ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤੂ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ॥
जह देखा तू सभनी थाई ॥
Jah ḏekẖā ṯū sabẖnī thā▫ī.
Wherever I look, I see You, everywhere.
|
ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਭ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
पूरै गुरि सभ सोझी पाई ॥
Pūrai gur sabẖ sojẖī pā▫ī.
Through the Perfect Guru, all this is known.
|
ਨਾਮੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਦਾ ਸਦ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥
नामो नामु धिआईऐ सदा सद इहु मनु नामे राता हे ॥१२॥
Nāmo nām ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai saḏā saḏ ih man nāme rāṯā he. ||12||
I meditate forever and ever on the Naam; this mind is imbued with the Naam. ||12||
|
ਨਾਮੇ ਰਾਤਾ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥
नामे राता पवितु सरीरा ॥
Nāme rāṯā paviṯ sarīrā.
Imbued with the Naam, the body is sanctified.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਡੂਬਿ ਮੁਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਨੀਰਾ ॥
बिनु नावै डूबि मुए बिनु नीरा ॥
Bin nāvai dūb mu▫e bin nīrā.
Without the Naam, they are drowned and die without water.

ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਵਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਇਕਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥
आवहि जावहि नामु नही बूझहि इकना गुरमुखि सबदु पछाता हे ॥१३॥
Āvahi jāvėh nām nahī būjẖėh iknā gurmukẖ sabaḏ pacẖẖāṯā he. ||13||
They come and go, but do not understand the Naam. Some, as Gurmukh, realize the Word of the Shabad. ||13||
|
ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
पूरै सतिगुरि बूझ बुझाई ॥
Pūrai saṯgur būjẖ bujẖā▫ī.
The Perfect True Guru has imparted this understanding.

ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
विणु नावै मुकति किनै न पाई ॥
viṇ nāvai mukaṯ kinai na pā▫ī.
Without the Name, no one attains liberation.

ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਹਜਿ ਰਹੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥
नामे नामि मिलै वडिआई सहजि रहै रंगि राता हे ॥१४॥
Nāme nām milai vadi▫ā▫ī sahj rahai rang rāṯā he. ||14||
Through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, one is blessed with glorious greatness; he remains intuitively attuned to the Lord's Love. ||14||
|
ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰੁ ਢਹੈ ਢਹਿ ਢੇਰੀ ॥
काइआ नगरु ढहै ढहि ढेरी ॥
Kā▫i▫ā nagar dẖahai dẖėh dẖerī.
The body-village crumbles and collapses into a pile of dust.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਚੂਕੈ ਨਹੀ ਫੇਰੀ ॥
बिनु सबदै चूकै नही फेरी ॥
Bin sabḏai cẖūkai nahī ferī.
Without the Shabad, the cycle of reincarnation is not brought to an end.

ਸਾਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੇ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥
साचु सलाहे साचि समावै जिनि गुरमुखि एको जाता हे ॥१५॥
Sācẖ salāhe sācẖ samāvai jin gurmukẖ eko jāṯā he. ||15||
One who knows the One Lord, through the True Guru, praises the True Lord, and remains immersed in the True Lord. ||15||
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ॥
जिस नो नदरि करे सो पाए ॥
Jis no naḏar kare so pā▫e.
When the Lord bestows His Glance of Grace,
|
ਸਾਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਏ ॥
साचा सबदु वसै मनि आए ॥
Sācẖā sabaḏ vasai man ā▫e.
the True Word of the Shabad comes to dwell in the mind.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀ ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੮॥
नानक नामि रते निरंकारी दरि साचै साचु पछाता हे ॥१६॥८॥
Nānak nām raṯe nirankārī ḏar sācẖai sācẖ pacẖẖāṯā he. ||16||8||
O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Formless Lord, realize the True Lord in His True Court. ||16||8||

ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
आपे करता सभु जिसु करणा ॥
Āpe karṯā sabẖ jis karṇā.
O Creator, it is You Yourself who does all.
|
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾ ॥
जीअ जंत सभि तेरी सरणा ॥
Jī▫a janṯ sabẖ ṯerī sarṇā.
All beings and creatures are under Your Protection.
|
ਆਪੇ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
आपे गुपतु वरतै सभ अंतरि गुर कै सबदि पछाता हे ॥१॥
Āpe gupaṯ varṯai sabẖ anṯar gur kai sabaḏ pacẖẖāṯā he. ||1||
You are hidden, and yet permeating within all; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, You are realized. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
हरि के भगति भरे भंडारा ॥
Har ke bẖagaṯ bẖare bẖandārā.
Devotion to the Lord is a treasure overflowing.
|
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
आपे बखसे सबदि वीचारा ॥
Āpe bakẖse sabaḏ vīcẖārā.
He Himself blesses us with contemplative meditation on the Shabad.
|
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਸਹਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
जो तुधु भावै सोई करसहि सचे सिउ मनु राता हे ॥२॥
Jo ṯuḏẖ bẖāvai so▫ī karsėh sacẖe si▫o man rāṯā he. ||2||
You do whatever You please; my mind is attuned to the True Lord. ||2||
|
ਆਪੇ ਹੀਰਾ ਰਤਨੁ ਅਮੋਲੋ ॥
आपे हीरा रतनु अमोलो ॥
Āpe hīrā raṯan amolo.
You Yourself are the priceless diamond and jewel.
|
ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰੀ ਤੋਲੇ ਤੋਲੋ ॥
आपे नदरी तोले तोलो ॥
Āpe naḏrī ṯole ṯolo.
In Your Mercy, You weigh with Your scale.
|
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
जीअ जंत सभि सरणि तुमारी करि किरपा आपि पछाता हे ॥३॥
Jī▫a janṯ sabẖ saraṇ ṯumārī kar kirpā āp pacẖẖāṯā he. ||3||
All beings and creatures are under Your protection. One who is blessed by Your Grace realizes his own self. ||3||
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਧੁਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
जिस नो नदरि होवै धुरि तेरी ॥
Jis no naḏar hovai ḏẖur ṯerī.
One who receives Your Mercy, O Primal Lord,
|
ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜੰਮੈ ਚੂਕੈ ਫੇਰੀ ॥
मरै न जमै चूकै फेरी ॥
Marai na jammai cẖūkai ferī.
does not die, and is not reborn; he is released from the cycle of reincarnation.
|
ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
साचे गुण गावै दिनु राती जुगि जुगि एको जाता हे ॥४॥
Sācẖe guṇ gāvai ḏin rāṯī jug jug eko jāṯā he. ||4||
He sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord, day and night, and, throughout the ages, he knows the One Lord. ||4||
|
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
माइआ मोहि सभु जगतु उपाइआ ॥
Mā▫i▫ā mohi sabẖ jagaṯ upā▫i▫ā.
Emotional attachment to Maya wells up throughout the whole world,
|
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਦੇਵ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥
ब्रहमा बिसनु देव सबाइआ ॥
Barahmā bisan ḏev sabā▫i▫ā.
from Brahma, Vishnu and all the demi-gods.
|
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣੇ ਸੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਮਤੀ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
जो तुधु भाणे से नामि लागे गिआन मती पछाता हे ॥५॥
Jo ṯuḏẖ bẖāṇe se nām lāge gi▫ān maṯī pacẖẖāṯā he. ||5||
Those who are pleasing to Your Will, are attached to the Naam; through spiritual wisdom and understanding, You are recognized. ||5||
|
ਪਾਪ ਪੁੰਨ ਵਰਤੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
पाप पुंन वरतै संसारा ॥
Pāp punn varṯai sansārā.
The world is engrossed in vice and virtue.
|
ਹਰਖੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਰਾ ॥
हरखु सोगु सभु दुखु है भारा ॥
Harakẖ sog sabẖ ḏukẖ hai bẖārā.
