ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
मेरे मन नामु हिरदै धारि ॥
Mere man nām hirḏai ḏẖār.
O my mind, enshrine the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within your heart.

ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਲਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਅਵਰ ਸਗਲ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
करि प्रीति मनु तनु लाइ हरि सिउ अवर सगल विसारि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kar parīṯ man ṯan lā▫e har si▫o avar sagal visār. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Love the Lord, and commit your mind and body to Him; forget everything else. ||1||Pause||

ਜੀਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਤੂ ਆਪਨ ਆਪੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥
जीउ मनु तनु प्राण प्रभ के तू आपन आपु निवारि ॥
Jī▫o man ṯan parāṇ parabẖ ke ṯū āpan āp nivār.
Soul, mind, body and breath of life belong to God; eliminate your self-conceit.

ਗੋਵਿਦ ਭਜੁ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਆਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਹਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੪॥੨੭॥
गोविद भजु सभि सुआरथ पूरे नानक कबहु न हारि ॥२॥४॥२७॥
Goviḏ bẖaj sabẖ su▫ārath pūre Nānak kabahu na hār. ||2||4||27||
Meditate, vibrate on the Lord of the Universe, and all your desires shall be fulfilled; O Nanak, you shall never be defeated. ||2||4||27||

ਤਜਿ ਆਪੁ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਤਾਪੁ ਰੇਣ ਸਾਧੂ ਥੀਉ ॥
तजि आपु बिनसी तापु रेण साधू थीउ ॥
Ŧaj āp binsī ṯāp reṇ sāḏẖū thī▫o.
Renounce your self-conceit, and the fever shall depart; become the dust of the feet of the Holy.

ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੀਉ ॥੧॥
तिसहि परापति नामु तेरा करि क्रिपा जिसु दीउ ॥१॥
Ŧisėh parāpaṯ nām ṯerā kar kirpā jis ḏī▫o. ||1||
He alone receives Your Name, Lord, whom You bless with Your Mercy. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਉ ॥
मेरे मन नामु अम्रितु पीउ ॥
Mere man nām amriṯ pī▫o.
O my mind, drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਆਨ ਸਾਦ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਹੋਛੇ ਅਮਰੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
आन साद बिसारि होछे अमरु जुगु जुगु जीउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ān sāḏ bisār hocẖẖe amar jug jug jī▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Abandon other bland, insipid tastes; become immortal, and live throughout the ages. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਮੁ ਇਕ ਰਸ ਰੰਗ ਨਾਮਾ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਲੀਉ ॥
नामु इक रस रंग नामा नामि लागी लीउ ॥
Nām ik ras rang nāmā nām lāgī lī▫o.
Savor the essence of the One and only Naam; love the Naam, focus and attune yourself to the Naam.

ਮੀਤੁ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਸਖਾ ਬੰਧਪੁ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀਉ ॥੨॥੫॥੨੮॥
मीतु साजनु सखा बंधपु हरि एकु नानक कीउ ॥२॥५॥२८॥
Mīṯ sājan sakẖā banḏẖap har ek Nānak kī▫o. ||2||5||28||
Nanak has made the One Lord his only friend, companion and relative. ||2||5||28||

ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਉਦਰਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਲਗਨਿ ਦੇਤ ਨ ਸੇਕ ॥
प्रतिपालि माता उदरि राखै लगनि देत न सेक ॥
Parṯipāl māṯā uḏar rākẖai lagan ḏeṯ na sek.
He nourishes and preserves mortals in the womb of the mother, so that the fiery heat does not hurt them.

ਸੋਈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਈਹਾ ਰਾਖੈ ਬੂਝੁ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥੧॥
सोई सुआमी ईहा राखै बूझु बुधि बिबेक ॥१॥
So▫ī su▫āmī īhā rākẖai būjẖ buḏẖ bibek. ||1||
That Lord and Master protects us here. Understand this in your mind. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਟੇਕ ॥
मेरे मन नाम की करि टेक ॥
Mere man nām kī kar tek.
O my mind, take the Support of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਤਿਸਹਿ ਬੂਝੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਤੂ ਕੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਏਕ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तिसहि बूझु जिनि तू कीआ प्रभु करण कारण एक ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧisėh būjẖ jin ṯū kī▫ā parabẖ karaṇ kāraṇ ek. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Understand the One who created you; the One God is the Cause of causes. ||1||Pause||

ਚੇਤਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਤਜਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਛੋਡਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਭੇਖ ॥
चेति मन महि तजि सिआणप छोडि सगले भेख ॥
Cẖeṯ man mėh ṯaj si▫āṇap cẖẖod sagle bẖekẖ.
Remember the One Lord in your mind, renounce your clever tricks, and give up all your religious robes.

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਰੇ ਕਈ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੨॥੬॥੨੯॥
सिमरि हरि हरि सदा नानक तरे कई अनेक ॥२॥६॥२९॥
Simar har har saḏā Nānak ṯare ka▫ī anek. ||2||6||29||
Meditating in remembrance forever on the Lord, Har, Har, O Nanak, countless beings have been saved. ||2||6||29||

ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਹੈ ਨਾਥੁ ॥
पतित पावन नामु जा को अनाथ को है नाथु ॥
Paṯiṯ pāvan nām jā ko anāth ko hai nāth.
His Name is the Purifier of sinners; He is the Master of the masterless.

