ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਭਏ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਸਰੀਰ ॥ सतिगुरि सेविऐ मनु निरमला भए पवितु सरीर ॥ Saṫgur sévi▫æ man nirmalaa bʰa▫é paviṫ sareer. Serving the True Guru, the mind becomes immaculate, and the body becomes pure. ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ सिरीरागु महला ३ ॥ Sireeraag mėhlaa 3. Siree Raag, Third Mehl: ਸਚੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਬੈਸਣਾ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਨੁ ਧੀਰ ॥੧॥ सची संगति बैसणा सचि नामि मनु धीर ॥१॥ Sachee sangaṫ bæsṇaa sach naam man ḋʰeer. ||1|| Sitting in the Sangat, the True Congregation, the mind is comforted and consoled by the True Name. ||1|| ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੁ ॥ मनि आनंदु सदा सुखु पाइआ भेटिआ गहिर ग्मभीरु ॥ Man aananḋ saḋaa sukʰ paa▫i▫aa bʰéti▫aa gahir gambʰeer. The mind obtains bliss and eternal peace, meeting with the Deep and Profound Lord. ਮਨ ਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਨਿਸੰਗੁ ॥ मन रे सतिगुरु सेवि निसंगु ॥ Man ré saṫgur sév nisang. O mind, serve the True Guru without hesitation. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਮੈਲੁ ਪਤੰਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ सतिगुरु सेविऐ हरि मनि वसै लगै न मैलु पतंगु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Saṫgur sévi▫æ har man vasæ lagæ na mæl paṫang. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Serving the True Guru, the Lord abides within the mind, and no trace of filth shall attach itself to you. ||1||Pause|| ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਤਿ ਊਪਜੈ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ सचै सबदि पति ऊपजै सचे सचा नाउ ॥ Sachæ sabaḋ paṫ oopjæ saché sachaa naa▫o. From the True Word of the Shabad comes honor. True is the Name of the True One. ਜਿਨੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥ जिनी हउमै मारि पछाणिआ हउ तिन बलिहारै जाउ ॥ Jinee ha▫umæ maar pachʰaaṇi▫aa ha▫o ṫin balihaaræ jaa▫o. I am a sacrifice to those who conquer their ego and recognize the Lord. ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸਚੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਨੀ ਤਿਨ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਥਾਉ ॥੨॥ मनमुख सचु न जाणनी तिन ठउर न कतहू थाउ ॥२॥ Manmukʰ sach na jaaṇnee ṫin tʰa▫ur na kaṫhoo ṫʰaa▫o. ||2|| The self-willed Manmukhs do not know the True One; they find no shelter, and no place of rest anywhere. ||2|| ਸਚੁ ਖਾਣਾ ਸਚੁ ਪੈਨਣਾ ਸਚੇ ਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਾਸੁ ॥ सचु खाणा सचु पैनणा सचे ही विचि वासु ॥ Sach kʰaaṇaa sach pænṇaa saché hee vich vaas. Those who take the Truth as their food and the Truth as their clothing, have their home in the True One. ਸਦਾ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਲਾਹਣਾ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥ सदा सचा सालाहणा सचै सबदि निवासु ॥ Saḋaa sachaa salaahṇaa sachæ sabaḋ nivaas. They constantly praise the True One, and in the True Word of the Shabad they have their dwelling. ਸਭੁ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸੁ ॥੩॥ सभु आतम रामु पछाणिआ गुरमती निज घरि वासु ॥३॥ Sabʰ aaṫam raam pachʰaaṇi▫aa gurmaṫee nij gʰar vaas. ||3|| They recognize the Lord, the Supreme Soul in all, and through the Guru’s Teachings they dwell in the home of their own inner self. ||3|| ਸਚੁ ਵੇਖਣੁ ਸਚੁ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਚਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ सचु वेखणु सचु बोलणा तनु मनु सचा होइ ॥ Sach vékʰaṇ sach bolṇaa ṫan man sachaa ho▫é. They see the Truth, and they speak the Truth; their bodies and minds are True. ਸਚੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਸਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥ सची साखी उपदेसु सचु सचे सची सोइ ॥ Sachee saakʰee upḋés sach saché sachee so▫é. True are their teachings, and True are their instructions; True are the reputations of the true ones. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਓ ਸੇ ਕਿਤੁ ਆਏ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥ सतिगुरु जिनी न सेविओ से कितु आए संसारि ॥ Saṫgur jinee na sévi▫o sé kiṫ aa▫é sansaar. Those who have not served the True Guru-why did they even bother to come into the world? ਜਿੰਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੇ ਦੁਖੀਏ ਚਲੇ ਰੋਇ ॥੪॥ जिंनी सचु विसारिआ से दुखीए चले रोइ ॥४॥ Jinnee sach visaari▫aa sé ḋukʰee▫é chalé ro▫é. ||4|| Those who have forgotten the True One are miserable-they depart weeping and wailing. ||4|| ਜਮ ਦਰਿ ਬਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਕੂਕ ਨ ਸੁਣੈ ਪੂਕਾਰ ॥ जम दरि बधे मारीअहि कूक न सुणै पूकार ॥ Jam ḋar baḋʰé maaree▫ah kook na suṇæ pookaar. They are bound and gagged and beaten at Death’s door, but no one hears their shrieks and cries. ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥੫॥ बिरथा जनमु गवाइआ मरि जंमहि वारो वार ॥५॥ Birṫʰaa janam gavaa▫i▫aa mar jamėh vaaro vaar. ||5|| They waste their lives uselessly; they die and are reincarnated over and over again. ||5|| ਏਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਜਲਤਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਭਜਿ ਪਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾ ॥ एहु जगु जलता देखि कै भजि पए सतिगुर सरणा ॥ Éhu jag jalṫaa ḋékʰ kæ bʰaj pa▫é saṫgur sarṇaa. Seeing this world on fire, I rushed to the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਦਿੜਾਇਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਚਿ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਰਹਣਾ ॥ सतिगुरि सचु दिड़ाइआ सदा सचि संजमि रहणा ॥ Saṫgur sach ḋiṛaa▫i▫aa saḋaa sach sanjam rahṇaa. The True Guru has implanted the Truth within me; I dwell steadfastly in Truth and self-restraint. ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਬੋਹਿਥਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਣਾ ॥੬॥ सतिगुर सचा है बोहिथा सबदे भवजलु तरणा ॥६॥ Saṫgur sachaa hæ bohiṫʰaa sabḋé bʰavjal ṫarṇaa. ||6|| The True Guru is the Boat of Truth; in the Word of the Shabad, we cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||6|| ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ लख चउरासीह फिरदे रहे बिनु सतिगुर मुकति न होई ॥ Lakʰ cha▫oraaseeh firḋé rahé bin saṫgur mukaṫ na ho▫ee. People continue wandering through the cycle of 8.4 million incarnations; without the True Guru, liberation is not obtained. ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋਨੀ ਥਕੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥ पड़ि पड़ि पंडित मोनी थके दूजै भाइ पति खोई ॥ Paṛ paṛ pandiṫ monee ṫʰaké ḋoojæ bʰaa▫é paṫ kʰo▫ee. Reading and studying, the Pandits and the silent sages have grown weary, but attached to the love of duality, they have lost their honor. ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਚੇ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੭॥ सतिगुरि सबदु सुणाइआ बिनु सचे अवरु न कोई ॥७॥ Saṫgur sabaḋ suṇaa▫i▫aa bin saché avar na ko▫ee. ||7|| The True Guru teaches the Word of the Shabad; without the True One, there is no other at all. ||7|| ਜੋ ਸਚੈ ਲਾਏ ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਲਗੇ ਨਿਤ ਸਚੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਰੰਨਿ ॥ जो सचै लाए से सचि लगे नित सची कार करंनि ॥ Jo sachæ laa▫é sé sach lagé niṫ sachee kaar karann. Those who are linked by the True One are linked to Truth. They always act in Truth. ਤਿਨਾ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਚੈ ਮਹਲਿ ਰਹੰਨਿ ॥ तिना निज घरि वासा पाइआ सचै महलि रहंनि ॥ Ṫinaa nij gʰar vaasaa paa▫i▫aa sachæ mahal rahann. They attain their dwelling in the home of their own inner being, and they abide in the Mansion of Truth. ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਚੰਨਿ ॥੮॥੧੭॥੮॥੨੫॥ नानक भगत सुखीए सदा सचै नामि रचंनि ॥८॥१७॥८॥२५॥ Naanak bʰagaṫ sukʰee▫é saḋaa sachæ naam rachann. ||8||17||8||25|| O Nanak! The devotees are happy and peaceful forever. They are absorbed in the True Name. ||8||17||8||25|| ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਏ ਦੁਸਮਨਾ ਸਾਕ ਭਿ ਭਜਿ ਖਲੇ ॥ लागू होए दुसमना साक भि भजि खले ॥ Laagoo ho▫é ḋusmanaa saak bʰė bʰaj kʰalé. when your friends turn into enemies, and even your relatives have deserted you, ਜਾ ਕਉ ਮੁਸਕਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਬਣੈ ਢੋਈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਦੇਇ ॥ जा कउ मुसकलु अति बणै ढोई कोइ न देइ ॥ Jaa ka▫o muskal aṫ baṇæ dʰo▫ee ko▫é na ḋé▫é.
