ਹਿੰਦੂ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਆਵੈ ॥ हिंदू कै घरि हिंदू आवै ॥ Hinḏū kai gẖar hinḏū āvai. The Hindu comes to the house of a Hindu. ਮਃ ੧ ॥ मः १ ॥ Mėhlā 1. First Mehl: ਸੂਤੁ ਪਾਇ ਕਰੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ॥ सूतु पाइ करे बुरिआई ॥ Sūṯ pā▫e kare buri▫ā▫ī. He puts on the thread, but does evil deeds. ਨਾਤਾ ਧੋਤਾ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥ नाता धोता थाइ न पाई ॥ Nāṯā ḏẖoṯā thā▫e na pā▫ī. His cleansings and washings will not be approved. ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ मुसलमानु करे वडिआई ॥ Musalmān kare vadi▫ā▫ī. The Muslim glorifies his own faith. ਸੂਤੁ ਜਨੇਊ ਪੜਿ ਗਲਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ सूतु जनेऊ पड़ि गलि पावै ॥ Sūṯ jane▫ū paṛ gal pāvai. He puts the sacred thread around his neck and reads the scriptures. ਵਿਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਪੀਰੈ ਕੋ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥ विणु गुर पीरै को थाइ न पाई ॥ viṇ gur pīrai ko thā▫e na pā▫ī. Without the Guru or a spiritual teacher, no one is accepted. ਰਾਹੁ ਦਸਾਇ ਓਥੈ ਕੋ ਜਾਇ ॥ राहु दसाइ ओथै को जाइ ॥ Rāhu ḏasā▫e othai ko jā▫e. They may be shown the way, but only a few go there. ਕਰਣੀ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਭਿਸਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥ करणी बाझहु भिसति न पाइ ॥ Karṇī bājẖahu bẖisaṯ na pā▫e. Without the karma of good actions, heaven is not attained. ਜੋਗੀ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਦਸਾਈ ॥ जोगी कै घरि जुगति दसाई ॥ Jogī kai gẖar jugaṯ ḏasā▫ī. The Way of Yoga is demonstrated in the Yogi's monastery. ਤਿਤੁ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਕਨਿ ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਪਾਈ ॥ तितु कारणि कनि मुंद्रा पाई ॥ Ŧiṯ kāraṇ kan munḏrā pā▫ī. They wear ear-rings to show the way. ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਪਾਇ ਫਿਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥ मुंद्रा पाइ फिरै संसारि ॥ Munḏrā pā▫e firai sansār. Wearing ear-rings, they wander around the world. ਜਿਥੈ ਕਿਥੈ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ जिथै किथै सिरजणहारु ॥ Jithai kithai sirjaṇhār. The Creator Lord is everywhere. ਜੇਤੇ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਤੇ ਵਾਟਾਊ ॥ जेते जीअ तेते वाटाऊ ॥ Jeṯe jī▫a ṯeṯe vātā▫ū. There are as many travelers as there are beings. ਚੀਰੀ ਆਈ ਢਿਲ ਨ ਕਾਊ ॥ चीरी आई ढिल न काऊ ॥ Cẖīrī ā▫ī dẖil na kā▫ū. When one's death warrant is issued, there is no delay. ਏਥੈ ਜਾਣੈ ਸੁ ਜਾਇ ਸਿਞਾਣੈ ॥ एथै जाणै सु जाइ सिञाणै ॥ Ėthai jāṇai so jā▫e siñāṇai. One who knows the Lord here, realizes Him there as well. ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਦਰਿ ਲੇਖਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ सभना का दरि लेखा होइ ॥ Sabẖnā kā ḏar lekẖā ho▫e. Everyone's account is read in the Court of the Lord; ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ सचो सचु वखाणै कोइ ॥ Sacẖo sacẖ vakẖāṇai ko▫e. One who speaks the True Name of the True Lord, ਕਰਣੀ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਰੈ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ करणी बाझहु तरै न कोइ ॥ Karṇī bājẖahu ṯarai na ko▫e. without the karma of good actions, no one crosses over. ਹੋਰੁ ਫਕੜੁ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਣੈ ॥ होरु फकड़ु हिंदू मुसलमाणै ॥ Hor fakaṛ hinḏū musalmāṇai. Others, whether Hindu or Muslim, are just babbling. ਨਾਨਕ ਅਗੈ ਪੁਛ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥ नानक अगै पुछ न होइ ॥२॥ Nānak agai pucẖẖ na ho▫e. ||2|| O Nanak, is not called to account hereafter. ||2||
