ਹਉਮੈ ਜਲਤੇ ਜਲਿ ਮੁਏ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਏ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥ हउमै जलते जलि मुए भ्रमि आए दूजै भाइ ॥ Ha▫umai jalṯe jal mu▫e bẖaram ā▫e ḏūjai bẖā▫e. In the flames of egotism, he is burnt to death; he wanders in doubt and the love of duality. ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ सलोकु मः ३ ॥ Salok mėhlā 3. Shalok, Third Mehl: ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਆਪਣੈ ਪੰਨੈ ਪਾਇ ॥ पूरै सतिगुरि राखि लीए आपणै पंनै पाइ ॥ Pūrai saṯgur rākẖ lī▫e āpṇai pannai pā▫e. The Perfect True Guru saves him, making him His own. ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਜਲਤਾ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ इहु जगु जलता नदरी आइआ गुर कै सबदि सुभाइ ॥ Ih jag jalṯā naḏrī ā▫i▫ā gur kai sabaḏ subẖā▫e. This world is burning; through the Sublime Word of the Guru's Shabad, this comes to be seen. ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ सबदि रते से सीतल भए नानक सचु कमाइ ॥१॥ Sabaḏ raṯe se sīṯal bẖa▫e Nānak sacẖ kamā▫e. ||1|| Those who are attuned to the Shabad are cooled and soothed; O Nanak, they practice Truth. ||1||
