ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਉਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕੀ ਵਰਤਣਿ ॥ राति दिनसु उपाइअनु संसार की वरतणि ॥ Rāṯ ḏinas upā▫i▫an sansār kī varṯaṇ. He created the night and the day, for the activities of the world. ਪਉੜੀ ॥ पउड़ी ॥ Pa▫oṛī. Pauree: ਹੁਕਮੇ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਸਾਜੀਅਨੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਭ ਵਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਣਿ ॥ हुकमे ही सभ साजीअनु रविआ सभ वणि त्रिणि ॥ Hukme hī sabẖ sājī▫an ravi▫ā sabẖ vaṇ ṯariṇ. By the Hukam of His Command, He creates everything; He pervades and permeates all the woods and meadows. ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਆਨੇਰੁ ਬਿਨਾਸਣਿ ॥ गुरमती घटि चानणा आनेरु बिनासणि ॥ Gurmaṯī gẖat cẖānṇā āner bināsaṇ. Following the Guru's Teachings, one's heart is illumined, and the darkness is dispelled. ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਣਿ ॥ सभु किछु आपे आपि है गुरमुखि सदा हरि भणि ॥ Sabẖ kicẖẖ āpe āp hai gurmukẖ saḏā har bẖaṇ. He Himself is everything; the Gurmukh constantly chants the Lord's Name. ਸਬਦੇ ਹੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਈ ਸਚੈ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੫॥ सबदे ही सोझी पई सचै आपि बुझाई ॥५॥ Sabḏe hī sojẖī pa▫ī sacẖai āp bujẖā▫ī. ||5|| Through the Shabad, understanding comes; the True Lord Himself inspires us to understand. ||5||
