ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਜਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥
Āp ṯarai sagle kul ṯāre har ḏargėh paṯ si▫o jā▫iḏā. ||6||
You shall save yourself, and save all your generations as well. You shall go to the Court of the Lord with honor. ||6||
|
ਖੰਡ ਪਤਾਲ ਦੀਪ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਆ ॥
Kẖand paṯāl ḏīp sabẖ lo▫ā.
All the continents, nether worlds, islands and worlds -
|
ਸਭਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਵਸਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਆ ॥
Sabẖ kālai vas āp parabẖ kī▫ā.
God Himself has made them all subject to death.
|
ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਏਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਜੋ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੭॥
Nihcẖal ek āp abẖināsī so nihcẖal jo ṯisėh ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏā. ||7||
The One Imperishable Lord Himself is unmoving and unchanging. Meditating on Him, one becomes unchanging. ||7||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੇਹਾ ॥
Har kā sevak so har jehā.
The Lord's servant becomes like the Lord.
|
ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਮਾਣਸ ਦੇਹਾ ॥
Bẖeḏ na jāṇhu māṇas ḏehā.
Do not think that, because of his human body, he is different.
|
ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗ ਉਠਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਲਲੈ ਸਲਲ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥
Ji▫o jal ṯarang uṯẖėh baho bẖāṯī fir sallai salal samā▫iḏā. ||8||
The waves of the water rise up in various ways, and then the water merges again in water. ||8||
|
ਇਕੁ ਜਾਚਿਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ॥
Ik jācẖik mangai ḏān ḏu▫ārai.
A beggar begs for charity at His Door.
|
ਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
Jā parabẖ bẖāvai ṯā kirpā ḏẖārai.
When God pleases, He takes pity on him.
|
ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
Ḏeh ḏaras jiṯ man ṯaripṯāsai har kīrṯan man ṯẖėhrā▫iḏā. ||9||
Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, to satisfy my mind, O Lord. Through the Kirtan of Your Praises, my mind is held steady. ||9||

ਰੂੜੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਿਤੈ ਵਸਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
Rūṛo ṯẖākur kiṯai vas na āvai.
The Beauteous Lord and Master is not controlled in any way.
|
ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਸੰਤਾ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
Har so kicẖẖ kare jė har ki▫ā sanṯā bẖāvai.
The Lord does that which pleases the Saints of the Lord.
|
ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜਨਿ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਾਇਨਿ ਦਰਿ ਫੇਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
Kīṯā loṛan so▫ī karā▫in ḏar fer na ko▫ī pā▫iḏā. ||10||
He does whatever they wish to be done; nothing blocks their way at His Door. ||10||
|
ਜਿਥੈ ਅਉਘਟੁ ਆਇ ਬਨਤੁ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥
Jithai a▫ugẖat ā▫e banaṯ hai parāṇī.
Wherever the mortal is confronted with difficulty,
|
ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥
Ŧithai har ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai sāringpāṇī.
there he should meditate on the Lord of the Universe.
|
ਜਿਥੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੁ ਕਲਤ੍ਰੁ ਨ ਬੇਲੀ ਕੋਈ ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
Jithai puṯar kalaṯar na belī ko▫ī ṯithai har āp cẖẖadā▫iḏā. ||11||
Where there are no children, spouse or friends, there the Lord Himself comes to the rescue. ||11||
|
ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥
vadā sāhib agam athāhā.
The Great Lord and Master is inaccessible and unfathomable.
|
ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ॥
Ki▫o milī▫ai parabẖ veparvāhā.
How can anyone meet with God, the self-sufficient One?
|
ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ਸੋ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥
Kāt silak jis mārag pā▫e so vicẖ sangaṯ vāsā pā▫iḏā. ||12||
Those who have had the noose cut away from around their necks, whom God has set back upon the Path, obtain a place in the Sangat, the Congregation. ||12||
|
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
Hukam būjẖai so sevak kahī▫ai.
One who realizes the Hukam of the Lord's Command is said to be His servant.
|
ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਦੁਇ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਸਹੀਐ ॥
Burā bẖalā ḏu▫e samsar sahī▫ai.
He endures both bad and good equally.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ਤ ਏਕੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
Ha▫umai jā▫e ṯa eko būjẖai so gurmukẖ sahj samā▫iḏā. ||13||
When egotism is silenced, then one comes to know the One Lord. Such a Gurmukh intuitively merges in the Lord. ||13||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਵਾਸੀ ॥
Har ke bẖagaṯ saḏā sukẖvāsī.
The devotees of the Lord dwell forever in peace.
|
ਬਾਲ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਅਤੀਤ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥
Bāl subẖā▫e aṯīṯ uḏāsī.
With a child-like, innocent nature, they remain detached, turning away from the world.
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਕਰਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਜਿਉ ਪਿਤਾ ਪੂਤੁ ਲਾਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥
Anik rang karahi baho bẖāṯī ji▫o piṯā pūṯ lādā▫iḏā. ||14||
They enjoy various pleasures in many ways; God caresses them, like a father caressing his son. ||14||
|
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
Agam agocẖar kīmaṯ nahī pā▫ī.
He is inaccessible and unfathomable; His value cannot be estimated.
|
ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
Ŧā milī▫ai jā la▫e milā▫ī.
We meet Him, only when He causes us to meet.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
Gurmukẖ pargat bẖa▫i▫ā ṯin jan ka▫o jin ḏẖur masṯak lekẖ likẖā▫iḏā. ||15||
The Lord is revealed to those humble Gurmukhs, who have such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon their foreheads. ||15||

ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
Ŧū āpe karṯā kāraṇ karṇā.
You Yourself are the Creator Lord, the Cause of causes.
|
ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਧਰੀ ਸਭ ਧਰਣਾ ॥
Sarisat upā▫e ḏẖarī sabẖ ḏẖarṇā.
You created the Universe, and You support the whole earth.
|
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੫॥
Jan Nānak saraṇ pa▫i▫ā har ḏu▫ārai har bẖāvai lāj rakẖā▫iḏā. ||16||1||5||
Servant Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of Your Door, O Lord; if it is Your Will, please preserve his honor. ||16||1||5||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
|
ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਏਕੋ ਤੂਹੈ ॥
Jo ḏīsai so eko ṯūhai.
Whatever is seen is You, O One Lord.
|
ਬਾਣੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥
Baṇī ṯerī sarvaṇ suṇī▫ai.
What the ears hear is the Word of Your Bani.
|
ਦੂਜੀ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਜਾਪਸਿ ਕਾਈ ਸਗਲ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੧॥
Ḏūjī avar na jāpas kā▫ī sagal ṯumārī ḏẖārṇā. ||1||
There is nothing else to be seen at all. You give support to all. ||1||
|
ਆਪਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ॥
Āp cẖiṯāre apṇā kī▫ā.
You Yourself are conscious of Your Creation.
|
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਥੀਆ ॥
Āpe āp āp parabẖ thī▫ā.
You Yourself established Yourself, O God.
|
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਰਚਿਓਨੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਰਣਾ ॥੨॥
Āp upā▫e racẖi▫on pasārā āpe gẖat gẖat sārṇā. ||2||
Creating Yourself, You formed the expanse of the Universe; You Yourself cherish and sustain each and every heart. ||2||
|
ਇਕਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਵਡ ਦਰਵਾਰੀ ॥
Ik upā▫e vad ḏarvārī.
You created some to hold great and royal courts.
|
ਇਕਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਇਕਿ ਘਰ ਬਾਰੀ ॥
Ik uḏāsī ik gẖar bārī.
Some turn away from the world in renunciation, and some maintain their households.