Happiness and misery are totally loaded with pain.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
गुरमुखि होवै सो सुखु पाए जिनि गुरमुखि नामु पछाता हे ॥६॥
Gurmukẖ hovai so sukẖ pā▫e jin gurmukẖ nām pacẖẖāṯā he. ||6||
One who becomes Gurmukh finds peace; such a Gurmukh recognizes the Naam. ||6||
|
ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
किरतु न कोई मेटणहारा ॥
Kiraṯ na ko▫ī metaṇhārā.
No one can erase the record of one's actions.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦੇ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥
गुर कै सबदे मोख दुआरा ॥
Gur kai sabḏe mokẖ ḏu▫ārā.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one finds the door of salvation.
|
ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੋ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
पूरबि लिखिआ सो फलु पाइआ जिनि आपु मारि पछाता हे ॥७॥
Pūrab likẖi▫ā so fal pā▫i▫ā jin āp mār pacẖẖāṯā he. ||7||
One who conquers self-conceit and recognizes the Lord, obtains the fruits of his pre-destined rewards. ||7||
|
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
माइआ मोहि हरि सिउ चितु न लागै ॥
Mā▫i▫ā mohi har si▫o cẖiṯ na lāgai.
Emotionally attached to Maya, one's consciousness is not attached to the Lord.
|
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਘਣਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ॥
दूजै भाइ घणा दुखु आगै ॥
Ḏūjai bẖā▫e gẖaṇā ḏukẖ āgai.
In the love of duality, he will suffer terrible agony in the world hereafter.
|
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੇ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
मनमुख भरमि भुले भेखधारी अंत कालि पछुताता हे ॥८॥
Manmukẖ bẖaram bẖule bẖekẖ▫ḏẖārī anṯ kāl pacẖẖuṯāṯā he. ||8||
The hypocritical, self-willed manmukhs are deluded by doubt; at the very last moment, they regret and repent. ||8||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥
हरि कै भाणै हरि गुण गाए ॥
Har kai bẖāṇai har guṇ gā▫e.
In accordance with the Lord's Will, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
|
ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਦੂਖ ਸਬਾਏ ॥
सभि किलबिख काटे दूख सबाए ॥
Sabẖ kilbikẖ kāte ḏūkẖ sabā▫e.
He is rid of all sins, and all suffering.
|
ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੈ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
हरि निरमलु निरमल है बाणी हरि सेती मनु राता हे ॥९॥
Har nirmal nirmal hai baṇī har seṯī man rāṯā he. ||9||
The Lord is immaculate, and immaculate is the Word of His Bani. My mind is imbued with the Lord. ||9||
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
जिस नो नदरि करे सो गुण निधि पाए ॥
Jis no naḏar kare so guṇ niḏẖ pā▫e.
One who is blessed with the Lord's Glance of Grace, obtains the Lord, the treasure of virtue.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਏ ॥
हउमै मेरा ठाकि रहाए ॥
Ha▫umai merā ṯẖāk rahā▫e.
Egotism and possessiveness are brought to an end.
|
ਗੁਣ ਅਵਗਣ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲੀ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥
गुण अवगण का एको दाता गुरमुखि विरली जाता हे ॥१०॥
Guṇ avgaṇ kā eko ḏāṯā gurmukẖ virlī jāṯā he. ||10||
The One Lord is the only Giver of virtue and vice, merits and demerits; how rare are those who, as Gurmukh, understand this. ||10||
|
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
मेरा प्रभु निरमलु अति अपारा ॥
Merā parabẖ nirmal aṯ apārā.
My God is immaculate, and utterly infinite.

ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
आपे मेलै गुर सबदि वीचारा ॥
Āpe melai gur sabaḏ vīcẖārā.
God unites with Himself, through contemplation of the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
