Todee, Fifth Mehl: ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਕੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਮੇਘ ਕੀ ਛਾਇਆ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਭਜਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੜ ਕਾ ਜਲੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ त्रिण की अगनि मेघ की छाइआ गोबिद भजन बिनु हड़ का जलु ॥ रहाउ ॥ Ŧariṇ kī agan megẖ kī cẖẖā▫i▫ā gobiḏ bẖajan bin haṛ kā jal. Rahā▫o. Without meditating on the Lord of the Universe, it is like straw on fire, or the shadow of a cloud, or the running of the flood-waters. ||Pause|| ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਬਹੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਸਾਧ ਮਗਿ ਚਲੁ ॥ छोडि सिआनप बहु चतुराई दुइ कर जोड़ि साध मगि चलु ॥ Cẖẖod si▫ānap baho cẖaṯurā▫ī ḏu▫e kar joṛ sāḏẖ mag cẖal. Renounce your cleverness and all your mental tricks; with your palms pressed together, walk on the Path of the Holy Saints. ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਦੇਹ ਕਾ ਇਹੁ ਊਤਮ ਫਲੁ ॥੧॥ सिमरि सुआमी अंतरजामी मानुख देह का इहु ऊतम फलु ॥१॥ Simar su▫āmī anṯarjāmī mānukẖ ḏeh kā ih ūṯam fal. ||1|| Remember the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; this is the most sublime reward of this human incarnation. ||1|| ਬੇਦ ਬਖਿਆਨ ਕਰਤ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਸਮਝਤ ਨਹੀ ਖਲੁ ॥ बेद बखिआन करत साधू जन भागहीन समझत नही खलु ॥ Beḏ bakẖi▫ān karaṯ sāḏẖū jan bẖāghīn samjẖaṯ nahī kẖal. The Holy Saints preach the teachings of the Vedas, but the unfortunate fools do not understand them. ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਾਚੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦਹਨ ਭਏ ਮਲ ॥੨॥੭॥੨੬॥ प्रेम भगति राचे जन नानक हरि सिमरनि दहन भए मल ॥२॥७॥२६॥ Parem bẖagaṯ rācẖe jan Nānak har simran ḏahan bẖa▫e mal. ||2||7||26|| Servant Nanak is absorbed in loving devotional worship; meditating in remembrance on the Lord, one's dirt is burnt away. ||2||7||26||
