ਕਵਨ ਕਵਨ ਜਾਚਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤੇ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਨ ਪਰਹਿ ਸੁਮਾਰ ॥

ਕਵਨ ਕਵਨ ਜਾਚਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤੇ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਪਰਹਿ ਸੁਮਾਰ
कवन कवन जाचहि प्रभ दाते ता के अंत न परहि सुमार ॥
Kavan kavan jācẖėh parabẖ ḏāṯe ṯā ke anṯ na parėh sumār.
Those who beg of God the Great Giver - their numbers cannot be counted.

ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गूजरी महला १ ॥
Gūjrī mėhlā 1.
Goojaree, First Mehl:

ਜੀ ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸਚੁ ਅਧਾਰ
ऐ जी जपु तपु संजमु सचु अधार ॥
Ai jī jap ṯap sanjam sacẖ aḏẖār.
O Dear Lord, chanting, deep meditation, self-discipline and truth are my foundations.

ਜੈਸੀ ਭੂਖ ਹੋਇ ਅਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੂੰ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਚੁ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰ ॥੧॥
जैसी भूख होइ अभ अंतरि तूं समरथु सचु देवणहार ॥१॥
Jaisī bẖūkẖ ho▫e abẖ anṯar ṯūʼn samrath sacẖ ḏevaṇhār. ||1||
You, Almighty True Lord, fulfill the desires within their hearts. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
हरि हरि नामु देहि सुखु पाईऐ तेरी भगति भरे भंडार ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har har nām ḏėh sukẖ pā▫ī▫ai ṯerī bẖagaṯ bẖare bẖandār. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Bless me with Your Name, Lord, that I may find peace. Your devotional worship is a treasure over-flowing. ||1||Pause||

ਸੁੰਨ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ਏਕਾ ਏਕੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰ
सुंन समाधि रहहि लिव लागे एका एकी सबदु बीचार ॥
Sunn samāḏẖ rahėh liv lāge ekā ekī sabaḏ bīcẖār.
Some remain absorbed in Samaadhi, their minds fixed lovingly on the One Lord; they reflect only on the Word of the Shabad.

ਜਲੁ ਥਲੁ ਧਰਣਿ ਗਗਨੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਕੀਆ ਕਰਤਾਰ ॥੨॥
जलु थलु धरणि गगनु तह नाही आपे आपु कीआ करतार ॥२॥
Jal thal ḏẖaraṇ gagan ṯah nāhī āpe āp kī▫ā karṯār. ||2||
In that state, there is no water, land, earth or sky; only the Creator Lord Himself exists. ||2||

ਨਾ ਤਦਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਗਨੁ ਛਾਇਆ ਨਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਚੰਦ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਪਾਰ
ना तदि माइआ मगनु न छाइआ ना सूरज चंद न जोति अपार ॥
Nā ṯaḏ mā▫i▫ā magan na cẖẖā▫i▫ā nā sūraj cẖanḏ na joṯ apār.
There is no intoxication of Maya there, and no shadow, nor the infinite light of the sun or the moon.

ਸਰਬ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਲੋਚਨ ਅਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਏਕਾ ਨਦਰਿ ਸੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸਾਰ ॥੩॥
सरब द्रिसटि लोचन अभ अंतरि एका नदरि सु त्रिभवण सार ॥३॥
Sarab ḏarisat locẖan abẖ anṯar ekā naḏar so ṯaribẖavaṇ sār. ||3||
The eyes within the mind which see everything - with one glance, they see the three worlds. ||3||

ਪਵਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸ ਅਕਾਰ
पवणु पाणी अगनि तिनि कीआ ब्रहमा बिसनु महेस अकार ॥
Pavaṇ pāṇī agan ṯin kī▫ā barahmā bisan mahes akār.
He created air, water and fire, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva - the whole creation.

ਸਰਬੇ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥੪॥
सरबे जाचिक तूं प्रभु दाता दाति करे अपुनै बीचार ॥४॥
Sarbe jācẖik ṯūʼn parabẖ ḏāṯā ḏāṯ kare apunai bīcẖār. ||4||
All are beggars; You alone are the Great Giver, God. You give Your gifts according to Your own considerations. ||4||

ਕੋਟਿ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਜਾਚਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਇਕ ਦੇਦੇ ਤੋਟਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਭੰਡਾਰ
कोटि तेतीस जाचहि प्रभ नाइक देदे तोटि नाही भंडार ॥
Kot ṯeṯīs jācẖėh parabẖ nā▫ik ḏeḏe ṯot nāhī bẖandār.
Three hundred thirty million gods beg of God the Master; even as He gives, His treasures are never exhausted.

ਊਂਧੈ ਭਾਂਡੈ ਕਛੁ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਸੀਧੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪਰੈ ਨਿਹਾਰ ॥੫॥
ऊंधै भांडै कछु न समावै सीधै अम्रितु परै निहार ॥५॥
Ūʼnḏẖai bẖāʼndai kacẖẖ na samāvai sīḏẖai amriṯ parai nihār. ||5||
Nothing can be contained in a vessel turned upside-down; Ambrosial Nectar pours into the upright one. ||5||

ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਚਹਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਜਾਚਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਜੈਕਾਰ
सिध समाधी अंतरि जाचहि रिधि सिधि जाचि करहि जैकार ॥
Siḏẖ samāḏẖī anṯar jācẖėh riḏẖ siḏẖ jācẖ karahi jaikār.
The Siddhas in Samaadhi beg for wealth and miracles, and proclaim His victory.

ਜੈਸੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਹੋਇ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੈਸੋ ਜਲੁ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਪਰਕਾਰ ॥੬॥
जैसी पिआस होइ मन अंतरि तैसो जलु देवहि परकार ॥६॥
Jaisī pi▫ās ho▫e man anṯar ṯaiso jal ḏevėh parkār. ||6||
As is the thirst within their minds, so is the water which You give to them. ||6||

ਬਡੇ ਭਾਗ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਭੇਦੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਮੁਰਾਰ
बडे भाग गुरु सेवहि अपुना भेदु नाही गुरदेव मुरार ॥
Bade bẖāg gur sevėh apunā bẖeḏ nāhī gurḏev murār.
The most fortunate ones serve their Guru; there is no difference between the Divine Guru and the Lord.

ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕਾਲੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹੈ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥੭॥
ता कउ कालु नाही जमु जोहै बूझहि अंतरि सबदु बीचार ॥७॥
Ŧā ka▫o kāl nāhī jam johai būjẖėh anṯar sabaḏ bīcẖār. ||7||
The Messenger of Death cannot see those who come to realize within their minds the contemplative meditation of the Word of the Shabad. ||7||

ਅਬ ਤਬ ਅਵਰੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਹਰਿ ਪਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਦੀਜੈ ਪਿਆਰਿ
अब तब अवरु न मागउ हरि पहि नामु निरंजन दीजै पिआरि ॥
Ab ṯab avar na māga▫o har pėh nām niranjan ḏījai pi▫ār.
I shall never ask anything else of the Lord; please, bless me with the Love of Your Immaculate Name.

ਜੀ ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰੈ ਆਵੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਜਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਈ
ऐ जी जनमि मरै आवै फुनि जावै बिनु गुर गति नही काई ॥
Ai jī janam marai āvai fun jāvai bin gur gaṯ nahī kā▫ī.
O Dear One, he is born, and then dies; he continues coming and going; without the Guru, he is not emancipated.
