ਲੋਗੁ ਗਠਾਵੈ ਪਨਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ लोगु गठावै पनही ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Log gaṯẖāvai panhī. ||1|| rahā▫o. People come to me to mend their shoes. ||1||Pause|| ਚਮਰਟਾ ਗਾਂਠਿ ਨ ਜਨਈ ॥ चमरटा गांठि न जनई ॥ Cẖamratā gāʼnṯẖ na jan▫ī. I am a shoemaker, but I do not know how to mend shoes. ਨਹੀ ਰਾਂਬੀ ਠਾਉ ਰੋਪਉ ॥੧॥ नही रांबी ठाउ रोपउ ॥१॥ Nahī rāʼnbī ṯẖā▫o ropa▫o. ||1|| I have no knife to patch them. ||1|| ਆਰ ਨਹੀ ਜਿਹ ਤੋਪਉ ॥ आर नही जिह तोपउ ॥ Ār nahī jih ṯopa▫o. I have no awl to stitch them; ਲੋਗੁ ਗੰਠਿ ਗੰਠਿ ਖਰਾ ਬਿਗੂਚਾ ॥ लोगु गंठि गंठि खरा बिगूचा ॥ Log ganṯẖ ganṯẖ kẖarā bigūcẖā. Mending, mending, people waste their lives and ruin themselves. ਹਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਾਂਠੇ ਜਾਇ ਪਹੂਚਾ ॥੨॥ हउ बिनु गांठे जाइ पहूचा ॥२॥ Ha▫o bin gāʼnṯẖe jā▫e pahūcẖā. ||2|| Without wasting my time mending, I have found the Lord. ||2|| ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁ ਜਪੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ॥ रविदासु जपै राम नामा ॥ Raviḏās japai rām nāmā. Ravi Daas chants the Lord's Name; ਮੋਹਿ ਜਮ ਸਿਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੩॥੭॥ मोहि जम सिउ नाही कामा ॥३॥७॥ Mohi jam si▫o nāhī kāmā. ||3||7|| he is not concerned with the Messenger of Death. ||3||7||
