ਛੰਤ ॥ छंत ॥ Chʰanṫ. Chhant: ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਬ ਹੋਵੈ ਭਾਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ सुख सागर प्रभु पाईऐ जब होवै भागो राम ॥ Sukʰ saagar parabʰ paa▫ee▫æ jab hovæ bʰaago raam. One finds God, the Ocean of Peace, when destiny is activated. ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਚਾਤੁਰੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਤਿਆਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ छोडि सिआनप चातुरी दुरमति बुधि तिआगो राम ॥ Chʰod si▫aanap chaaṫuree ḋurmaṫ buḋʰ ṫi▫aago raam. Renounce cleverness and trickery, and forsake your evil-minded intellect. ਮਾਨਨਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਵਞਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ माननि मानु वञाईऐ हरि चरणी लागो राम ॥ Maanan maan vañaa▫ee▫æ har charṇee laago raam. Abandoning the distinctions of honor and dishonor, grasp the Feet of the Lord. ਨਾਨਕ ਪਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਥਿਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਹਾਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥ नानक पउ सरणाई राम राइ थिरु होइ सुहागो राम ॥१॥ Naanak pa▫o sarṇaa▫ee raam raa▫é ṫʰir ho▫é suhaago raam. ||1|| O Nanak! Seek the Sanctuary of the Sovereign Lord, Your King, and your marriage will be permanent and stable. ||1|| ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਜਿ ਕਤ ਲਾਗੀਐ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥ सो प्रभु तजि कत लागीऐ जिसु बिनु मरि जाईऐ राम ॥ So parabʰ ṫaj kaṫ laagee▫æ jis bin mar jaa▫ee▫æ raam. Why forsake God, and attach yourself to another? Without the Lord, you cannot even live. ਲਾਜ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਮਤੀ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਬਿਰਮਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥ लाज न आवै अगिआन मती दुरजन बिरमाईऐ राम ॥ Laaj na aavæ agi▫aan maṫee ḋurjan birmaa▫ee▫æ raam. The ignorant fool does not feel any shame; the evil man wanders around deluded. ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕਰੇ ਕਹੁ ਕਤ ਠਹਰਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥ पतित पावन प्रभु तिआगि करे कहु कत ठहराईऐ राम ॥ Paṫiṫ paavan parabʰ ṫi▫aag karé kaho kaṫ tʰėhraa▫ee▫æ raam. God is the Purifier of sinners. If one forsakes God, tell me, where can he find a place of rest? ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਕੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥ नानक भगति भाउ करि दइआल की जीवन पदु पाईऐ राम ॥२॥ Naanak bʰagaṫ bʰaa▫o kar ḋa▫i▫aal kee jeevan paḋ paa▫ee▫æ raam. ||2|| O Nanak! By loving devotional worship of the Merciful Lord, he attains the state of eternal life. ||2|| ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੋਪਾਲੁ ਨ ਉਚਰਹਿ ਬਲਿ ਗਈਏ ਦੁਹਚਾਰਣਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ स्री गोपालु न उचरहि बलि गईए दुहचारणि रसना राम ॥ Saree gopaal na uchrahi bal ga▫ee▫é ḋuhchaaraṇ rasnaa raam. May that vicious tongue that does not chant the Name of the Great Lord of the World, be burnt. ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਨਹ ਸੇਵਹੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਕਾਕ ਗ੍ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ प्रभु भगति वछलु नह सेवही काइआ काक ग्रसना राम ॥ Parabʰ bʰagaṫ vachʰal nah sévhee kaa▫i▫aa kaak garsanaa raam. One who does not serve God, the Lover of His devotees, shall have his body eaten by crows. ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਮੋਹੀ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੀ ਕੋਟਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਬਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ भ्रमि मोही दूख न जाणही कोटि जोनी बसना राम ॥ Bʰaram mohee ḋookʰ na jaaṇhee kot jonee basnaa raam. Enticed by doubt, he does not understand the pain it brings; he wanders through millions of incarnations. ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਜਿ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਮ ਭਸਮਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥ नानक बिनु हरि अवरु जि चाहना बिसटा क्रिम भसमा राम ॥३॥ Naanak bin har avar jė chaahnaa bistaa kiram bʰasmaa raam. ||3|| O Nanak! If you desire anything other than the Lord, you shall be consumed, like a maggot in manure. ||3|| ਲਾਇ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸੰਗੇ ਹੋਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ ਰਾਮ ॥ लाइ बिरहु भगवंत संगे होइ मिलु बैरागनि राम ॥ Laa▫é birahu bʰagvanṫ sangé ho▫é mil bæraagan raam. Embrace love for the Lord God, and in detachment, unite with Him. ਚੰਦਨ ਚੀਰ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਰਸਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਤਿਆਗਨਿ ਰਾਮ ॥ चंदन चीर सुगंध रसा हउमै बिखु तिआगनि राम ॥ Chanḋan cheer suganḋʰ rasaa ha▫umæ bikʰ ṫi▫aagan raam. Give up your sandalwood oil, expensive clothes, perfumes, tasty flavors and the poison of egotism. ਈਤ ਊਤ ਨਹ ਡੋਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਾਗਨਿ ਰਾਮ ॥ ईत ऊत नह डोलीऐ हरि सेवा जागनि राम ॥ Eeṫ ooṫ nah dolee▫æ har sévaa jaagan raam. Do not waver this way or that, but remain wakeful in the service of the Lord. ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾ ਅਟਲ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥ नानक जिनि प्रभु पाइआ आपणा सा अटल सुहागनि राम ॥४॥१॥४॥ Naanak jin parabʰ paa▫i▫aa aapṇaa saa atal suhaagan raam. ||4||1||4|| O Nanak! She who has obtained her God, is a happy soul-bride forever. ||4||1||4|| ਗੁਨ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਸਦ ਗਾਈਅਹਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ गुन गोविद सद गाईअहि पारब्रहम कै रंगे राम ॥ Gun goviḋ saḋ gaa▫ee▫ah paarbarahm kæ rangé raam. Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe forever, imbued with the Love of the Supreme Lord God. ਹਰਿ ਖੋਜਹੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਹੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ हरि खोजहु वडभागीहो मिलि साधू संगे राम ॥ Har kʰojahu vadbʰaageeho mil saaḋʰoo sangé raam. Seek the Lord, O fortunate ones, and join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
