ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਪਿਆ ॥ सिध समाधि जपिओ लिव लाई साधिक मुनि जपिआ ॥ Siḋʰ samaaḋʰ japi▫o liv laa▫ee saaḋʰik mun japi▫aa. The Siddhas in Samadhi meditate on Him; they are lovingly focused on Him. The seekers and the silent sages meditate on Him as well. ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ मारू महला ४ ॥ Maaroo mėhlaa 4. Maaroo, Fourth Mehl: ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਜਪਿਓ ਤੇ ਭਾਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧॥ सरणि परे जपिओ ते भाए गुरमुखि पारि पइआ ॥१॥ Saraṇ paré japi▫o ṫé bʰaa▫é gurmukʰ paar pa▫i▫aa. ||1|| Those who seek His Sanctuary meditate on Him; they become Gurmukh and swim across. ||1|| ਜਤੀ ਸਤੀ ਸੰਤੋਖੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਦਿਕ ਰਵਿਆ ॥ जती सती संतोखी धिआइआ मुखि इंद्रादिक रविआ ॥ Jaṫee saṫee sanṫokʰee ḋʰi▫aa▫i▫aa mukʰ inḋraaḋik ravi▫aa. The celibates, the true and contented beings meditate on Him; Indra and the other gods chant His Name with their mouths. ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਤਰਿਆ ॥ मेरे मन नामु जपत तरिआ ॥ Méré man naam japaṫ ṫari▫aa. O my mind! Chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and cross over. ਧੰਨਾ ਜਟੁ ਬਾਲਮੀਕੁ ਬਟਵਾਰਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ धंना जटु बालमीकु बटवारा गुरमुखि पारि पइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ḋʰannaa jat baalmeek batvaaraa gurmukʰ paar pa▫i▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Dhanna the farmer, and Balmik the highway robber, became Gurmukh, and crossed over. ||1||Pause|| ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬੇ ਜਪਿਓ ਰਿਖਿ ਬਪੁਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ सुरि नर गण गंधरबे जपिओ रिखि बपुरै हरि गाइआ ॥ Sur nar gaṇ ganḋʰarbé japi▫o rikʰ bapuræ har gaa▫i▫aa. Angels, men, heavenly heralds and celestial singers meditate on Him; even the humble Rishis sing of the Lord. ਸੰਕਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੈ ਦੇਵੀ ਜਪਿਓ ਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਆ ॥ संकरि ब्रहमै देवी जपिओ मुखि हरि हरि नामु जपिआ ॥ Sankar barahmæ ḋévee japi▫o mukʰ har har naam japi▫aa. Shiva, Brahma and the goddess Lakhshmi, meditate, and chant with their mouths the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਨਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੨॥ हरि हरि नामि जिना मनु भीना ते गुरमुखि पारि पइआ ॥२॥ Har har naam jinaa man bʰeenaa ṫé gurmukʰ paar pa▫i▫aa. ||2|| Those whose minds are drenched with the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, as Gurmukh, cross over. ||2|| ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਤਿਆ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ कोटि कोटि तेतीस धिआइओ हरि जपतिआ अंतु न पाइआ ॥ Kot kot ṫéṫees ḋʰi▫aa▫i▫o har japṫi▫aa anṫ na paa▫i▫aa. Millions and millions, three hundred thirty million gods meditate on Him; there is no end to those who meditate on the Lord. ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ बेद पुराण सिम्रिति हरि जपिआ मुखि पंडित हरि गाइआ ॥ Béḋ puraaṇ simriṫ har japi▫aa mukʰ pandiṫ har gaa▫i▫aa. The Vedas, the Puranas and the Smritis meditate on the Lord; the Pandits, the religious scholars, sing the Lord’s Praises as well. ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਾਲੁ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੩॥ नामु रसालु जिना मनि वसिआ ते गुरमुखि पारि पइआ ॥३॥ Naam rasaal jinaa man vasi▫aa ṫé gurmukʰ paar pa▫i▫aa. ||3|| Those whose minds are filled with the Naam, the source of nectar - as Gurmukh, they cross over. ||3|| ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਏ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥ गोबिदु क्रिपा करे थाइ पाए जो हरि प्रभ मनि भाइआ ॥ Gobiḋ kirpaa karé ṫʰaa▫é paa▫é jo har parabʰ man bʰaa▫i▫aa. The Lord of the Universe bestows His Mercy, and those who are pleasing to the Mind of the Lord God, find their place. ਅਨਤ ਤਰੰਗੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਆ ਮੈ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਕਰਿ ਸਕਿਆ ॥ अनत तरंगी नामु जिन जपिआ मै गणत न करि सकिआ ॥ Anaṫ ṫarangee naam jin japi▫aa mæ gaṇaṫ na kar saki▫aa. Those who chant the Naam in endless waves - I cannot even count their number. ਗੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਇਆ ॥੪॥੨॥ गुरि धारि क्रिपा हरि नामु द्रिड़ाइओ जन नानक नामु लइआ ॥४॥२॥ Gur ḋʰaar kirpaa har naam ḋariṛ▫aa▫i▫o jan Naanak naam la▫i▫aa. ||4||2|| The Guru, granting His Grace, implants the Lord’s Name within; servant Nanak chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||2||
