ਇਕਿ ਭੂਖੇ ਇਕਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ਸਭਸੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰਣਾ ॥੩॥
Ik bẖūkẖe ik ṯaripaṯ agẖā▫e sabẖsai ṯerā pārṇā. ||3||
Some are hungry and some are satisfied and satiated, but all lean on Your Support. ||3||
|
ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਾਚਾ ॥
Āpe saṯ saṯ saṯ sācẖā.
The True Lord Himself is True, True, True.
|
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚਾ ॥
Oṯ poṯ bẖagṯan sang rācẖā.
He is woven into the essence of His devotees, through and through.
|
ਆਪੇ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੈ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਸਾਰਣਾ ॥੪॥
Āpe gupaṯ āpe hai pargat apṇā āp pasārṇā. ||4||
He Himself is hidden, and He Himself is revealed. He Himself spreads Himself out. ||4||
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਦ ਹੋਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
Saḏā saḏā saḏ hovaṇhārā.
Forever, forever and ever, He shall always exist.
|
ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਥਾਹੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
Ūcẖā agam athāhu apārā.
He is lofty, inaccessible, unfathomable and infinite.
|
ਊਣੇ ਭਰੇ ਭਰੇ ਭਰਿ ਊਣੇ ਏਹਿ ਚਲਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਣਾ ॥੫॥
Ūṇe bẖare bẖare bẖar ūṇe ehi cẖalaṯ su▫āmī ke kārṇā. ||5||
He fills the empty, and empties out the filled; such are the plays and dramas of my Lord and Master. ||5||
|
ਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੇ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
Mukẖ sālāhī sacẖe sāhā.
With my mouth, I praise my True Lord King.
|
ਨੈਣੀ ਪੇਖਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥
Naiṇī pekẖā agam athāhā.
With my eyes, I behold the inaccessible and unfathomable Lord.
|
ਕਰਨੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੬॥
Karnī suṇ suṇ man ṯan hari▫ā mere sāhib sagal uḏẖāraṇā. ||6||
Listening, listening with my ears, my mind and body are rejuvenated; my Lord and Master saves all. ||6||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖਹਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਪਣਾ ॥
Kar kar vekẖėh kīṯā apṇā.
He created the creation, and gazes upon what He has created.
|
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸੋਈ ਹੈ ਜਪਣਾ ॥
Jī▫a janṯ so▫ī hai japṇā.
All beings and creatures meditate on Him.
|
ਅਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਣਾ ॥੭॥
Apṇī kuḏraṯ āpe jāṇai naḏrī naḏar nihālaṇā. ||7||
He Himself knows His creative power; He blesses with His Glance of Grace. ||7||
|
ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਜਹ ਬੈਸਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਸੇ ॥
Sanṯ sabẖā jah baisėh parabẖ pāse.
Where the Saints gather together and sit, God dwells close at hand.
|
ਅਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਹਰਿ ਚਲਤ ਤਮਾਸੇ ॥
Anand mangal har cẖalaṯ ṯamāse.
They abide in bliss and joy, beholding the Lord's wondrous play.
|
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਤਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਚਿਤਾਰਣਾ ॥੮॥
Guṇ gāvahi anhaḏ ḏẖun baṇī ṯah Nānak ḏās cẖiṯāraṇā. ||8||
They sing the Glories of the Lord, and the unstruck sound current of His Bani; O Nanak, His slaves remain conscious of Him. ||8||
|
ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਣਾ ਸਭੁ ਚਲਤੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ॥
Āvaṇ jāṇā sabẖ cẖalaṯ ṯumārā.
Coming and going is all Your wondrous play.
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਖੇਲੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
Kar kar ḏekẖai kẖel apārā.
Creating the Creation, You gaze upon Your infinite play.
|
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਉਪਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ਪਾਲਣਾ ॥੯॥
Āp upā▫e upāvaṇhārā apṇā kī▫ā pālṇā. ||9||
Creating the Creation, You Yourself cherish and nurture it. ||9||
|
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸੋਇ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
Suṇ suṇ jīvā so▫e ṯumārī.
Listening, listening to Your Glory, I live.
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
Saḏā saḏā jā▫ī balihārī.
Forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to You.
|
ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਣਾ ॥੧੦॥
Ḏu▫e kar joṛ simra▫o ḏin rāṯī mere su▫āmī agam apāraṇā. ||10||
With my palms pressed together, I meditate in remembrance on You, day and night, O my inaccessible, infinite Lord and Master. ||10||
|
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜੇ ਕਿਸੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥
Ŧuḏẖ bin ḏūje kis sālāhī.
