ਸਉ ਓਲਾਮ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਦਿਨੈ ਕੇ ਰਾਤੀ ਮਿਲਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਸਹੰਸ ॥ सउ ओलाम्हे दिनै के राती मिलन्हि सहंस ॥ Sa▫o olāmĥe ḏinai ke rāṯī milniĥ sahaʼns. He receives hundreds and thousands of reprimands, day and night; ਮਃ ੧ ॥ मः १ ॥ Mėhlā 1. First Mehl: ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਲਾਹਣੁ ਛਡਿ ਕੈ ਕਰੰਗੀ ਲਗਾ ਹੰਸੁ ॥ सिफति सलाहणु छडि कै करंगी लगा हंसु ॥ Sifaṯ salāhaṇ cẖẖad kai karangī lagā hans. the swan-soul has renounced the Lord's Praises, and attached itself to a rotting carcass. ਫਿਟੁ ਇਵੇਹਾ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਿਤੁ ਖਾਇ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਪੇਟੁ ॥ फिटु इवेहा जीविआ जितु खाइ वधाइआ पेटु ॥ Fit ivehā jīvi▫ā jiṯ kẖā▫e vaḏẖā▫i▫ā pet. Cursed is that life, in which one only eats to fill his belly. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਣੁ ਸਭੋ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਹੇਤੁ ॥੨॥ नानक सचे नाम विणु सभो दुसमनु हेतु ॥२॥ Nānak sacẖe nām viṇ sabẖo ḏusman heṯ. ||2|| O Nanak, without the True Name, all one's friends turn to enemies. ||2||
