ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ सूही महला ५ ॥ Sūhī mėhlā 5. Soohee, Fifth Mehl: ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵਾ ॥ रहणु न पावहि सुरि नर देवा ॥ Rahaṇ na pāvahi sur nar ḏevā. The angelic beings and demi-gods are not permitted to remain here. ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੧॥ ऊठि सिधारे करि मुनि जन सेवा ॥१॥ Ūṯẖ siḏẖāre kar mun jan sevā. ||1|| The silent sages and humble servants also must arise and depart. ||1|| ਜੀਵਤ ਪੇਖੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ जीवत पेखे जिन्ही हरि हरि धिआइआ ॥ Jīvaṯ pekẖe jinĥī har har ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā. Only those who meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, are seen to live on. ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ साधसंगि तिन्ही दरसनु पाइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Sāḏẖsang ṯinĥī ḏarsan pā▫i▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o. In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, they obtain the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||1||Pause|| ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹ ਸਾਹ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਮਰਨਾ ॥ बादिसाह साह वापारी मरना ॥ Bāḏisāh sāh vāpārī marnā. Kings, emperors and merchants must die. ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਕਾਲਹਿ ਖਰਨਾ ॥੨॥ जो दीसै सो कालहि खरना ॥२॥ Jo ḏīsai so kālėh kẖarnā. ||2|| Whoever is seen shall be consumed by death. ||2|| ਕੂੜੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਲਪਟਿ ਲਪਟਾਨਾ ॥ कूड़ै मोहि लपटि लपटाना ॥ Kūrhai mohi lapat laptānā. Mortal beings are entangled, clinging to false worldly attachments. ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨਾ ॥੩॥ छोडि चलिआ ता फिरि पछुताना ॥३॥ Cẖẖod cẖali▫ā ṯā fir pacẖẖuṯānā. ||3|| And when they must leave them behind, then they regret and grieve. ||3|| ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਾਤਿ ॥ क्रिपा निधान नानक कउ करहु दाति ॥ Kirpā niḏẖān Nānak ka▫o karahu ḏāṯ. O Lord, O treasure of mercy, please bless Nanak with this gift, ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਪੀ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੪॥ नामु तेरा जपी दिनु राति ॥४॥८॥१४॥ Nām ṯerā japī ḏin rāṯ. ||4||8||14|| that he may chant Your Name, day and night. ||4||8||14||
