ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ਘਰੁ ੧੦ बिलावलु महला ३ असटपदी घरु १० Bilāval mėhlā 3 asatpaḏī gẖar 10 Bilaaval, Third Mehl, Ashtapadees, Tenth House: ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ अंतरि लोभु झूठु अभिमानु ॥ Anṯar lobẖ jẖūṯẖ abẖimān. But deep within there is greed, falsehood and pride. ਜਗੁ ਕਊਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਚੁੰਚ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ जगु कऊआ मुखि चुंच गिआनु ॥ Jag ka▫ū▫ā mukẖ cẖuncẖ gi▫ān. The world is like a crow; with its beak, it croaks spiritual wisdom. ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਪਾਜੁ ਲਹਗੁ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥੧॥ बिनु नावै पाजु लहगु निदानि ॥१॥ Bin nāvai pāj lahag niḏān. ||1|| Without the Name of the Lord, your thin outer covering shall wear off, you fool. ||1|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਚੀਤਿ ॥ सतिगुर सेवि नामु वसै मनि चीति ॥ Saṯgur sev nām vasai man cẖīṯ. Serving the True Guru, the Naam shall dwell in your conscious mind. ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੇਤਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਹੋਰ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ गुरु भेटे हरि नामु चेतावै बिनु नावै होर झूठु परीति ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Gur bẖete har nām cẖeṯāvai bin nāvai hor jẖūṯẖ parīṯ. ||1|| rahā▫o. Meeting with the Guru, the Name of the Lord comes to mind. Without the Name, other loves are false. ||1||Pause|| ਗੁਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਸਾ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਹੁ ॥ गुरि कहिआ सा कार कमावहु ॥ Gur kahi▫ā sā kār kamāvahu. So do that work, which the Guru tells you to do. ਸਬਦੁ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਸਹਜ ਘਰਿ ਆਵਹੁ ॥ सबदु चीन्हि सहज घरि आवहु ॥ Sabaḏ cẖīnėh sahj gẖar āvhu. Contemplating the Word of the Shabad, you shall come to the home of celestial bliss. ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਵਡਾਈ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥ साचै नाइ वडाई पावहु ॥२॥ Sācẖai nā▫e vadā▫ī pāvhu. ||2|| Through the True Name, you shall obtain glorious greatness. ||2|| ਦਰੁ ਘਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਠਉਰੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ दरु घरु महलु ठउरु कैसे पावै ॥३॥ Ḏar gẖar mahal ṯẖa▫ur kaise pāvai. ||3|| How can he ever find a home and a place of rest, in the Mansion of the Lord's Presence? ||3|| ਮਨ ਕਾ ਅੰਧਾ ਅੰਧੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ मन का अंधा अंधु कमावै ॥ Man kā anḏẖā anḏẖ kamāvai. is mentally blind, and acts in blindness. ਆਪਿ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਲੋਕ ਬੁਝਾਵੈ ॥ आपि न बूझै लोक बुझावै ॥ Āp na būjẖai lok bujẖāvai. One who does not understand his own self, but still tries to instruct others, ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ हरि जीउ सेवीऐ अंतरजामी ॥ Har jī▫o sevī▫ai anṯarjāmī. Serve the Dear Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥ घट घट अंतरि जिस की जोति समानी ॥ Gẖat gẖat anṯar jis kī joṯ samānī. deep within each and every heart, His Light is shining forth. ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਕਿਆ ਚਲੈ ਪਹਨਾਮੀ ॥੪॥ तिसु नालि किआ चलै पहनामी ॥४॥ Ŧis nāl ki▫ā cẖalai pėhnāmī. ||4|| How can anyone hide anything from Him? ||4|| ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ साचा नामु साचै सबदि जानै ॥ Sācẖā nām sācẖai sabaḏ jānai. The True Name is known through the True Word of the Shabad. ਆਪੈ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੈ ॥ आपै आपु मिलै चूकै अभिमानै ॥ Āpai āp milai cẖūkai abẖimānai. The Lord Himself meets that one who eradicates egotistical pride. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਖਾਨੈ ॥੫॥ गुरमुखि नामु सदा सदा वखानै ॥५॥ Gurmukẖ nām saḏā saḏā vakẖānai. ||5|| The Gurmukh chants the Naam, forever and ever. ||5|| ਕੰਚਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੬॥ कंचन काइआ जोती जोति समाई ॥६॥ Kancẖan kā▫i▫ā joṯī joṯ samā▫ī. ||6|| One's body sparkles like gold, and one's light merges into the Light. ||6|| ਅਉਗਣ ਕਾਟਿ ਪਾਪਾ ਮਤਿ ਖਾਈ ॥ अउगण काटि पापा मति खाई ॥ A▫ugaṇ kāt pāpā maṯ kẖā▫ī. Guilty mistakes are erased, and the sinful intellect is cleansed. ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਦੂਜੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ सतिगुरि सेविऐ दूजी दुरमति जाई ॥ Saṯgur sevi▫ai ḏūjī ḏurmaṯ jā▫ī. Serving the True Guru, duality and evil-mindedness are taken away. ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ सतिगुरि मिलिऐ वडी वडिआई ॥ Saṯgur mili▫ai vadī vadi▫ā▫ī. Meeting with the True Guru, one is blessed with glorious greatness. ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਾਈ ॥ दुखु काटै हिरदै नामु वसाई ॥ Ḏukẖ kātai hirḏai nām vasā▫ī. Pain is taken away, and the Naam comes to dwell within the heart. ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੭॥ नामि रते सदा सुखु पाई ॥७॥ Nām raṯe saḏā sukẖ pā▫ī. ||7|| Imbued with the Naam, one finds eternal peace. ||7|| ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੁ ॥ गुरमति मानिआ करणी सारु ॥ Gurmaṯ māni▫ā karṇī sār. Obeying the Gur's instructions, one's actions are purified. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥ गुरमति मानिआ मोख दुआरु ॥ Gurmaṯ māni▫ā mokẖ ḏu▫ār. Obeying the Guru's Instructions, one finds the state of salvation. ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਪਰਵਾਰੈ ਸਾਧਾਰੁ ॥੮॥੧॥੩॥ नानक गुरमति मानिआ परवारै साधारु ॥८॥१॥३॥ Nānak gurmaṯ māni▫ā parvārai sāḏẖār. ||8||1||3|| O Nanak, those who follow the Guru's Teachings are saved, along with their families. ||8||1||3||
