ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਵਹੁ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੩੫॥
करि किरपा प्रभु भगती लावहु सचु नानक अम्रितु पीए जीउ ॥४॥२८॥३५॥
Kar kirpā parabẖ bẖagṯī lāvhu sacẖ Nānak amriṯ pī▫e jī▫o. ||4||28||35||
Shower Your Mercy upon me, God; let me be committed to devotional worship. Nanak drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar of Truth. ||4||28||35||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ
माझ महला ५ ॥
Mājẖ mėhlā 5.
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਸਾਈ
भए क्रिपाल गोविंद गुसाई ॥
Bẖa▫e kirpāl govinḏ gusā▫ī.
The Lord of the Universe, the Support of the earth, has become Merciful;

ਮੇਘੁ ਵਰਸੈ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ
मेघु वरसै सभनी थाई ॥
Megẖ varsai sabẖnī thā▫ī.
the rain is falling everywhere.

ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਸਦਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ਠਾਢਿ ਪਾਈ ਕਰਤਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
दीन दइआल सदा किरपाला ठाढि पाई करतारे जीउ ॥१॥
Ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl saḏā kirpālā ṯẖādẖ pā▫ī karṯāre jī▫o. ||1||
He is Merciful to the meek, always Kind and Gentle; the Creator has brought cooling relief. ||1||

ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੇ
अपुने जीअ जंत प्रतिपारे ॥
Apune jī▫a janṯ parṯipāre.
He cherishes all His beings and creatures,

ਜਿਉ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੰਮਾਰੇ
जिउ बारिक माता समारे ॥
Ji▫o bārik māṯā sammāre.
as the mother cares for her children.

ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇਤ ਸਗਲ ਆਹਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
दुख भंजन सुख सागर सुआमी देत सगल आहारे जीउ ॥२॥
Ḏukẖ bẖanjan sukẖ sāgar su▫āmī ḏeṯ sagal āhāre jī▫o. ||2||
The Destroyer of pain, the Ocean of Peace, the Lord and Master gives sustenance to all. ||2||

ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਾ
जलि थलि पूरि रहिआ मिहरवाना ॥
Jal thal pūr rahi▫ā miharvānā.
The Merciful Lord is totally pervading and permeating the water and the land.

ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ
सद बलिहारि जाईऐ कुरबाना ॥
Saḏ balihār jā▫ī▫ai kurbānā.
I am forever devoted, a sacrifice to Him.

ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈ ਜਿ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
रैणि दिनसु तिसु सदा धिआई जि खिन महि सगल उधारे जीउ ॥३॥
Raiṇ ḏinas ṯis saḏā ḏẖi▫ā▫ī jė kẖin mėh sagal uḏẖāre jī▫o. ||3||
Night and day, I always meditate on Him; in an instant, He saves all. ||3||

ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਸਗਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪੇ
राखि लीए सगले प्रभि आपे ॥
Rākẖ lī▫e sagle parabẖ āpe.
God Himself protects all;

ਉਤਰਿ ਗਏ ਸਭ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪੇ
उतरि गए सभ सोग संतापे ॥
Uṯar ga▫e sabẖ sog sanṯāpe.
He drives out all sorrow and suffering.

ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੩੬॥
नामु जपत मनु तनु हरीआवलु प्रभ नानक नदरि निहारे जीउ ॥४॥२९॥३६॥
Nām japaṯ man ṯan harī▫āval parabẖ Nānak naḏar nihāre jī▫o. ||4||29||36||
Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind and body are rejuvenated. O Nanak, God has bestowed His Glance of Grace. ||4||29||36||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ
माझ महला ५ ॥
Mājẖ mėhlā 5.
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਿਥੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਿਆਰੇ
जिथै नामु जपीऐ प्रभ पिआरे ॥
Jithai nām japī▫ai parabẖ pi▫āre.
Where the Naam, the Name of God the Beloved is chanted -

ਸੇ ਅਸਥਲ ਸੋਇਨ ਚਉਬਾਰੇ
से असथल सोइन चउबारे ॥
Se asthal so▫in cẖa▫ubāre.
those barren places become mansions of gold.

ਜਿਥੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਇਦਾ ਸੇਈ ਨਗਰ ਉਜਾੜੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
जिथै नामु न जपीऐ मेरे गोइदा सेई नगर उजाड़ी जीउ ॥१॥
Jithai nām na japī▫ai mere go▫iḏā se▫ī nagar ujāṛī jī▫o. ||1||
Where the Naam, the Name of my Lord of the Universe is not chanted-those towns are like the barren wilderness. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਰੁਖੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਇ ਸਮਾਲੇ
हरि रुखी रोटी खाइ समाले ॥
Har rukẖī rotī kẖā▫e samāle.
One who meditates as he eats dry bread,

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੇ
हरि अंतरि बाहरि नदरि निहाले ॥
Har anṯar bāhar naḏar nihāle.
sees the Blessed Lord inwardly and outwardly.

ਖਾਇ ਖਾਇ ਕਰੇ ਬਦਫੈਲੀ ਜਾਣੁ ਵਿਸੂ ਕੀ ਵਾੜੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
खाइ खाइ करे बदफैली जाणु विसू की वाड़ी जीउ ॥२॥
Kẖā▫e kẖā▫e kare baḏfailī jāṇ visū kī vāṛī jī▫o. ||2||
Know this well, that one who eats and eats while practicing evil, is like a field of poisonous plants. ||2||

ਸੰਤਾ ਸੇਤੀ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਏ
संता सेती रंगु न लाए ॥
Sanṯā seṯī rang na lā▫e.
One who does not feel love for the Saints,

ਸਾਕਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਵਿਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਏ
साकत संगि विकरम कमाए ॥
Sākaṯ sang vikram kamā▫e.
misbehaves in the company of the wicked shaaktas, the faithless cynics;

ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਖੋਈ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਜੜ ਅਪੁਣੀ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾੜੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
दुलभ देह खोई अगिआनी जड़ अपुणी आपि उपाड़ी जीउ ॥३॥
Ḏulabẖ ḏeh kẖo▫ī agi▫ānī jaṛ apuṇī āp upāṛī jī▫o. ||3||
he wastes this human body, so difficult to obtain. In his ignorance, he tears up his own roots. ||3||

ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ
तेरी सरणि मेरे दीन दइआला ॥
Ŧerī saraṇ mere ḏīn ḏa▫i▫ālā.
I seek Your Sanctuary, O my Lord, Merciful to the meek,

ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ
सुख सागर मेरे गुर गोपाला ॥
Sukẖ sāgar mere gur gopālā.
Ocean of Peace, my Guru, Sustainer of the world.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸਰਮ ਅਸਾੜੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੩੭॥
करि किरपा नानकु गुण गावै राखहु सरम असाड़ी जीउ ॥४॥३०॥३७॥
Kar kirpā Nānak guṇ gāvai rākẖo saram asāṛī jī▫o. ||4||30||37||
Shower Your Mercy upon Nanak, that he may sing Your Glorious Praises; please, preserve my honor. ||4||30||37||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ
माझ महला ५ ॥
Mājẖ mėhlā 5.
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਚਰਣ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਣੇ
चरण ठाकुर के रिदै समाणे ॥
Cẖaraṇ ṯẖākur ke riḏai samāṇe.
I cherish in my heart the Feet of my Lord and Master.

ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਸਭ ਦੂਰਿ ਪਇਆਣੇ
कलि कलेस सभ दूरि पइआणे ॥
Kal kales sabẖ ḏūr pa▫i▫āṇe.
All my troubles and sufferings have run away.

ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਿ ਉਪਜੀ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
सांति सूख सहज धुनि उपजी साधू संगि निवासा जीउ ॥१॥
Sāʼnṯ sūkẖ sahj ḏẖun upjī sāḏẖū sang nivāsā jī▫o. ||1||
The music of intuitive peace, poise and tranquility wells up within; I dwell in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||

ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਤੂਟੈ ਮੂਲੇ
लागी प्रीति न तूटै मूले ॥
Lāgī parīṯ na ṯūtai mūle.
The bonds of love with the Lord are never broken.

