ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦਾ ॥
सतिगुरि सेविऐ सहज अनंदा ॥
Saṯgur sevi▫ai sahj ananḏā.
Serving the True Guru, one obtains intuitive bliss.
|
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਆਇ ਵੁਠਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ॥
हिरदै आइ वुठा गोविंदा ॥
Hirḏai ā▫e vuṯẖā govinḏā.
The Lord of the Universe comes to dwell within the heart.
|
ਸਹਜੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਆਪੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਾਇਦਾ ॥੪॥
सहजे भगति करे दिनु राती आपे भगति कराइदा ॥४॥
Sėhje bẖagaṯ kare ḏin rāṯī āpe bẖagaṯ karā▫iḏā. ||4||
He intuitively practices devotional worship day and night; God Himself practices devotional worship. ||4||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਤਿਨੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
सतिगुर ते विछुड़े तिनी दुखु पाइआ ॥
Saṯgur ṯe vicẖẖuṛe ṯinī ḏukẖ pā▫i▫ā.
Those who are separated from the True Guru, suffer in misery.
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਮਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥
अनदिनु मारीअहि दुखु सबाइआ ॥
An▫ḏin mārī▫ah ḏukẖ sabā▫i▫ā.
Night and day, they are punished, and they suffer in total agony.
|
ਮਥੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਦੁਖ ਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੫॥
मथे काले महलु न पावहि दुख ही विचि दुखु पाइदा ॥५॥
Mathe kāle mahal na pāvahi ḏukẖ hī vicẖ ḏukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||5||
Their faces are blackened, and they do not obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. They suffer in sorrow and agony. ||5||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
सतिगुरु सेवहि से वडभागी ॥
Saṯgur sevėh se vadbẖāgī.
Those who serve the True Guru are very fortunate.
|
ਸਹਜ ਭਾਇ ਸਚੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
सहज भाइ सची लिव लागी ॥
Sahj bẖā▫e sacẖī liv lāgī.
They intuitively enshrine love for the True Lord.
|
ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਚੈ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥
सचो सचु कमावहि सद ही सचै मेलि मिलाइदा ॥६॥
Sacẖo sacẖ kamāvėh saḏ hī sacẖai mel milā▫iḏā. ||6||
They practice Truth, forever Truth; they are united in Union with the True Lord. ||6||
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਚਾ ਦੇਇ ਸੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
जिस नो सचा देइ सु पाए ॥
Jis no sacẖā ḏe▫e so pā▫e.
He alone obtains the Truth, unto whom the True Lord gives it.
|
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਏ ॥
अंतरि साचु भरमु चुकाए ॥
Anṯar sācẖ bẖaram cẖukā▫e.
His inner being is filled with Truth, and his doubt is dispelled.
|
ਸਚੁ ਸਚੈ ਕਾ ਆਪੇ ਦਾਤਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੭॥
सचु सचै का आपे दाता जिसु देवै सो सचु पाइदा ॥७॥
Sacẖ sacẖai kā āpe ḏāṯā jis ḏevai so sacẖ pā▫iḏā. ||7||
The True Lord Himself is the Giver of Truth; he alone obtains the Truth, unto whom He gives it. ||7||
|
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਸੋਈ ॥
आपे करता सभना का सोई ॥
Āpe karṯā sabẖnā kā so▫ī.
He Himself is the Creator of all.
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
जिस नो आपि बुझाए बूझै कोई ॥
Jis no āp bujẖā▫e būjẖai ko▫ī.
Only one whom He instructs, understands Him.
|
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥
आपे बखसे दे वडिआई आपे मेलि मिलाइदा ॥८॥
Āpe bakẖse ḏe vadi▫ā▫ī āpe mel milā▫iḏā. ||8||
He Himself forgives, and grants glorious greatness. He himself unites in His Union. ||8||
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
हउमै करदिआ जनमु गवाइआ ॥
Ha▫umai karḏi▫ā janam gavā▫i▫ā.
