
Rām nām sāḏẖsang bīcẖārā.
who meditates on Lord's Name in the society of saints.
|
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੀਜੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
साधू संगि तरीजै सागरु कटीऐ जम की फासा जीउ ॥२॥
Sāḏẖū sang ṯarījai sāgar katī▫ai jam kī fāsā jī▫o. ||2||
In the congregation of the righteous thou shalt cross the world-ocean and cut death's noose.

ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
चारि पदारथ हरि की सेवा ॥
Cẖār paḏārath har kī sevā.
The four cardinal boons are obtained by God's service.
|
ਪਾਰਜਾਤੁ ਜਪਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵਾ ॥
पारजातु जपि अलख अभेवा ॥
Pārjāṯ jap alakẖ abẖevā.
The elysian tree is the meditation of the unseen and inscrutable Lord.
|
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਟੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਆਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
कामु क्रोधु किलबिख गुरि काटे पूरन होई आसा जीउ ॥३॥
Kām kroḏẖ kilbikẖ gur kāte pūran ho▫ī āsā jī▫o. ||3||
My Sins of lust and wrath the Guru has cut off and my hopes have been fulfilled.
|
ਪੂਰਨ ਭਾਗ ਭਏ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥
पूरन भाग भए जिसु प्राणी ॥
Pūran bẖāg bẖa▫e jis parāṇī.
The mortal who is blessed with the perfect Good fortune,
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਾਰੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥
साधसंगि मिले सारंगपाणी ॥
Sāḏẖsang mile sārangpāṇī.
meets the world -sustainer in the guild of the saints.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਗਿਰਸਤ ਉਦਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੪੦॥੪੭॥
नानक नामु वसिआ जिसु अंतरि परवाणु गिरसत उदासा जीउ ॥४॥४०॥४७॥
Nānak nām vasi▫ā jis anṯar parvāṇ girsaṯ uḏāsā jī▫o. ||4||40||47||
Nanak he within whose mind the Name abides is acceptable whether he is a householder or an anchoret.

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
सिमरत नामु रिदै सुखु पाइआ ॥
Simraṯ nām riḏai sukẖ pā▫i▫ā.
By remembering God's Name I have gathered peace of the heart.
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥
करि किरपा भगतीं प्रगटाइआ ॥
Kar kirpā bẖagṯīʼn paragtā▫i▫ā.
Showering His benediction the Lord causes His saints to be renowned.
|
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਆਲਸ ਰੋਗਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
संतसंगि मिलि हरि हरि जपिआ बिनसे आलस रोगा जीउ ॥१॥
Saṯsang mil har har japi▫ā binse ālas rogā jī▫o. ||1||
Joining the society of the his saints I have repeated God's Name and my ailment of indolence has disappeared.
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਈ ॥
जा कै ग्रिहि नव निधि हरि भाई ॥
Jā kai garihi nav niḏẖ har bẖā▫ī.
O brother! The Lord, in whose home are the nine treasures,
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਪੁਰਬ ਕਮਾਈ ॥
तिसु मिलिआ जिसु पुरब कमाई ॥
Ŧis mili▫ā jis purab kamā▫ī.
meets him who has pre-natal good actions to his credit.
|
ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਗਲਾ ਜੋਗਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
गिआन धिआन पूरन परमेसुर प्रभु सभना गला जोगा जीउ ॥२॥
Gi▫ān ḏẖi▫ān pūran parmesur parabẖ sabẖnā galā jogā jī▫o. ||2||
The Supreme Lord is brimful with Divine knowledge and meditation. The Master is potent to do every thing.
|
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
खिन महि थापि उथापनहारा ॥
Kẖin mėh thāp uthāpanhārā.
In a moment the Lord is the establisher and disestablisher.
|
ਆਪਿ ਇਕੰਤੀ ਆਪਿ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
आपि इकंती आपि पसारा ॥
Āp ikanṯī āp pasārā.
God Himself is one and Himself many.
|
ਲੇਪੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਦਾਤੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਡਿਠੇ ਲਹਨਿ ਵਿਜੋਗਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
लेपु नही जगजीवन दाते दरसन डिठे लहनि विजोगा जीउ ॥३॥
Lep nahī jagjīvan ḏāṯe ḏarsan diṯẖe lahan vijogā jī▫o. ||3||
No filth attaches to the beneficent Lord the life of the universe. By seeing His sight the pang of separation departs.
|
ਅੰਚਲਿ ਲਾਇ ਸਭ ਸਿਸਟਿ ਤਰਾਈ ॥
अंचलि लाइ सभ सिसटि तराई ॥
Ancẖal lā▫e sabẖ sisat ṯarā▫ī.
Attaching to His skirt, the Lord has saved the entire world.
|
ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਉ ਆਪਿ ਜਪਾਈ ॥
आपणा नाउ आपि जपाई ॥
Āpṇā nā▫o āp japā▫ī.
He Himself causes His Name to be repeated.
|
ਗੁਰ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੪੧॥੪੮॥
गुर बोहिथु पाइआ किरपा ते नानक धुरि संजोगा जीउ ॥४॥४१॥४८॥
Gur bohith pā▫i▫ā kirpā ṯe Nānak ḏẖur sanjogā jī▫o. ||4||41||48||
The Guru's boat man finds by God's grace. Such good luck is pre-ordained for him, O Nanak!

