ਆਪੇ ਕੰਡਾ ਆਪਿ ਤਰਾਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪੇ ਤੋਲਿ ਤੋਲਾਇਆ ॥ आपे कंडा आपि तराजी प्रभि आपे तोलि तोलाइआ ॥ Āpe kandā āp ṯarājī parabẖ āpe ṯol ṯolā▫i▫ā. God Himself is the balance scale, He Himself is the weigher, and He Himself weighs with the weights. ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ सोरठि महला ४ ॥ Soraṯẖ mėhlā 4. Sorat'h, Fourth Mehl: ਆਪੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਾਜੀਅਨੁ ਪਿਆਰੈ ਪਿਛੈ ਟੰਕੁ ਚੜਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ आपे धरती साजीअनु पिआरै पिछै टंकु चड़ाइआ ॥१॥ Āpe ḏẖarṯī sājī▫an pi▫ārai picẖẖai tank cẖaṛā▫i▫ā. ||1|| The Beloved Himself fashioned the world, and He Himself counter-balances it with a gram. ||1|| ਆਪੇ ਸਾਹੁ ਆਪੇ ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥ आपे साहु आपे वणजारा आपे वणजु कराइआ ॥ Āpe sāhu āpe vaṇjārā āpe vaṇaj karā▫i▫ā. He Himself is the banker, He Himself is the trader, and He Himself makes the trades. ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ मेरे मन हरि हरि धिआइ सुखु पाइआ ॥ Mere man har har ḏẖi▫ā▫e sukẖ pā▫i▫ā. My mind meditates on the Lord, Har, Har, and finds peace. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ हरि हरि नामु निधानु है पिआरा गुरि पूरै मीठा लाइआ ॥ रहाउ ॥ Har har nām niḏẖān hai pi▫ārā gur pūrai mīṯẖā lā▫i▫ā. Rahā▫o. The Name of the Beloved Lord, Har, Har, is a treasure; the Perfect Guru has made it seem sweet to me. ||Pause|| ਆਪੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਆਪਿ ਜਲੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥ आपे धरती आपि जलु पिआरा आपे करे कराइआ ॥ Āpe ḏẖarṯī āp jal pi▫ārā āpe kare karā▫i▫ā. The Beloved Himself is the earth, and He Himself is the water; He Himself acts, and causes others to act. ਆਪੇ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜਲੁ ਮਾਟੀ ਬੰਧਿ ਰਖਾਇਆ ॥ आपे हुकमि वरतदा पिआरा जलु माटी बंधि रखाइआ ॥ Āpe hukam varaṯḏā pi▫ārā jal mātī banḏẖ rakẖā▫i▫ā. The Beloved Himself issues His Commands, and keeps the water and the land bound down. ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਭਉ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਬੰਨਿ ਬਕਰੀ ਸੀਹੁ ਹਢਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ आपे ही भउ पाइदा पिआरा बंनि बकरी सीहु हढाइआ ॥२॥ Āpe hī bẖa▫o pā▫iḏā pi▫ārā bann bakrī sīhu hadẖā▫i▫ā. ||2|| The Beloved Himself instills the Fear of God; He binds the tiger and the goat together. ||2|| ਆਪੇ ਕਾਸਟ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਾਸਟ ਅਗਨਿ ਰਖਾਇਆ ॥ आपे कासट आपि हरि पिआरा विचि कासट अगनि रखाइआ ॥ Āpe kāsat āp har pi▫ārā vicẖ kāsat agan rakẖā▫i▫ā. The Beloved Lord Himself is the firewood, and He Himself keeps the fire within the wood. ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਭੈ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਜਲਾਇਆ ॥ आपे ही आपि वरतदा पिआरा भै अगनि न सकै जलाइआ ॥ Āpe hī āp varaṯḏā pi▫ārā bẖai agan na sakai jalā▫i▫ā. The Beloved Lord Himself, all by Himself, permeates them, and because of the Fear of God, the fire cannot burn the wood. ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਾਹ ਲੈਦੇ ਸਭਿ ਲਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ आपे मारि जीवाइदा पिआरा साह लैदे सभि लवाइआ ॥३॥ Āpe mār jīvā▫iḏā pi▫ārā sāh laiḏe sabẖ lavā▫i▫ā. ||3|| The Beloved Himself kills and revives; all draw the breath of life, given by Him. ||3|| ਆਪੇ ਤਾਣੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ आपे ताणु दीबाणु है पिआरा आपे कारै लाइआ ॥ Āpe ṯāṇ ḏībāṇ hai pi▫ārā āpe kārai lā▫i▫ā. The Beloved Himself is power and presence; He Himself engages us in our work. ਜਿਉ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਾਏ ਤਿਉ ਚਲੀਐ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਇਆ ॥ जिउ आपि चलाए तिउ चलीऐ पिआरे जिउ हरि प्रभ मेरे भाइआ ॥ Ji▫o āp cẖalā▫e ṯi▫o cẖalī▫ai pi▫āre ji▫o har parabẖ mere bẖā▫i▫ā. As the Beloved makes me walk, I walk, as it pleases my Lord God. ਆਪੇ ਜੰਤੀ ਜੰਤੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਜਹਿ ਵਜਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥ आपे जंती जंतु है पिआरा जन नानक वजहि वजाइआ ॥४॥४॥ Āpe janṯī janṯ hai pi▫ārā jan Nānak vajėh vajā▫i▫ā. ||4||4|| The Beloved Himself is the musician, and the musical instrument; servant Nanak vibrates His vibration. ||4||4||