Acting egotistically, one loses his life.
|
ਆਗੈ ਮੋਹੁ ਨ ਚੂਕੈ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
आगै मोहु न चूकै माइआ ॥
Āgai moh na cẖūkai mā▫i▫ā.
Even in the world hereafter, emotional attachment to Maya does not leave him.
|
ਅਗੈ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਲੇਵੈ ਜਿਉ ਤਿਲ ਘਾਣੀ ਪੀੜਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
अगै जमकालु लेखा लेवै जिउ तिल घाणी पीड़ाइदा ॥९॥
Agai jamkāl lekẖā levai ji▫o ṯil gẖāṇī pīṛā▫iḏā. ||9||
In the world hereafter, the Messenger of Death calls him to account, and crushes him like sesame seeds in the oil-press. ||9||
|
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੋਈ ॥
पूरै भागि गुर सेवा होई ॥
Pūrai bẖāg gur sevā ho▫ī.
By perfect destiny, one serves the Guru.
|
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਸੇਵੇ ਕੋਈ ॥
नदरि करे ता सेवे कोई ॥
Naḏar kare ṯā seve ko▫ī.
If God grants His Grace, then one serves.
|
ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਮਹਲਿ ਸਚੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
जमकालु तिसु नेड़ि न आवै महलि सचै सुखु पाइदा ॥१०॥
Jamkāl ṯis neṛ na āvai mahal sacẖai sukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||10||
The Messenger of Death cannot even approach him, and in the Mansion of the True Lord's Presence, he finds peace. ||10||
|
ਤਿਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਏ ॥
तिन सुखु पाइआ जो तुधु भाए ॥
Ŧin sukẖ pā▫i▫ā jo ṯuḏẖ bẖā▫e.
They alone find peace, who are pleasing to Your Will.
|
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ॥
पूरै भागि गुर सेवा लाए ॥
Pūrai bẖāg gur sevā lā▫e.
By perfect destiny, they are attached to the Guru's service.
|
ਤੇਰੈ ਹਥਿ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
तेरै हथि है सभ वडिआई जिसु देवहि सो पाइदा ॥११॥
Ŧerai hath hai sabẖ vadi▫ā▫ī jis ḏevėh so pā▫iḏā. ||11||
All glorious greatness rests in Your Hands; he alone obtains it, unto whom You give it. ||11||
|
ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ॥
अंदरि परगासु गुरू ते पाए ॥
Anḏar pargās gurū ṯe pā▫e.
Through the Guru, one's inner being is enlightened and illumined.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
नामु पदारथु मंनि वसाए ॥
Nām paḏārath man vasā▫e.
The wealth of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, comes to dwell in the mind.
|
ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਗਵਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥
गिआन रतनु सदा घटि चानणु अगिआन अंधेरु गवाइदा ॥१२॥
Gi▫ān raṯan saḏā gẖat cẖānaṇ agi▫ān anḏẖer gavā▫iḏā. ||12||
The jewel of spiritual wisdom ever illumines the heart, and the darkness of spiritual ignorance is dispelled. ||12||
|
ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੰਧੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
अगिआनी अंधे दूजै लागे ॥
Agi▫ānī anḏẖe ḏūjai lāge.
The blind and ignorant are attached to duality.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਡੁਬਿ ਮੂਏ ਅਭਾਗੇ ॥
बिनु पाणी डुबि मूए अभागे ॥
Bin pāṇī dub mū▫e abẖāge.
The unfortunates are drowned without water, and die.
|
ਚਲਦਿਆ ਘਰੁ ਦਰੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਮ ਦਰਿ ਬਾਧਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
चलदिआ घरु दरु नदरि न आवै जम दरि बाधा दुखु पाइदा ॥१३॥
Cẖalḏi▫ā gẖar ḏar naḏar na āvai jam ḏar bāḏẖā ḏukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||13||
When they depart from the world, they do not find the Lord's door and home; bound and gagged at Death's door, they suffer in pain. ||13||
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
बिनु सतिगुर सेवे मुकति न होई ॥
Bin saṯgur seve mukaṯ na ho▫ī.
