ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥ मनहु न नामु विसारि अहिनिसि धिआईऐ ॥ Manhu na nām visār ahinis ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai. Never forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, from your mind; night and day, meditate on it. ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ सूही महला १ ॥ Sūhī mėhlā 1. Soohee, First Mehl: ਜਿਉ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਤਿਵੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ जिउ राखहि किरपा धारि तिवै सुखु पाईऐ ॥१॥ Ji▫o rākẖahi kirpā ḏẖār ṯivai sukẖ pā▫ī▫ai. ||1|| As You keep me, in Your Merciful Grace, so do I find peace. ||1|| ਮੈ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਕੁਟੀ ਟੋਹਣੀ ॥ मै अंधुले हरि नामु लकुटी टोहणी ॥ Mai anḏẖule har nām lakutī tohṇī. I am blind, and the Lord's Name is my cane. ਰਹਉ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਨ ਮੋਹੈ ਮੋਹਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ रहउ साहिब की टेक न मोहै मोहणी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Raha▫o sāhib kī tek na mohai mohṇī. ||1|| rahā▫o. I remain under the Sheltering Support of my Lord and Master; I am not enticed by Maya the enticer. ||1||Pause|| ਜਹ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੇਖਾਲਿਆ ॥ जह देखउ तह नालि गुरि देखालिआ ॥ Jah ḏekẖ▫a▫u ṯah nāl gur ḏekẖāli▫ā. Wherever I look, there the Guru has shown me that God is always with me. ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਭਾਲਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਆ ॥੨॥ अंतरि बाहरि भालि सबदि निहालिआ ॥२॥ Anṯar bāhar bẖāl sabaḏ nihāli▫ā. ||2|| Searching inwardly and outwardly as well, I came to see Him, through the Word of the Shabad. ||2|| ਸੇਵੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਾ ॥ सेवी सतिगुर भाइ नामु निरंजना ॥ Sevī saṯgur bẖā▫e nām niranjanā. So serve the True Guru with love, through the Immaculate Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਰਜਾਇ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨਾ ॥੩॥ तुधु भावै तिवै रजाइ भरमु भउ भंजना ॥३॥ Ŧuḏẖ bẖāvai ṯivai rajā▫e bẖaram bẖa▫o bẖanjnā. ||3|| As it pleases You, so by Your Will, You destroy my doubts and fears. ||3|| ਜਨਮਤ ਹੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਮਰਣਾ ਆਇ ਕੈ ॥ जनमत ही दुखु लागै मरणा आइ कै ॥ Janmaṯ hī ḏukẖ lāgai marṇā ā▫e kai. At the very moment of birth, he is afflicted with pain, and in the end, he comes only to die. ਜਨਮੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੪॥ जनमु मरणु परवाणु हरि गुण गाइ कै ॥४॥ Janam maraṇ parvāṇ har guṇ gā▫e kai. ||4|| Birth and death are validated and approved, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4|| ਹਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੂ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤੁਧ ਹੀ ਸਾਜਿਆ ॥ हउ नाही तू होवहि तुध ही साजिआ ॥ Ha▫o nāhī ṯū hovėh ṯuḏẖ hī sāji▫ā. When there is no ego, there You are; You fashioned all of this. ਦੇਹੀ ਭਸਮ ਰੁਲਾਇ ਨ ਜਾਪੀ ਕਹ ਗਇਆ ॥ देही भसम रुलाइ न जापी कह गइआ ॥ Ḏehī bẖasam rulā▫e na jāpī kah ga▫i▫ā. When the body rolls in the dust, it is not known where the soul has gone. ਆਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ॥੫॥ आपे थापि उथापि सबदि निवाजिआ ॥५॥ Āpe thāp uthāp sabaḏ nivāji▫ā. ||5|| You Yourself establish and disestablish; through the Word of Your Shabad, You elevate and exalt. ||5|| ਆਪੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ਸੋ ਵਿਸਮਾਦੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੬॥ आपे रहिआ समाइ सो विसमादु भइआ ॥६॥ Āpe rahi▫ā samā▫e so vismāḏ bẖa▫i▫ā. ||6|| He Himself is permeating and pervading; this is wonderful and amazing! ||6|| ਤੂੰ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੂਰਿ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਭ ਤੂ ਹੈ ॥ तूं नाही प्रभ दूरि जाणहि सभ तू है ॥ Ŧūʼn nāhī parabẖ ḏūr jāṇėh sabẖ ṯū hai. You are not far away, God; You know everything. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭੀ ਤੂ ਹੈ ॥੭॥ गुरमुखि वेखि हदूरि अंतरि भी तू है ॥७॥ Gurmukẖ vekẖ haḏūr anṯar bẖī ṯū hai. ||7|| The Gurmukh sees You ever-present; You are deep within the nucleus of our inner self. ||7|| ਮੈ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ मै दीजै नाम निवासु अंतरि सांति होइ ॥ Mai ḏījai nām nivās anṯar sāʼnṯ ho▫e. Please, bless me with a home in Your Name; may my inner self be at peace. ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਇ ॥੮॥੩॥੫॥ गुण गावै नानक दासु सतिगुरु मति देइ ॥८॥३॥५॥ Guṇ gāvai Nānak ḏās saṯgur maṯ ḏe▫e. ||8||3||5|| May slave Nanak sing Your Glorious Praises; O True Guru, please share the Teachings with me. ||8||3||5||