Other than You, who else should I praise?
|
ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਜਪੀ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
Ėko ek japī man māhī.
I meditate on the One and Only Lord within my mind.
|
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝਿ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ਇਹ ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਘਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੧॥
Hukam būjẖ jan bẖa▫e nihālā ih bẖagṯā kī gẖālṇā. ||11||
Realizing the Hukam of Your Will, Your humble servants are enraptured; this is the achievement of Your devotees. ||11||
|
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਚਾ ॥
Gur upḏes japī▫ai man sācẖā.
Following the Guru's Teachings, I meditate on the True Lord within my mind.
|
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਚਾ ॥
Gur upḏes rām rang rācẖā.
Following the Guru's Teachings, I am immersed in the Lord's Love.
|
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਤੁਟਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਇਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਪਰਜਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੨॥
Gur upḏes ṯutėh sabẖ banḏẖan ih bẖaram moh parjālaṇā. ||12||
Following the Guru's Teachings, all bonds are broken, and this doubt and emotional attachment are burnt away. ||12||
|
ਜਹ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨਾ ॥
Jah rākẖai so▫ī sukẖ thānā.
Wherever He keeps me, is my place of rest.
|
ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
Sėhje ho▫e so▫ī bẖal mānā.
Whatever naturally happens, I accept that as good.
|
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਬੈਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਬੈਰੀ ਸਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਹੈ ਭਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੩॥
Binse bair nāhī ko bairī sabẖ eko hai bẖālṇā. ||13||
Hatred is gone - I have no hatred at all; I see the One Lord in all. ||13||
|
ਡਰ ਚੂਕੇ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਅੰਧਿਆਰੇ ॥
Dar cẖūke binse anḏẖi▫āre.
Fear has been removed, and darkness has been dispelled.
|
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿਰਾਰੇ ॥
Pargat bẖa▫e parabẖ purakẖ nirāre.
The all-powerful, primal, detached Lord God has been revealed.
|
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਪਏ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਘਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੪॥
Āp cẖẖod pa▫e sarṇā▫ī jis kā sā ṯis gẖālṇā. ||14||
Forsaking self-conceit, I have entered His Sanctuary, and I work for Him. ||14||
|
ਐਸਾ ਕੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
Aisā ko vadbẖāgī ā▫i▫ā.
Rare are those few, very blessed people, who come into the world,
|
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਜਿਨਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
Āṯẖ pahar jin kẖasam ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā.
and meditate on their Lord and Master, twenty-four hours a day.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੧੫॥
Ŧis jan kai sang ṯarai sabẖ ko▫ī so parvār saḏẖāraṇā. ||15||
Associating with such humble people, all are saved, and their families are saved as well. ||15||
|
ਇਹ ਬਖਸੀਸ ਖਸਮ ਤੇ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
Ih bakẖsīs kẖasam ṯe pāvā.
This is the blessing which I have received from my Lord and Master.
|
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਧਿਆਵਾ ॥
Āṯẖ pahar kar joṛ ḏẖi▫āvā.
Twenty-four hours a day, with my palms pressed together, I meditate on Him.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੈ ਉਚਾਰਣਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੬॥
Nām japī nām sahj samāvā nām Nānak milai ucẖāraṇā. ||16||1||6||
I chant the Naam, and through the Naam, I intuitively merge into the Lord; O Nanak, may I be blessed with the Naam, and ever repeat it. ||16||1||6||

ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Mārū mėhlā 5.
Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:

ਸੂਰਤਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਨ ਭੂਲੁ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥
Sūraṯ ḏekẖ na bẖūl gavārā.
Do not be fooled by appearances, you fool.
|
ਮਿਥਨ ਮੋਹਾਰਾ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
Mithan mohārā jẖūṯẖ pasārā.
This is a false attachment to the expanse of an illusion.
|
ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਕੋਈ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਪਾਏ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਾ ॥੧॥
Jag mėh ko▫ī rahaṇ na pā▫e nihcẖal ek nārā▫iṇā. ||1||
No one can remain in this world; only the One Lord is permanent and unchanging. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਪਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
Gur pūre kī pa▫o sarṇā▫ī.
Seek the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru.
|
ਮੋਹੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥
Moh sog sabẖ bẖaram mitā▫ī.
He shall eradicate all emotional attachment, sorrow and doubt.
|
ਏਕੋ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਗਾਇਣਾ ॥੨॥
Ėko manṯar driṛ▫ā▫e a▫ukẖaḏẖ sacẖ nām riḏ gā▫iṇā. ||2||
He shall administer the medicine, the Mantra of the One Name. Sing the True Name within your heart. ||2||
