ਮਃ ੧ ॥ मः १ ॥ Mėhlā 1. First Mehl: ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਨ ਚੇਤਨੀ ਮਨਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਸੁਚੇਤ ॥ नानक गुरू न चेतनी मनि आपणै सुचेत ॥ Nānak gurū na cẖeṯnī man āpṇai sucẖeṯ. O Nanak, those who do not think of the Guru, and who think of themselves as clever, ਛੁਟੇ ਤਿਲ ਬੂਆੜ ਜਿਉ ਸੁੰਞੇ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਖੇਤ ॥ छुटे तिल बूआड़ जिउ सुंञे अंदरि खेत ॥ Cẖẖute ṯil bū▫āṛ ji▫o suñe anḏar kẖeṯ. shall be left abandoned in the field, like the scattered sesame. ਖੇਤੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਛੁਟਿਆ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਉ ਨਾਹ ॥ खेतै अंदरि छुटिआ कहु नानक सउ नाह ॥ Kẖeṯai anḏar cẖẖuti▫ā kaho Nānak sa▫o nāh. They are abandoned in the field, says Nanak, and they have a hundred masters to please. ਫਲੀਅਹਿ ਫੁਲੀਅਹਿ ਬਪੁੜੇ ਭੀ ਤਨ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੁਆਹ ॥੩॥ फलीअहि फुलीअहि बपुड़े भी तन विचि सुआह ॥३॥ Falī▫ah fulī▫ah bapuṛe bẖī ṯan vicẖ su▫āh. ||3|| The wretches bear fruit and flower, but within their bodies, they are filled with ashes. ||3|| |
