ਆਪੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਚਲਾਇਦਾ ਜਗੁ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ आपे हुकमु चलाइदा जगु धंधै लाइआ ॥ Āpe hukam cẖalā▫iḏā jag ḏẖanḏẖai lā▫i▫ā. He Himself issues His Commands, and links the people of the world to their tasks. ਪਉੜੀ ॥ पउड़ी ॥ Pa▫oṛī. Pauree: ਇਕਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ इकि आपे ही आपि लाइअनु गुर ते सुखु पाइआ ॥ Ik āpe hī āp lā▫i▫an gur ṯe sukẖ pā▫i▫ā. He Himself joins some to Himself, and through the Guru, they find peace. ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਾਵਦਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਇਆ ॥ दह दिस इहु मनु धावदा गुरि ठाकि रहाइआ ॥ Ḏah ḏis ih man ḏẖāvḏā gur ṯẖāk rahā▫i▫ā. The mind runs around in the ten directions; the Guru holds it still. ਨਾਵੈ ਨੋ ਸਭ ਲੋਚਦੀ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ नावै नो सभ लोचदी गुरमती पाइआ ॥ Nāvai no sabẖ locẖḏī gurmaṯī pā▫i▫ā. Everyone longs for the Name, but it is only found through the Guru's Teachings. ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਮੇਟਿ ਨ ਸਕੀਐ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧੨॥ धुरि लिखिआ मेटि न सकीऐ जो हरि लिखि पाइआ ॥१२॥ Ḏẖur likẖi▫ā met na sakī▫ai jo har likẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||12|| Your pre-ordained destiny, written by the Lord in the very beginning, cannot be erased. ||12||
