ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਬੇਦ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਸੁਆਇ ॥ पड़ि पड़ि पंडित बेद वखाणहि माइआ मोह सुआइ ॥ Paṛ paṛ pandiṯ beḏ vakāṇėh mā▫i▫ā moh su▫ā▫e. The Pandits, the religious scholars, constantly read and recite the Vedas, for the sake of the love of Maya. ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ सलोक मः ३ ॥ Salok mėhlā 3. Shalok, Third Mehl: ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥ दूजै भाइ हरि नामु विसारिआ मन मूरख मिलै सजाइ ॥ Ḏūjai bẖā▫e har nām visāri▫ā man mūrakẖ milai sajā▫e. In the love of duality, the foolish people have forgotten the Lord's Name; they shall receive their punishment. ਜਿਨਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦਿਤਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਚੇਤੈ ਜੋ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹਿ ॥ जिनि जीउ पिंडु दिता तिसु कबहूं न चेतै जो देंदा रिजकु स्मबाहि ॥ Jin jī▫o pind ḏiṯā ṯis kabahūʼn na cẖeṯai jo ḏeʼnḏā rijak sambāhi. They never think of the One who gave them body and soul, who provides sustenance to all. ਜਮ ਕਾ ਫਾਹਾ ਗਲਹੁ ਨ ਕਟੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ जम का फाहा गलहु न कटीऐ फिरि फिरि आवै जाइ ॥ Jam kā fāhā galhu na katī▫ai fir fir āvai jā▫e. The noose of death shall not be cut away from their necks; they shall come and go in reincarnation over and over again. ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ मनमुखि किछू न सूझै अंधुले पूरबि लिखिआ कमाइ ॥ Manmukẖ kicẖẖū na sūjẖai anḏẖule pūrab likẖi▫ā kamā▫e. The blind, self-willed manmukhs do not understand anything. They do what they are pre-ordained to do. ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ पूरै भागि सतिगुरु मिलै सुखदाता नामु वसै मनि आइ ॥ Pūrai bẖāg saṯgur milai sukẖ▫ḏāṯa nām vasai man ā▫e. Through perfect destiny, they meet the True Guru, the Giver of peace, and the Naam comes to abide in the mind. ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪੈਨਣਾ ਸੁਖੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥ सुखु माणहि सुखु पैनणा सुखे सुखि विहाइ ॥ Sukẖ māṇėh sukẖ painṇā sukẖe sukẖ vihā▫e. They enjoy peace, they wear peace, and they pass their lives in the peace of peace. ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਨਾਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਜਿਤੁ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ नानक सो नाउ मनहु न विसारीऐ जितु दरि सचै सोभा पाइ ॥१॥ Nānak so nā▫o manhu na visārī▫ai jiṯ ḏar sacẖai sobẖā pā▫e. ||1|| O Nanak, they do not forget the Naam from the mind; they are honored in the Court of the Lord. ||1||