Without serving the True Guru, no one finds liberation.
|
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
गिआनी धिआनी पूछहु कोई ॥
Gi▫ānī ḏẖi▫ānī pūcẖẖahu ko▫ī.
Go ask any spiritual teacher or mediator.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥
सतिगुरु सेवे तिसु मिलै वडिआई दरि सचै सोभा पाइदा ॥१४॥
Saṯgur seve ṯis milai vadi▫ā▫ī ḏar sacẖai sobẖā pā▫iḏā. ||14||
Whoever serves the True Guru is blessed with glorious greatness, and honored in the Court of the True Lord. ||14||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੋ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
सतिगुर नो सेवे तिसु आपि मिलाए ॥
Saṯgur no seve ṯis āp milā▫e.
One who serves the True Guru, the Lord merges into Himself.
|
ਮਮਤਾ ਕਾਟਿ ਸਚਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥
ममता काटि सचि लिव लाए ॥
Mamṯā kāt sacẖ liv lā▫e.
Cutting away attachment, one lovingly focuses on the True Lord.
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਵਣਜਹਿ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਨਾਮੋ ਲਾਹਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
सदा सचु वणजहि वापारी नामो लाहा पाइदा ॥१५॥
Saḏā sacẖ vaṇjahi vāpārī nāmo lāhā pā▫iḏā. ||15||
The merchants deal forever in Truth; they earn the profit of the Naam. ||15||
|
ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
आपे करे कराए करता ॥
Āpe kare karā▫e karṯā.
The Creator Himself acts, and inspires all to act.
|
ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਮੁਕਤਾ ॥
सबदि मरै सोई जनु मुकता ॥
Sabaḏ marai so▫ī jan mukṯā.
He alone is liberated, who dies in the Word of the Shabad.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੫॥੧੯॥
नानक नामु वसै मन अंतरि नामो नामु धिआइदा ॥१६॥५॥१९॥
Nānak nām vasai man anṯar nāmo nām ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏā. ||16||5||19||
O Nanak, the Naam dwells deep within the mind; meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||16||5||19||

ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥
मारू महला ३ ॥
Mārū mėhlā 3.
Maaroo, Third Mehl:

ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਕਰਣਾ ਸੋ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
जो तुधु करणा सो करि पाइआ ॥
Jo ṯuḏẖ karṇā so kar pā▫i▫ā.
Whatever You do, is done.
|
ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਆਇਆ ॥
भाणे विचि को विरला आइआ ॥
Bẖāṇe vicẖ ko virlā ā▫i▫ā.
How rare are those who walk in harmony with the Lord's Will.
|
ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨੇ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧॥
भाणा मंने सो सुखु पाए भाणे विचि सुखु पाइदा ॥१॥
Bẖāṇā manne so sukẖ pā▫e bẖāṇe vicẖ sukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||1||
One who surrenders to the Lord's Will finds peace; he finds peace in the Lord's Will. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
गुरमुखि तेरा भाणा भावै ॥
Gurmukẖ ṯerā bẖāṇā bẖāvai.
Your Will is pleasing to the Gurmukh.
|
ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
सहजे ही सुखु सचु कमावै ॥
Sėhje hī sukẖ sacẖ kamāvai.
Practicing Truth, he intuitively finds peace.
|
ਭਾਣੇ ਨੋ ਲੋਚੈ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਆਪਿ ਮਨਾਇਦਾ ॥੨॥
भाणे नो लोचै बहुतेरी आपणा भाणा आपि मनाइदा ॥२॥
Bẖāṇe no locẖai bahuṯerī āpṇā bẖāṇā āp manā▫iḏā. ||2||
Many long to walk in harmony with the Lord's Will; He Himself inspires us to surrender to His Will. ||2||
|
ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨੇ ਸੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਏ ॥
तेरा भाणा मंने सु मिलै तुधु आए ॥
Ŧerā bẖāṇā manne so milai ṯuḏẖ ā▫e.
One who surrenders to Your Will, meets with You, Lord.
