Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl: ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਕਾ ਭਇਆ ਬਿਨਾਸ ॥ अह्मबुधि का भइआ बिनास ॥ Ahaⁿ▫buḋʰ kaa bʰa▫i▫aa binaas. Your egotistical intellect shall be dispelled, ਆਗੈ ਜਮ ਸਿਉ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਲ ॥ आगै जम सिउ होइ न मेल ॥ Aagæ jam si▫o ho▫é na mél. and you will not have to meet the Messenger of Death hereafter. ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਹੋਈ ਸਗਲੀ ਨਾਸ ॥੧॥ दुरमति होई सगली नास ॥१॥ Ḋurmaṫ ho▫ee saglee naas. ||1|| and your evil-mindedness will be totally taken away. ||1|| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ॥ राम नाम गुण गाइ पंडित ॥ Raam naam guṇ gaa▫é pandiṫ. Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord’s Name, O Pandit. ਕਰਮ ਕਾਂਡ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਨ ਕਾਜੈ ਕੁਸਲ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ करम कांड अहंकारु न काजै कुसल सेती घरि जाहि पंडित ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Karam kaaⁿd ahaⁿkaar na kaajæ kusal séṫee gʰar jaahi pandiṫ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Religious rituals and egotism are of no use at all. You shall go home with happiness, O Pandit. ||1||Pause|| ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਨਿਧਿ ਲੀਆ ਲਾਭ ॥ हरि का जसु निधि लीआ लाभ ॥ Har kaa jas niḋʰ lee▫aa laabʰ. I have earned the profit, the wealth of the Lord’s praise. ਪੂਰਨ ਭਏ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਾਭ ॥ पूरन भए मनोरथ साभ ॥ Pooran bʰa▫é manoraṫʰ saabʰ. All my hopes have been fulfilled. ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਠਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥ दुखु नाठा सुखु घर महि आइआ ॥ Ḋukʰ naatʰaa sukʰ gʰar mėh aa▫i▫aa. Pain has left me, and peace has come to my home. ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ संत प्रसादि कमलु बिगसाइआ ॥२॥ Sanṫ parsaaḋ kamal bigsaa▫i▫aa. ||2|| By the Grace of the Saints, my heart-lotus blossoms forth. ||2|| ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਦਾਨੁ ॥ नाम रतनु जिनि पाइआ दानु ॥ Naam raṫan jin paa▫i▫aa ḋaan. One who is blessed with the gift of the jewel of the Name, ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਆਇਆ ਮਨਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇ ॥ संतोखु आइआ मनि पूरा पाइ ॥ Sanṫokʰ aa▫i▫aa man pooraa paa▫é. His mind becomes content, finding the Perfect Lord. ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਾਗਨ ਕਾਹੇ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥ फिरि फिरि मागन काहे जाइ ॥३॥ Fir fir maagan kaahé jaa▫é. ||3|| Why should he ever go begging again? ||3|| ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਹੋਏ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥ तिसु जन होए सगल निधान ॥ Ṫis jan ho▫é sagal niḋʰaan. obtains all treasures. ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਤ ਪਵਿਤ ॥ हरि की कथा सुनत पवित ॥ Har kee kaṫʰaa sunaṫ paviṫ. Hearing the Lord’s sermon, he becomes pure and holy. ਜਿਹਵਾ ਬਕਤ ਪਾਈ ਗਤਿ ਮਤਿ ॥ जिहवा बकत पाई गति मति ॥ Jihvaa bakaṫ paa▫ee gaṫ maṫ. Chanting it with his tongue, he finds the way to salvation. ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਾਈ ॥ सो परवाणु जिसु रिदै वसाई ॥ So parvaaṇ jis riḋæ vasaa▫ee. He alone is approved, who enshrines the Lord within his heart. ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਊਤਮ ਭਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੨੮॥ नानक ते जन ऊतम भाई ॥४॥१७॥२८॥ Naanak ṫé jan ooṫam bʰaa▫ee. ||4||17||28|| Nanak: such a humble being is exalted, O Siblings of Destiny. ||4||17||28||
