ਭੇਖੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਬੁਝਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ भेखी अगनि न बुझई चिंता है मन माहि ॥ Bẖekẖī agan na bujẖ▫ī cẖinṯā hai man māhi. Wearing ceremonial robes, the fire is not quenched, and the mind is filled with anxiety. ਮਃ ੩ ॥ मः ३ ॥ Mėhlā 3. Third Mehl: ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ सतिगुरु दाता सेवीऐ सबदु वसै मनि आइ ॥ Saṯgur ḏāṯā sevī▫ai sabaḏ vasai man ā▫e. Serving the Giver, the True Guru, the Shabad comes to abide in the mind. ਵਰਮੀ ਮਾਰੀ ਸਾਪੁ ਨਾ ਮਰੈ ਤਿਉ ਨਿਗੁਰੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥ वरमी मारी सापु ना मरै तिउ निगुरे करम कमाहि ॥ varmī mārī sāp na marai ṯi▫o nigure karam kamāhi. Destroying the snake's hole, the snake is not killed; it is just like doing deeds without a Guru. ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥ मनु तनु सीतलु सांति होइ त्रिसना अगनि बुझाइ ॥ Man ṯan sīṯal sāʼnṯ ho▫e ṯarisnā agan bujẖā▫e. The mind and body are cooled and soothed; peace ensues, and the fire of desire is quenched. ਸੁਖਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥ सुखा सिरि सदा सुखु होइ जा विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥ Sukẖā sir saḏā sukẖ ho▫e jā vicẖahu āp gavā▫e. The supreme comforts and lasting peace are obtained, when one eradicates ego from within. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ गुरमुखि उदासी सो करे जि सचि रहै लिव लाइ ॥ Gurmukẖ uḏāsī so kare jė sacẖ rahai liv lā▫e. He alone becomes a detached Gurmukh, who lovingly focuses his consciousness on the True Lord. ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਜਾ ਆਘਾਇ ॥ चिंता मूलि न होवई हरि नामि रजा आघाइ ॥ Cẖinṯā mūl na hova▫ī har nām rajā āgẖā▫e. Anxiety does not affect him at all; he is satisfied and satiated with the Name of the Lord. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਚਹਿ ਪਚਾਇ ॥੨॥ नानक नाम बिना नह छूटीऐ हउमै पचहि पचाइ ॥२॥ Nānak nām binā nah cẖẖūtī▫ai ha▫umai pacẖėh pacẖā▫e. ||2|| O Nanak, without the Naam, no one is saved; they are utterly ruined by egotism. ||2||