ਸੋਈ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ॥
सोई करणा जि आपि कराए ॥
So▫ī karṇā jė āp karā▫e.
Men do that which the Lord Himself directs them to do.
|
ਜਿਥੈ ਰਖੈ ਸਾ ਭਲੀ ਜਾਏ ॥
जिथै रखै सा भली जाए ॥
Jithai rakẖai sā bẖalī jā▫e.
Wherever He keeps that is the good place.
|
ਸੋਈ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਸੋ ਪਤਿਵੰਤਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਲਗੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
सोई सिआणा सो पतिवंता हुकमु लगै जिसु मीठा जीउ ॥१॥
So▫ī si▫āṇā so paṯivanṯā hukam lagai jis mīṯẖā jī▫o. ||1||
He is wise and he is honourable to whom the Lord's order seems sweet.
|
ਸਭ ਪਰੋਈ ਇਕਤੁ ਧਾਗੈ ॥
सभ परोई इकतु धागै ॥
Sabẖ paro▫ī ikaṯ ḏẖāgai.
All the creation He has strung in one thread.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਸੋ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
जिसु लाइ लए सो चरणी लागै ॥
Jis lā▫e la▫e so cẖarṇī lāgai.
He, whom God attaches, is attached to His feet.
|
ਊਂਧ ਕਵਲੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਡੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
ऊंध कवलु जिसु होइ प्रगासा तिनि सरब निरंजनु डीठा जीउ ॥२॥
Ūʼnḏẖ kaval jis ho▫e pargāsā ṯin sarab niranjan dīṯẖā jī▫o. ||2||
He in whose inverse heart lotus the Divine Light dawns sees the pure Lord amongst all.
|
ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਜਾਣਹਿ ॥
तेरी महिमा तूंहै जाणहि ॥
Ŧerī mahimā ṯūʼnhai jāṇėh.
Thy glory Thou alone knowest.
|
ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਿ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ॥
अपणा आपु तूं आपि पछाणहि ॥
Apṇā āp ṯūʼn āp pacẖẖāṇėh.
Thine ownself Thou Thyself recognisest.
|
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸੰਤਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਪੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
हउ बलिहारी संतन तेरे जिनि कामु क्रोधु लोभु पीठा जीउ ॥३॥
Ha▫o balihārī sanṯan ṯere jin kām kroḏẖ lobẖ pīṯẖā jī▫o. ||3||
I am a sacrifice unto Thine saints who have ground their lust wrath and avarice.
|
ਤੂੰ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਸੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ॥
तूं निरवैरु संत तेरे निरमल ॥
Ŧūʼn nirvair sanṯ ṯere nirmal.
Thou art without enmity and Thine saints are pure.
|
ਜਿਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਸਭ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਕਲਮਲ ॥
जिन देखे सभ उतरहि कलमल ॥
Jin ḏekẖe sabẖ uṯrėh kalmal.
By seeing whom all the sins depart.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਜੀਵੈ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਧੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੪੨॥੪੯॥
नानक नामु धिआइ धिआइ जीवै बिनसिआ भ्रमु भउ धीठा जीउ ॥४॥४२॥४९॥
Nānak nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e ḏẖi▫ā▫e jīvai binsi▫ā bẖaram bẖa▫o ḏẖīṯẖā jī▫o. ||4||42||49||
Nanak lives by remembering and repeating Lord's Name and his shameless doubt and dread have departed.
|
