ਇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਜਜਰੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਨੋ ਜਰੁ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਆਏ ॥ इहु सरीरु जजरी है इस नो जरु पहुचै आए ॥ Ih sarīr jajrī hai is no jar pahucẖai ā▫e. This body is frail; old age is overtaking it. ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ वडहंसु महला ३ ॥ vad▫hans mėhlā 3. Wadahans, Third Mehl: ਹੋਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਵਹਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਏ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ होरि मरि जमहि आवहि जावहि अंति गए पछुतावहि बिनु नावै सुखु न होई ॥ Hor mar jamėh āvahi jāvėh anṯ ga▫e pacẖẖuṯāvahi bin nāvai sukẖ na ho▫ī. Others die, to be reincarnated; they continue coming and going, and in the end, they depart regretfully. Without the Name, there is no peace. ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਹੋਰੁ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ गुरि राखे से उबरे होरु मरि जमै आवै जाए ॥ Gur rākẖe se ubre hor mar jammai āvai jā▫e. Those who are protected by the Guru are saved, while others die, to be reincarnated; they continue coming and going. ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧਾਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ਨਾ ਤਿਥੈ ਭੈਣ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥ जम पुरि घोर अंधारु महा गुबारु ना तिथै भैण न भाई ॥ Jam pur gẖor anḏẖār mahā gubār nā ṯithai bẖaiṇ na bẖā▫ī. In the City of Death, there is pitch darkness, and huge clouds of dust; neither sister nor brother is there. ਐਥੈ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਹੈ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥ ऐथै कमावै सो फलु पावै मनमुखि है पति खोई ॥ Aithai kamāvai so fal pāvai manmukẖ hai paṯ kẖo▫ī. As one acts here, so does he obtain his rewards; the self-willed manmukh loses his honor. ਇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਜਜਰੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਨੋ ਜਰੁ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਆਈ ॥੧॥ इहु सरीरु जजरी है इस नो जरु पहुचै आई ॥१॥ Ih sarīr jajrī hai is no jar pahucẖai ā▫ī. ||1|| This body is frail; old age is overtaking it. ||1|| ਕਾਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਥੀਐ ਜਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ काइआ कंचनु तां थीऐ जां सतिगुरु लए मिलाए ॥ Kā▫i▫ā kancẖan ṯāʼn thī▫ai jāʼn saṯgur la▫e milā▫e. The body becomes like gold, when the True Guru unites one with Himself. ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਸਚੜੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ भ्रमु माइआ विचहु कटीऐ सचड़ै नामि समाए ॥ Bẖaram mā▫i▫ā vicẖahu katī▫ai sacẖṛai nām samā▫e. Doubt and Maya have been removed from within me, and I am merged in the Naam, the True Name of the Lord. ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ सचै नामि समाए हरि गुण गाए मिलि प्रीतम सुखु पाए ॥ Sacẖai nām samā▫e har guṇ gā▫e mil parīṯam sukẖ pā▫e. Merged in the True Name of the Lord, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; meeting my Beloved, I have found peace. ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦਿ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹੰਉਮੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ सदा अनंदि रहै दिनु राती विचहु हंउमै जाए ॥ Saḏā anand rahai ḏin rāṯī vicẖahu haʼn▫umai jā▫e. I am in constant bliss, day and night; egotism has been dispelled from within me. ਜਿਨੀ ਪੁਰਖੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹੰਉ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥ जिनी पुरखी हरि नामि चितु लाइआ तिन कै हंउ लागउ पाए ॥ Jinī purkẖī har nām cẖiṯ lā▫i▫ā ṯin kai haʼn▫u lāga▫o pā▫e. I fall at the feet of those who enshrine the Naam within their consciousness. ਕਾਂਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਥੀਐ ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥ कांइआ कंचनु तां थीऐ जा सतिगुरु लए मिलाए ॥२॥ Kāʼn▫i▫ā kancẖan ṯāʼn thī▫ai jā saṯgur la▫e milā▫e. ||2|| The body becomes like gold, when the True Guru unites one with Himself. ||2|| ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥ सो सचा सचु सलाहीऐ जे सतिगुरु देइ बुझाए ॥ So sacẖā sacẖ salāhī▫ai je saṯgur ḏe▫e bujẖā▫e. We truly praise the True Lord, when the True Guru imparts understanding. ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੀਆ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਸਨਿ ਆਗੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ बिनु सतिगुर भरमि भुलाणीआ किआ मुहु देसनि आगै जाए ॥ Bin saṯgur bẖaram bẖulāṇī▫ā ki▫ā muhu ḏesan āgai jā▫e. Without the True Guru, they are deluded by doubt; going to the world hereafter, what face will they display? ਕਿਆ ਦੇਨਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਜਾਏ ਅਵਗੁਣਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਏ ਦੁਖੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਏ ॥ किआ देनि मुहु जाए अवगुणि पछुताए दुखो दुखु कमाए ॥ Ki▫ā ḏen muhu jā▫e avguṇ pacẖẖuṯā▫e ḏukẖo ḏukẖ kamā▫e. What face will they show, when they go there? They will regret and repent for their sins; their actions will bring them only pain and suffering. ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੀਆ ਸੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲਾ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ नामि रतीआ से रंगि चलूला पिर कै अंकि समाए ॥ Nām raṯī▫ā se rang cẖalūlā pir kai ank samā▫e. Those who are imbued with the Naam are dyed in the deep crimson color of the Lord's Love; they merge into the Being of their Husband Lord. ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਸੂਝਈ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਾਏ ॥ तिसु जेवडु अवरु न सूझई किसु आगै कहीऐ जाए ॥ Ŧis jevad avar na sūjẖ▫ī kis āgai kahī▫ai jā▫e. I can conceive of no other as great as the Lord; unto whom should I go and speak? ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥੩॥ सो सचा सचु सलाहीऐ जे सतिगुरु देइ बुझाए ॥३॥ So sacẖā sacẖ salāhī▫ai je saṯgur ḏe▫e bujẖā▫e. ||3|| We truly praise the True Lord, when the True Guru imparts understanding. ||3|| ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੜਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਹੰਉ ਤਿਨ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥ जिनी सचड़ा सचु सलाहिआ हंउ तिन लागउ पाए ॥ Jinī sacẖṛā sacẖ sahāli▫ā haʼn▫u ṯin lāga▫o pā▫e. I fall at the feet of those who praise the Truest of the True. ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਲੁ ਸਭ ਜਾਏ ॥ से जन सचे निरमले तिन मिलिआ मलु सभ जाए ॥ Se jan sacẖe nirmale ṯin mili▫ā mal sabẖ jā▫e. Those humble beings are true, and immaculately pure; meeting them, all filth is washed off. ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਲੁ ਸਭ ਜਾਏ ਸਚੈ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਏ ਸਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥ तिन मिलिआ मलु सभ जाए सचै सरि नाए सचै सहजि सुभाए ॥ Ŧin mili▫ā mal sabẖ jā▫e sacẖai sar nā▫e sacẖai sahj subẖā▫e. Meeting them, all filth is washed off; bathing in the Pool of Truth, one becomes truthful, with intuitive ease. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ अनदिनु भगति करहि रंगि राते नानक सचि समाए ॥ An▫ḏin bẖagaṯ karahi rang rāṯe Nānak sacẖ samā▫e. Those who perform devotional worship to the Lord night and day, are imbued with His Love; O Nanak, they are absorbed in the True Lord. ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥ नामु निरंजनु अगमु अगोचरु सतिगुरि दीआ बुझाए ॥ Nām niranjan agam agocẖar saṯgur ḏī▫ā bujẖā▫e. The True Guru has given me the realization of the Naam, the Immaculate Name of the Lord, the unfathomable, the imperceptible. ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੜਾ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹੰਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੪॥ जिनी सचड़ा सचु धिआइआ हंउ तिन कै लागउ पाए ॥४॥४॥ Jinī sacẖṛā sacẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā haʼn▫u ṯin kai lāga▫o pā▫e. ||4||4|| I fall at the feet of those who meditate on the Truest of the True. ||4||4||
