ਗਲੀ ਅਸੀ ਚੰਗੀਆ ਆਚਾਰੀ ਬੁਰੀਆਹ ॥ गलीं असी चंगीआ आचारी बुरीआह ॥ Galīʼn asī cẖangī▫ā ācẖārī burī▫āh. We are good at talking, but our actions are bad. ਮਃ ੧ ॥ मः १ ॥ Mėhlā 1. First Mehl: ਰੀਸਾ ਕਰਿਹ ਤਿਨਾੜੀਆ ਜੋ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਦਰੁ ਖੜੀਆਹ ॥ रीसा करिह तिनाड़ीआ जो सेवहि दरु खड़ीआह ॥ Rīsā karih ṯināṛī▫ā jo sevėh ḏar kẖaṛī▫āh. We imitate those who stand and serve at the Lord's Door. ਮਨਹੁ ਕੁਸੁਧਾ ਕਾਲੀਆ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਚਿਟਵੀਆਹ ॥ मनहु कुसुधा कालीआ बाहरि चिटवीआह ॥ Manhu kusuḏẖā kālī▫ā bāhar cẖitvī▫āh. Mentally, we are impure and black, but outwardly, we appear white. ਹੋਦੈ ਤਾਣਿ ਨਿਤਾਣੀਆ ਰਹਹਿ ਨਿਮਾਨਣੀਆਹ ॥ होदै ताणि निताणीआ रहहि निमानणीआह ॥ Hoḏai ṯāṇ niṯāṇī▫ā rahėh nimānṇī▫āh. They remain powerless, even while they have power; they remain humble and meek. ਨਾਲਿ ਖਸਮੈ ਰਤੀਆ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਰਲੀਆਹ ॥ नालि खसमै रतीआ माणहि सुखि रलीआह ॥ Nāl kẖasmai raṯī▫ā māṇėh sukẖ ralī▫āh. They are attuned to the Love of their Husband Lord, and they experience the pleasure of His Love. ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਕਾਰਥਾ ਜੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਹ ॥੨॥ नानक जनमु सकारथा जे तिन कै संगि मिलाह ॥२॥ Nānak janam sakārthā je ṯin kai sang milāh. ||2|| O Nanak, our lives become profitable if we associate with them. ||2||
