ਅਟਲ ਅਖਇਓ ਦੇਵਾ ਮੋਹਨ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
अटल अखइओ देवा मोहन अलख अपारा ॥
Atal akẖi▫o ḏevā mohan alakẖ apārā.
You are eternal and unchanging, imperishable, invisible and infinite, O divine fascinating Lord.

ਦਾਨੁ ਪਾਵਉ ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਰੇਨੁ ਦਾਸਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੨੨॥
दानु पावउ संता संगु नानक रेनु दासारा ॥४॥६॥२२॥
Ḏān pāva▫o sanṯā sang Nānak ren ḏāsārā. ||4||6||22||
Please bless Nanak with the gift of the Society of the Saints, and the dust of the feet of Your slaves. ||4||6||22||

Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:

ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਆਘਾਏ ਸੰਤਾ ॥
त्रिपति आघाए संता ॥
Ŧaripaṯ āgẖā▫e sanṯā.
The Saints are fulfilled and satisfied;
|
ਗੁਰ ਜਾਨੇ ਜਿਨ ਮੰਤਾ ॥
गुर जाने जिन मंता ॥
Gur jāne jin mannṯā.
they know the Guru's Mantra and the Teachings.
|
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
ता की किछु कहनु न जाई ॥
Ŧā kī kicẖẖ kahan na jā▫ī.
They cannot even be described;
|
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਾਮ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੧॥
जा कउ नाम बडाई ॥१॥
Jā ka▫o nām badā▫ī. ||1||
they are blessed with the glorious greatness of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
|
ਲਾਲੁ ਅਮੋਲਾ ਲਾਲੋ ॥
लालु अमोला लालो ॥
Lāl amolā lālo.
My Beloved is a priceless jewel.
|
ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲਾ ਨਾਮੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अगह अतोला नामो ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Agah aṯolā nāmo. ||1|| rahā▫o.
His Name is unattainable and immeasurable. ||1||Pause||
|
ਅਵਿਗਤ ਸਿਉ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਮਾਨੋ ॥
अविगत सिउ मानिआ मानो ॥
Avigaṯ si▫o māni▫ā māno.
One whose mind is satisfied believing in the imperishable Lord God,
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੋ ॥
गुरमुखि ततु गिआनो ॥
Gurmukẖ ṯaṯ gi▫āno.
becomes Gurmukh and attains the essence of spiritual wisdom.
|
ਪੇਖਤ ਸਗਲ ਧਿਆਨੋ ॥
पेखत सगल धिआनो ॥
Pekẖaṯ sagal ḏẖi▫āno.
He sees all in his meditation.
|
ਤਜਿਓ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੋ ॥੨॥
तजिओ मन ते अभिमानो ॥२॥
Ŧaji▫o man ṯe abẖimāno. ||2||
He banishes egotistical pride from his mind. ||2||
|
ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਠਾਣਾ ॥
निहचलु तिन का ठाणा ॥
Nihcẖal ṯin kā ṯẖāṇā.
Permanent is the place of those
|
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਛਾਣਾ ॥
गुर ते महलु पछाणा ॥
Gur ṯe mahal pacẖẖāṇā.
who, through the Guru, realize the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
अनदिनु गुर मिलि जागे ॥
An▫ḏin gur mil jāge.
Meeting the Guru, they remain awake and aware night and day;
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੩॥
हरि की सेवा लागे ॥३॥
Har kī sevā lāge. ||3||
they are committed to the Lord's service. ||3||
|
ਪੂਰਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ॥
पूरन त्रिपति अघाए ॥
Pūran ṯaripaṯ agẖā▫e.
They are perfectly fulfilled and satisfied,
|
ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥
सहज समाधि सुभाए ॥
Sahj samāḏẖ subẖā▫e.
intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi.
|
ਹਰਿ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ਹਾਥਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
हरि भंडारु हाथि आइआ ॥
Har bẖandār hāth ā▫i▫ā.
The Lord's treasure comes into their hands;
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੭॥੨੩॥
नानक गुर ते पाइआ ॥४॥७॥२३॥
Nānak gur ṯe pā▫i▫ā. ||4||7||23||
O Nanak, through the Guru, they attain it. ||4||7||23||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਛੋਡਿ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਆਣਪਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥
छोडि सगल सिआणपा मिलि साध तिआगि गुमानु ॥
Cẖẖod sagal si▫āṇpā mil sāḏẖ ṯi▫āg gumān.
Abandon all your clever tricks; meet with the Holy, and renounce your egotistical pride.

ਅਵਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਵਖਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
अवरु सभु किछु मिथिआ रसना राम राम वखानु ॥१॥
Avar sabẖ kicẖẖ mithi▫ā rasnā rām rām vakẖān. ||1||
Everything else is false; with your tongue, chant the Name of the Lord, Raam, Raam. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਰਨ ਸੁਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
मेरे मन करन सुणि हरि नामु ॥
Mere man karan suṇ har nām.
O my mind, with your ears, listen to the Name of the Lord.

ਮਿਟਹਿ ਅਘ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਵਨੁ ਬਪੁਰੋ ਜਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मिटहि अघ तेरे जनम जनम के कवनु बपुरो जामु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mitėh agẖ ṯere janam janam ke kavan bapuro jām. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The sins of your many past lifetimes shall be washed away; then, what can the wretched Messenger of Death do to you? ||1||Pause||

ਦੂਖ ਦੀਨ ਨ ਭਉ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥
दूख दीन न भउ बिआपै मिलै सुख बिस्रामु ॥
Ḏūkẖ ḏīn na bẖa▫o bi▫āpai milai sukẖ bisrām.
Pain, poverty and fear shall not afflict you, and you shall find peace and pleasure.

