ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਲਬੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਕਾ ਦੋਰਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
बिखिआ कारणि लबु लोभु कमावहि दुरमति का दोराहा हे ॥९॥
Bikẖi▫ā kāraṇ lab lobẖ kamāvėh ḏurmaṯ kā ḏorāhā he. ||9||
For the sake of poison, they act in greed and possessiveness, and evil-minded duality. ||9||

ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥
पूरा सतिगुरु भगति द्रिड़ाए ॥
Pūrā saṯgur bẖagaṯ driṛ▫ā▫e.
The Perfect True Guru implants devotional worship within.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
गुर कै सबदि हरि नामि चितु लाए ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ har nām cẖiṯ lā▫e.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he lovingly centers his consciousness on the Lord's Name.

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭੀਨੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥
मनि तनि हरि रविआ घट अंतरि मनि भीनै भगति सलाहा हे ॥१०॥
Man ṯan har ravi▫ā gẖat anṯar man bẖīnai bẖagaṯ salāhā he. ||10||
The Lord pervades his mind, body and heart; deep within, his mind is drenched with devotional worship and praise of the Lord. ||10||

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਅਸੁਰ ਸੰਘਾਰਣੁ ॥
मेरा प्रभु साचा असुर संघारणु ॥
Merā parabẖ sācẖā asur sangẖāraṇ.
My True Lord God is the Destroyer of demons.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਣੁ ॥
गुर कै सबदि भगति निसतारणु ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ bẖagaṯ nisṯāraṇ.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, His devotees are saved.

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥
मेरा प्रभु साचा सद ही साचा सिरि साहा पातिसाहा हे ॥११॥
Merā parabẖ sācẖā saḏ hī sācẖā sir sāhā pāṯisāhā he. ||11||
My True Lord God is forever True. He is the Emperor over the heads of kings. ||11||
|
ਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਚੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਏ ॥
से भगत सचे तेरै मनि भाए ॥
Se bẖagaṯ sacẖe ṯerai man bẖā▫e.
True are those devotees, who are pleasing to Your Mind.

ਦਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥
दरि कीरतनु करहि गुर सबदि सुहाए ॥
Ḏar kīrṯan karahi gur sabaḏ suhā▫e.
They sing the Kirtan of His Praises at His Door; they are embellished and exalted by the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵੇਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥
साची बाणी अनदिनु गावहि निरधन का नामु वेसाहा हे ॥१२॥
Sācẖī baṇī an▫ḏin gāvahi nirḏẖan kā nām vesāhā he. ||12||
Night and day, they sing the True Word of His Bani. The Naam is the wealth of the poor. ||12||

ਜਿਨ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਵਿਛੋੜਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
जिन आपे मेलि विछोड़हि नाही ॥
Jin āpe mel vicẖẖoṛėh nāhī.
Those whom You unite, Lord, are never separated again.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥
गुर कै सबदि सदा सालाही ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ saḏā sālāhī.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they praise You forever.
|
ਸਭਨਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਤੂ ਏਕੋ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥
सभना सिरि तू एको साहिबु सबदे नामु सलाहा हे ॥१३॥
Sabẖnā sir ṯū eko sāhib sabḏe nām salāhā he. ||13||
You are the One Lord and Master over all. Through the Shabad, the Naam is praised. ||13||
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਤੁਧੁਨੋ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥
बिनु सबदै तुधुनो कोई न जाणी ॥
Bin sabḏai ṯuḏẖuno ko▫ī na jāṇī.
Without the Shabad, no one knows You.
|
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਥੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
तुधु आपे कथी अकथ कहाणी ॥
Ŧuḏẖ āpe kathī akath kahāṇī.
You Yourself speak the Unspoken Speech.
|
ਆਪੇ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਸੰਬਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥
आपे सबदु सदा गुरु दाता हरि नामु जपि स्मबाहा हे ॥१४॥
Āpe sabaḏ saḏā gur ḏāṯā har nām jap sambāhā he. ||14||
You Yourself are the Shabad forever, the Guru, the Great Giver; chanting the Lord's Name, You bestow Your treasure. ||14||
|
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
तू आपे करता सिरजणहारा ॥
Ŧū āpe karṯā sirjaṇhārā.
You Yourself are the Creator of the Universe.
|
ਤੇਰਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
तेरा लिखिआ कोइ न मेटणहारा ॥
Ŧerā likẖi▫ā ko▫e na metaṇhārā.
No one can erase what You have written.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਸਹਸਾ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥
गुरमुखि नामु देवहि तू आपे सहसा गणत न ताहा हे ॥१५॥
Gurmukẖ nām ḏevėh ṯū āpe sahsā gaṇaṯ na ṯāhā he. ||15||
You Yourself bless the Gurmukh with the Naam, who is no longer skeptical, and is not held to account. ||15||

ਭਗਤ ਸਚੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਦਰਵਾਰੇ ॥
भगत सचे तेरै दरवारे ॥
Bẖagaṯ sacẖe ṯerai ḏarvāre.
Your true devotees stand at the Door of Your Court.
|
ਸਬਦੇ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
सबदे सेवनि भाइ पिआरे ॥
Sabḏe sevan bẖā▫e pi▫āre.
They serve the Shabad with love and affection.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸੋਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੩॥੧੨॥
नानक नामि रते बैरागी नामे कारजु सोहा हे ॥१६॥३॥१२॥
Nānak nām raṯe bairāgī nāme kāraj sohā he. ||16||3||12||
O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Naam remain detached; through the Naam, their affairs are resolved. ||16||3||12||

ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਇਕੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥
मेरै प्रभि साचै इकु खेलु रचाइआ ॥
Merai parabẖ sācẖai ik kẖel racẖā▫i▫ā.
My True Lord God has staged a play.
|
ਕੋਇ ਨ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਜੇਹਾ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
कोइ न किस ही जेहा उपाइआ ॥
Ko▫e na kis hī jehā upā▫i▫ā.
He has created no one like anyone else.
|
ਆਪੇ ਫਰਕੁ ਕਰੇ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਮਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
आपे फरकु करे वेखि विगसै सभि रस देही माहा हे ॥१॥
Āpe farak kare vekẖ vigsai sabẖ ras ḏehī māhā he. ||1||
He made them different, and he gazes upon them with pleasure; he placed all the flavors in the body. ||1||
|
ਵਾਜੈ ਪਉਣੁ ਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਵਜਾਏ ॥
वाजै पउणु तै आपि वजाए ॥
vājai pa▫uṇ ṯai āp vajā▫e.
You Yourself vibrate the beat of the breath.
|
ਸਿਵ ਸਕਤੀ ਦੇਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
सिव सकती देही महि पाए ॥
Siv sakṯī ḏehī mėh pā▫e.
Shiva and Shakti, energy and matter - You have placed them into the body.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਉਲਟੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
गुर परसादी उलटी होवै गिआन रतनु सबदु ताहा हे ॥२॥
Gur parsādī ultī hovai gi▫ān raṯan sabaḏ ṯāhā he. ||2||
By Guru's Grace, one turns away from the world, and attains the jewel of spiritual wisdom, and the Word of the Shabad. ||2||
|
ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਆਪੇ ਕੀਆ ॥
अंधेरा चानणु आपे कीआ ॥
Anḏẖerā cẖānaṇ āpe kī▫ā.
He Himself created darkness and light.
|
ਏਕੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਬੀਆ ॥
एको वरतै अवरु न बीआ ॥
Ėko varṯai avar na bī▫ā.
He alone is pervasive; there is no other at all.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਬੁਧਿ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
गुर परसादी आपु पछाणै कमलु बिगसै बुधि ताहा हे ॥३॥
Gur parsādī āp pacẖẖāṇai kamal bigsai buḏẖ ṯāhā he. ||3||
One who realizes his own self - by Guru's Grace, the lotus of his mind blossoms forth. ||3||
|
ਅਪਣੀ ਗਹਣ ਗਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
अपणी गहण गति आपे जाणै ॥
Apṇī gahaṇ gaṯ āpe jāṇai.
Only He Himself knows His depth and extent.
|
ਹੋਰੁ ਲੋਕੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
होरु लोकु सुणि सुणि आखि वखाणै ॥
Hor lok suṇ suṇ ākẖ vakẖāṇai.
Other people can only listen and hear what is spoken and said.
|
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
गिआनी होवै सु गुरमुखि बूझै साची सिफति सलाहा हे ॥४॥
Gi▫ānī hovai so gurmukẖ būjẖai sācẖī sifaṯ salāhā he. ||4||
One who is spiritually wise, understands himself as Gurmukh; he praises the True Lord. ||4||
|
ਦੇਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
देही अंदरि वसतु अपारा ॥
Ḏehī anḏar vasaṯ apārā.
Deep within the body is the priceless object.
|
ਆਪੇ ਕਪਟ ਖੁਲਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
आपे कपट खुलावणहारा ॥
Āpe kapat kẖulāvaṇhārā.
He Himself opens the doors.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
गुरमुखि सहजे अम्रितु पीवै त्रिसना अगनि बुझाहा हे ॥५॥
Gurmukẖ sėhje amriṯ pīvai ṯarisnā agan bujẖāhā he. ||5||
The Gurmukh intuitively drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar, and the fire of desire is quenched. ||5||
|
ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
सभि रस देही अंदरि पाए ॥
Sabẖ ras ḏehī anḏar pā▫e.
He placed all the flavors within the body.
|
ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥
विरले कउ गुरु सबदु बुझाए ॥
virle ka▫o gur sabaḏ bujẖā▫e.
How rare are those who understand, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਅੰਦਰੁ ਖੋਜੇ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਜਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
अंदरु खोजे सबदु सालाहे बाहरि काहे जाहा हे ॥६॥
Anḏar kẖoje sabaḏ sālāhe bāhar kāhe jāhā he. ||6||
So search within yourself, and praise the Shabad. Why run around outside your self? ||6||
|
ਵਿਣੁ ਚਾਖੇ ਸਾਦੁ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥
विणु चाखे सादु किसै न आइआ ॥
viṇ cẖākẖe sāḏ kisai na ā▫i▫ā.
Without tasting, no one enjoys the flavor.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆਇਆ ॥
गुर कै सबदि अम्रितु पीआइआ ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ amriṯ pī▫ā▫i▫ā.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦੁ ਹੋਏ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਸੁ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
अम्रितु पी अमरा पदु होए गुर कै सबदि रसु ताहा हे ॥७॥
Amriṯ pī amrā paḏ ho▫e gur kai sabaḏ ras ṯāhā he. ||7||
The Ambrosial Nectar is drunk, and the immoral status is obtained, when one obtains the sublime essence of the Guru's Shabad. ||7||
|
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਸੋ ਸਭਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
आपु पछाणै सो सभि गुण जाणै ॥
Āp pacẖẖāṇai so sabẖ guṇ jāṇai.
One who realizes himself, knows all virtues.