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ
हरि अंतरि बाहरि रहिआ भरपूरे ॥
Har anṯar bāhar rahi▫ā bẖarpūre.
The Lord is totally permeating and pervading inside and out.

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
सिमरि सिमरि सिमरि गुण गावा काटी जम की फासा जीउ ॥२॥
Simar simar simar guṇ gāvā kātī jam kī fāsā jī▫o. ||2||
Meditating, meditating, meditating in remembrance on Him, singing His Glorious Praises, the noose of death is cut away. ||2||

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਵਰਖੈ ਅਨਹਦ ਬਾਣੀ
अम्रितु वरखै अनहद बाणी ॥
Amriṯ varkẖai anhaḏ baṇī.
The Ambrosial Nectar, the Unstruck Melody of Gurbani rains down continually;

ਮਨ ਤਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ
मन तन अंतरि सांति समाणी ॥
Man ṯan anṯar sāʼnṯ samāṇī.
deep within my mind and body, peace and tranquility have come.

ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਇ ਰਹੇ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
त्रिपति अघाइ रहे जन तेरे सतिगुरि कीआ दिलासा जीउ ॥३॥
Ŧaripaṯ agẖā▫e rahe jan ṯere saṯgur kī▫ā ḏilāsā jī▫o. ||3||
Your humble servants remain satisfied and fulfilled, and the True Guru blesses them with encouragement and comfort. ||3||

ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਾ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ
जिस का सा तिस ते फलु पाइआ ॥
Jis kā sā ṯis ṯe fal pā▫i▫ā.
We are His, and from Him, we receive our rewards.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ
करि किरपा प्रभ संगि मिलाइआ ॥
Kar kirpā parabẖ sang milā▫i▫ā.
Showering His Mercy upon us, God has united us with Him.

ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਹੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੧॥੩੮॥
आवण जाण रहे वडभागी नानक पूरन आसा जीउ ॥४॥३१॥३८॥
Āvaṇ jāṇ rahe vadbẖāgī Nānak pūran āsā jī▫o. ||4||31||38||
Our comings and goings have ended, and through great good fortune, O Nanak, our hopes are fulfilled. ||4||31||38||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ
माझ महला ५ ॥
Mājẖ mėhlā 5.
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਮੀਹੁ ਪਇਆ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ
मीहु पइआ परमेसरि पाइआ ॥
Mīhu pa▫i▫ā parmesar pā▫i▫ā.
The rain has fallen; I have found the Transcendent Lord God.

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖੀ ਵਸਾਇਆ
जीअ जंत सभि सुखी वसाइआ ॥
Jī▫a janṯ sabẖ sukẖī vasā▫i▫ā.
All beings and creatures dwell in peace.

ਗਇਆ ਕਲੇਸੁ ਭਇਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
गइआ कलेसु भइआ सुखु साचा हरि हरि नामु समाली जीउ ॥१॥
Ga▫i▫ā kales bẖa▫i▫ā sukẖ sācẖā har har nām samālī jī▫o. ||1||
Suffering has been dispelled, and true happiness has dawned, as we meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਸੇ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੇ
जिस के से तिन ही प्रतिपारे ॥
Jis ke se ṯin hī parṯipāre.
The One, to whom we belong, cherishes and nurtures us.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਰਖਵਾਰੇ
पारब्रहम प्रभ भए रखवारे ॥
Pārbarahm parabẖ bẖa▫e rakẖvāre.
The Supreme Lord God has become our Protector.

ਸੁਣੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਘਾਲੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
सुणी बेनंती ठाकुरि मेरै पूरन होई घाली जीउ ॥२॥
Suṇī benanṯī ṯẖākur merai pūran ho▫ī gẖālī jī▫o. ||2||
My Lord and Master has heard my prayer; my efforts have been rewarded. ||2||