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬਖਾਨੈ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨੁ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੪॥
गुर प्रसादि नानकु बखानै हरि भजनु ततु गिआनु ॥२॥१॥२४॥
Gur parsāḏ Nānak bakẖānai har bẖajan ṯaṯ gi▫ān. ||2||1||24||
By Guru's Grace, Nanak speaks; meditation on the Lord is the essence of spiritual wisdom. ||2||1||24||

ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੇ ਹੋਤ ਦੇਖੇ ਖੇਹ ॥
जिनी नामु विसारिआ से होत देखे खेह ॥
Jinī nām visāri▫ā se hoṯ ḏekẖe kẖeh.
Those who have forgotten the Naam, the Name of the Lord - I have seen them reduced to dust.

ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਤੂਟਤੇ ਏ ਨੇਹ ॥੧॥
पुत्र मित्र बिलास बनिता तूटते ए नेह ॥१॥
Puṯar miṯar bilās baniṯā ṯūtṯe e neh. ||1||
The love of children and friends, and the pleasures of married life are torn apart. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਲੇਹ ॥
मेरे मन नामु नित नित लेह ॥
Mere man nām niṯ niṯ leh.
O my mind, continually, continuously chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਜਲਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੂਖੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਦੇਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जलत नाही अगनि सागर सूखु मनि तनि देह ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jalaṯ nāhī agan sāgar sūkẖ man ṯan ḏeh. ||1|| rahā▫o.
You shall not burn in the ocean of fire, and your mind and body shall be blessed with peace. ||1||Pause||
|
ਬਿਰਖ ਛਾਇਆ ਜੈਸੇ ਬਿਨਸਤ ਪਵਨ ਝੂਲਤ ਮੇਹ ॥
बिरख छाइआ जैसे बिनसत पवन झूलत मेह ॥
Birakẖ cẖẖā▫i▫ā jaise binsaṯ pavan jẖūlaṯ meh.
Like the shade of a tree, these things shall pass away, like the clouds blown away by the wind.

ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਮਿਲੁ ਸਾਧ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੈ ਕਾਮਿ ਆਵਤ ਏਹ ॥੨॥੨॥੨੫॥
हरि भगति द्रिड़ु मिलु साध नानक तेरै कामि आवत एह ॥२॥२॥२५॥
Har bẖagaṯ ḏariṛ mil sāḏẖ Nānak ṯerai kām āvaṯ eh. ||2||2||25||
Meeting with the Holy, devotional worship to the Lord is implanted within; O Nanak, only this shall work for you. ||2||2||25||

ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਖਹ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਤੋ ਨੀਤ ॥
पुरखु पूरन सुखह दाता संगि बसतो नीत ॥
Purakẖ pūran sukẖah ḏāṯā sang basṯo nīṯ.
The perfect, primal Lord is the Giver of peace; He is always with you.
|
ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਉਸਨ ਨ ਸੀਤ ॥੧॥
मरै न आवै न जाइ बिनसै बिआपत उसन न सीत ॥१॥
Marai na āvai na jā▫e binsai bi▫āpaṯ usan na sīṯ. ||1||
He does not die, and he does not come or go in reincarnation. He does not perish, and He is not affected by heat or cold. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
मेरे मन नाम सिउ करि प्रीति ॥
Mere man nām si▫o kar parīṯ.
O my mind, be in love with the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਚੇਤਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਏਹ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
चेति मन महि हरि हरि निधाना एह निरमल रीति ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Cẖeṯ man mėh har har niḏẖānā eh nirmal rīṯ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Within the mind, think of the Lord, Har, Har, the treasure. This is the purest way of life. ||1||Pause||

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਜੋ ਜਪੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੀਧਿ ॥
क्रिपाल दइआल गोपाल गोबिद जो जपै तिसु सीधि ॥
Kirpāl ḏa▫i▫āl gopāl gobiḏ jo japai ṯis sīḏẖ.
Whoever meditates on the merciful compassionate Lord, the Lord of the Universe, is successful.

ਨਵਲ ਨਵਤਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੀਧਿ ॥੨॥੩॥੨੬॥
नवल नवतन चतुर सुंदर मनु नानक तिसु संगि बीधि ॥२॥३॥२६॥
Naval navṯan cẖaṯur sunḏar man Nānak ṯis sang bīḏẖ. ||2||3||26||
He is always new, fresh and young, clever and beautiful; Nanak's mind is pierced through with His Love. ||2||3||26||

ਚਲਤ ਬੈਸਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਗੁਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਚਿਤਾਰਿ ॥
चलत बैसत सोवत जागत गुर मंत्रु रिदै चितारि ॥
Cẖalaṯ baisaṯ sovaṯ jāgaṯ gur manṯar riḏai cẖiṯār.
While walking and sitting, sleeping and waking, contemplate within your heart the GurMantra.

ਚਰਣ ਸਰਣ ਭਜੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
चरण सरण भजु संगि साधू भव सागर उतरहि पारि ॥१॥
Cẖaraṇ saraṇ bẖaj sang sāḏẖū bẖav sāgar uṯrėh pār. ||1||
Run to the Lord's lotus feet, and join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Cross over the terrifying world-ocean, and reach the other side. ||1||
