ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਾਖੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਿੰਙੀ ਬਾਜੈ ਲੋਕੁ ਸੁਣੇ ॥ सुरति सबदु साखी मेरी सिंङी बाजै लोकु सुणे ॥ Suraṯ sabaḏ sākẖī merī sińī bājai lok suṇe. Awareness of the Shabad and the Teachings is my horn; the people hear the sound of its vibrations. ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ रामकली महला १ ॥ Rāmkalī mėhlā 1. Raamkalee, First Mehl: ਪਤੁ ਝੋਲੀ ਮੰਗਣ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ਭੀਖਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੜੇ ॥੧॥ पतु झोली मंगण कै ताई भीखिआ नामु पड़े ॥१॥ Paṯ jẖolī mangaṇ kai ṯā▫ī bẖīkẖi▫ā nām paṛe. ||1|| Honor is my begging-bowl, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the charity I receive. ||1|| ਬਾਬਾ ਗੋਰਖੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥ बाबा गोरखु जागै ॥ Bābā gorakẖ jāgai. O Baba, Gorakh is the Lord of the Universe; He is always awake and aware. ਗੋਰਖੁ ਸੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੋਇ ਉਠਾਲੀ ਕਰਤੇ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ गोरखु सो जिनि गोइ उठाली करते बार न लागै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Gorakẖ so jin go▫e uṯẖālī karṯe bār na lāgai. ||1|| rahā▫o. He alone is Gorakh, who sustains the earth; He created it in an instant. ||1||Pause|| ਪਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਪਵਣਿ ਬੰਧਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਚੰਦੁ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਏ ॥ पाणी प्राण पवणि बंधि राखे चंदु सूरजु मुखि दीए ॥ Pāṇī parāṇ pavaṇ banḏẖ rākẖe cẖanḏ sūraj mukẖ ḏī▫e. Binding together water and air, He infused the breath of life into the body, and made the lamps of the sun and the moon. ਮਰਣ ਜੀਵਣ ਕਉ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਨੀ ਏਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਵਿਸਰੇ ॥੨॥ मरण जीवण कउ धरती दीनी एते गुण विसरे ॥२॥ Maraṇ jīvaṇ ka▫o ḏẖarṯī ḏīnī eṯe guṇ visre. ||2|| To die and to live, He gave us the earth, but we have forgotten these blessings. ||2|| ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਮ ਪੀਰ ਪੁਰਸ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ॥ सिध साधिक अरु जोगी जंगम पीर पुरस बहुतेरे ॥ Siḏẖ sāḏẖik ar jogī jangam pīr puras bahuṯere. There are so many Siddhas, seekers, Yogis, wandering pilgrims, spiritual teachers and good people. ਜੇ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਾ ਤ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਆਖਾ ਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੇ ॥੩॥ जे तिन मिला त कीरति आखा ता मनु सेव करे ॥३॥ Je ṯin milā ṯa kīraṯ ākẖā ṯā man sev kare. ||3|| If I meet them, I chant the Lord's Praises, and then, my mind serves Him. ||3|| ਕਾਗਦੁ ਲੂਣੁ ਰਹੈ ਘ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੰਗੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਕਮਲੁ ਰਹੈ ॥ कागदु लूणु रहै घ्रित संगे पाणी कमलु रहै ॥ Kāgaḏ lūṇ rahai gẖariṯ sange pāṇī kamal rahai. Paper and salt, protected by ghee, remain untouched by water, as the lotus remains unaffected in water. ਐਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੈ ॥੪॥੪॥ ऐसे भगत मिलहि जन नानक तिन जमु किआ करै ॥४॥४॥ Aise bẖagaṯ milėh jan Nānak ṯin jam ki▫ā karai. ||4||4|| Those who meet with such devotees, O servant Nanak - what can death do to them? ||4||4||
