ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਕਾਇਰੁ ਕਰੂਪੁ ਹੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਨਕੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ मनमुखु काइरु करूपु है बिनु नावै नकु नाहि ॥ Manmukẖ kā▫ir karūp hai bin nāvai nak nāhi. The self-willed manmukh is cowardly and ugly; lacking the Name of the Lord, his nose is cut off in disgrace. ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ सलोक मः ३ ॥ Salok mėhlā 3. Shalok, Third Mehl: ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਉਬਰਹਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਤ ਬਧੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਹਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ नानक गुरमुखि होवहि ता उबरहि नाहि त बधे दुख सहाहि ॥१॥ Nānak gurmukẖ hovėh ṯā ubrahi nāhi ṯa baḏẖe ḏukẖ sahāhi. ||1|| O Nanak, if he becomes Gurmukh, then he shall be saved; otherwise, he is held in bondage, and suffers in pain. ||1|| ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਧੰਧੈ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਭੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ अनदिनु धंधै विआपिआ सुपनै भी सुखु नाहि ॥ An▫ḏin ḏẖanḏẖai vi▫āpi▫ā supnai bẖī sukẖ nāhi. Night and day, he is engrossed in worldly affairs, and even in his dreams, he finds no peace. |