ਮਹਾ ਭਉਜਲ ਮਾਹਿ ਤੁਲਹੋ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਲਿਖਿਓ ਮਾਥ ॥੧॥
महा भउजल माहि तुलहो जा को लिखिओ माथ ॥१॥
Mahā bẖa▫ojal māhi ṯulho jā ko likẖi▫o māth. ||1||
In the vast and terrifying world-ocean, he is the raft for those who have such destiny inscribed on their foreheads. ||1||
|
ਡੂਬੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਘਨ ਸਾਥ ॥
डूबे नाम बिनु घन साथ ॥
Dūbe nām bin gẖan sāth.
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, huge numbers of companions have drowned.
|
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਹਾਥ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
करण कारणु चिति न आवै दे करि राखै हाथ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Karaṇ kāraṇ cẖiṯ na āvai ḏe kar rākẖai hāth. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Even if someone does not remember the Lord, the Cause of causes, still, the Lord reaches out with His hand, and saves him. ||1||Pause||

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾਥ ॥
साधसंगति गुण उचारण हरि नाम अम्रित पाथ ॥
Sāḏẖsangaṯ guṇ ucẖāraṇ har nām amriṯ pāth.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and take the Path of the Ambrosial Name of the Lord.

ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਮਾਧਉ ਸੁਣਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵੈ ਗਾਥ ॥੨॥੭॥੩੦॥
करहु क्रिपा मुरारि माधउ सुणि नानक जीवै गाथ ॥२॥७॥३०॥
Karahu kirpā murār māḏẖa▫o suṇ Nānak jīvai gāth. ||2||7||30||
Shower me with Your Mercy, O Lord; listening to Your sermon, Nanak lives. ||2||7||30||

Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਹੀ ਹੂਆ ॥
संजोगु विजोगु धुरहु ही हूआ ॥
Sanjog vijog ḏẖarahu hī hū▫ā.
Union and separation are ordained by the Primal Lord God.

ਪੰਚ ਧਾਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੁਤਲਾ ਕੀਆ ॥
पंच धातु करि पुतला कीआ ॥
Pancẖ ḏẖāṯ kar puṯlā kī▫ā.
The puppet is made from the five elements.
|
ਸਾਹੈ ਕੈ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਅੜੈ ਜੀ ਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਇ ਪਇਆ ॥੧॥
साहै कै फुरमाइअड़ै जी देही विचि जीउ आइ पइआ ॥१॥
Sāhai kai furmā▫i▫aṛai jī ḏehī vicẖ jī▫o ā▫e pa▫i▫ā. ||1||
By the Command of the Dear Lord King, the soul came and entered into the body. ||1||
|
ਜਿਥੈ ਅਗਨਿ ਭਖੈ ਭੜਹਾਰੇ ॥
जिथै अगनि भखै भड़हारे ॥
Jithai agan bẖakẖai bẖaṛhāre.
In that place, where the fire rages like an oven,
|
ਊਰਧ ਮੁਖ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਬਾਰੇ ॥
ऊरध मुख महा गुबारे ॥
Ūraḏẖ mukẖ mahā gubāre.
in that darkness where the body lies face down -
|
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਲੇ ਸੋਈ ਓਥੈ ਖਸਮਿ ਛਡਾਇ ਲਇਆ ॥੨॥
सासि सासि समाले सोई ओथै खसमि छडाइ लइआ ॥२॥
Sās sās samāle so▫ī othai kẖasam cẖẖadā▫e la▫i▫ā. ||2||
there, one remembers his Lord and Master with each and every breath, and then he is rescued. ||2||
|
ਵਿਚਹੁ ਗਰਭੈ ਨਿਕਲਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
विचहु गरभै निकलि आइआ ॥
vicẖahu garbẖai nikal ā▫i▫ā.
Then, one comes out from within the womb,
|
ਖਸਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਦੁਨੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
खसमु विसारि दुनी चितु लाइआ ॥
Kẖasam visār ḏunī cẖiṯ lā▫i▫ā.
and forgetting his Lord and Master, he attaches his consciousness to the world.

ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਭਵਾਈਐ ਜੋਨੀ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਕਿਤਹੀ ਥਾਇ ਭਇਆ ॥੩॥
आवै जाइ भवाईऐ जोनी रहणु न कितही थाइ भइआ ॥३॥
Āvai jā▫e bẖavā▫ī▫ai jonī rahaṇ na kiṯhī thā▫e bẖa▫i▫ā. ||3||
He comes and goes, and wanders in reincarnation; he cannot remain anywhere. ||3||
|
ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਿ ਰਖਿ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਆਪੇ ॥
मिहरवानि रखि लइअनु आपे ॥
Miharvān rakẖ la▫i▫an āpe.
The Merciful Lord Himself emancipates.
|
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਥਾਪੇ ॥
जीअ जंत सभि तिस के थापे ॥
Jī▫a janṯ sabẖ ṯis ke thāpe.
He created and established all beings and creatures.
|
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜਿਣਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਥਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੧॥
जनमु पदारथु जिणि चलिआ नानक आइआ सो परवाणु थिआ ॥४॥१॥३१॥
Janam paḏārath jiṇ cẖali▫ā Nānak ā▫i▫ā so parvāṇ thi▫ā. ||4||1||31||
Those who depart after having been victorious in this priceless human life - O Nanak, their coming into the world is approved. ||4||1||31||
