By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਕਮਲਾ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਕਮਲਾ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਹੇ ਤੀਖਣ ਮਦ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ਹੇ ਅਵਧ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਜਾਤ ॥ कमला भ्रम भीति कमला भ्रम भीति हे तीखण मद बिपरीति हे अवध अकारथ जात ॥ Kamlaa bʰaram bʰeeṫ kamlaa bʰaram bʰeeṫ hé ṫeekʰaṇ maḋ bipreeṫ hé avaḋʰ akaaraṫʰ jaaṫ. Maya is the wall of doubt - Maya is the wall of doubt. It is such a powerful and destructive intoxicant; it corrupts and wastes away one’s life. ਗਹਬਰ ਬਨ ਘੋਰ ਗਹਬਰ ਬਨ ਘੋਰ ਹੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮੂਸਤ ਮਨ ਚੋਰ ਹੇ ਦਿਨਕਰੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਖਾਤ ॥ गहबर बन घोर गहबर बन घोर हे ग्रिह मूसत मन चोर हे दिनकरो अनदिनु खात ॥ Gahbar ban gʰor gahbar ban gʰor hé garih moosaṫ man chor hé ḋinkaro an▫ḋin kʰaaṫ. In the terrible, impenetrable world-forest - in the terrible, impenetrable world-forest, the thieves are plundering man’s house in broad daylight; night and day, this life is being consumed. ਦਿਨ ਖਾਤ ਜਾਤ ਬਿਹਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਪਤੇ ॥ दिन खात जात बिहात प्रभ बिनु मिलहु प्रभ करुणा पते ॥ Ḋin kʰaaṫ jaaṫ bihaaṫ parabʰ bin milhu parabʰ karuṇaa paṫé. The days of your life are being consumed; they are passing away without God. So, meet God, the Merciful Lord. ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਅਨੇਕ ਬੀਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਛੁ ਨਹ ਗਤੇ ॥ जनम मरण अनेक बीते प्रिअ संग बिनु कछु नह गते ॥ Janam maraṇ anék beeṫé pari▫a sang bin kachʰ nah gaṫé. I passed through so many births and deaths; without Union with the Beloved, I did not obtain salvation. ਕੁਲ ਰੂਪ ਧੂਪ ਗਿਆਨਹੀਨੀ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਵਨ ਮਾਤ ॥ कुल रूप धूप गिआनहीनी तुझ बिना मोहि कवन मात ॥ Kul roop ḋʰoop gi▫aanheenee ṫujʰ binaa mohi kavan maaṫ. I am without the status of high birth, beauty, glory or spiritual wisdom; without You, who is mine, O Mother? ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਨਾਥ ਨਰਹਰ ਕਰਹੁ ਗਾਤ ॥੧॥ कर जोड़ि नानकु सरणि आइओ प्रिअ नाथ नरहर करहु गात ॥१॥ Kar joṛ Naanak saraṇ aa▫i▫o pari▫a naaṫʰ nar▫har karahu gaaṫ. ||1|| With my palms pressed together, O Nanak! I enter the Lord’s Sanctuary; O beloved almighty Lord and Master, please, save me! ||1|| ਮੀਨਾ ਜਲਹੀਨ ਮੀਨਾ ਜਲਹੀਨ ਹੇ ਓਹੁ ਬਿਛੁਰਤ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਖੀਨ ਹੇ ਕਤ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੋਤ ॥ मीना जलहीन मीना जलहीन हे ओहु बिछुरत मन तन खीन हे कत जीवनु प्रिअ बिनु होत ॥ Meenaa jalheen meenaa jalheen hé oh bichʰuraṫ man ṫan kʰeen hé kaṫ jeevan pari▫a bin hoṫ. Like a fish out of water - like a fish out of water, separated from the Lord, the mind and body perish; how can I live, without my Beloved? ਸਨਮੁਖ ਸਹਿ ਬਾਨ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਸਹਿ ਬਾਨ ਹੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਅਰਪੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹੇ ਓਹੁ ਬੇਧਿਓ ਸਹਜ ਸਰੋਤ ॥ सनमुख सहि बान सनमुख सहि बान हे म्रिग अरपे मन तन प्रान हे ओहु बेधिओ सहज सरोत ॥ Sanmukʰ sėh baan sanmukʰ sėh baan hé marig arpé man ṫan paraan hé oh béḋʰi▫o sahj saroṫ. Facing the arrow head-on - facing the arrow head-on, the deer surrenders his mind, body and breath of life; he is struck by the hunter’s soothing music. ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਮਿਲੁ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਖਿਨੁ ਰਹਨੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਤਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ॥ प्रिअ प्रीति लागी मिलु बैरागी खिनु रहनु ध्रिगु तनु तिसु बिना ॥ Pari▫a pareeṫ laagee mil bæraagee kʰin rahan ḋʰarig ṫan ṫis binaa. I have enshrined love for my Beloved. In order to meet Him, I have become a renunciate. Cursed is that body which remains without Him, even for an instant. ਪਲਕਾ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਾਗੈ ਚਿਤਵੰਤਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਾ ॥ पलका न लागै प्रिअ प्रेम पागै चितवंति अनदिनु प्रभ मना ॥ Palkaa na laagæ pari▫a parém paagæ chiṫvanṫ an▫ḋin parabʰ manaa. My eyelids do not close, for I am absorbed in the love of my Beloved. Day and night, my mind thinks only of God. ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਮਾਤੇ ਭੈ ਭਰਮ ਦੁਤੀਆ ਸਗਲ ਖੋਤ ॥ स्रीरंग राते नाम माते भै भरम दुतीआ सगल खोत ॥ Sareerang raaṫé naam maaṫé bʰæ bʰaram ḋuṫee▫aa sagal kʰoṫ. Attuned to the Lord, intoxicated with the Naam, fear, doubt and duality have all left me. ਕਰਿ ਮਇਆ ਦਇਆ ਦਇਆਲ ਪੂਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਗਨ ਹੋਤ ॥੨॥ करि मइआ दइआ दइआल पूरन हरि प्रेम नानक मगन होत ॥२॥ Kar ma▫i▫aa ḋa▫i▫aa ḋa▫i▫aal pooran har parém Naanak magan hoṫ. ||2|| Bestow Your mercy and compassion, O merciful and perfect Lord, that Nanak may be intoxicated with Your Love. ||2|| ਅਲੀਅਲ ਗੁੰਜਾਤ ਅਲੀਅਲ ਗੁੰਜਾਤ ਹੇ ਮਕਰੰਦ ਰਸ ਬਾਸਨ ਮਾਤ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਮਲ ਬੰਧਾਵਤ ਆਪ ॥ अलीअल गुंजात अलीअल गुंजात हे मकरंद रस बासन मात हे प्रीति कमल बंधावत आप ॥ Alee▫al guⁿjaaṫ alee▫al guⁿjaaṫ hé makranḋ ras baasan maaṫ hé pareeṫ kamal banḋʰaavaṫ aap. The bumble-bee is buzzing - the bumble-bee is buzzing, intoxicated with the honey, the flavor and the fragrance; because of its love for the lotus, it entangles itself. ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਚਿਤ ਪਿਆਸ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਚਿਤ ਪਿਆਸ ਹੇ ਘਨ ਬੂੰਦ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ਹੇ ਅਲ ਪੀਵਤ ਬਿਨਸਤ ਤਾਪ ॥ चात्रिक चित पिआस चात्रिक चित पिआस हे घन बूंद बचित्रि मनि आस हे अल पीवत बिनसत ताप ॥ Chaaṫrik chiṫ pi▫aas chaaṫrik chiṫ pi▫aas hé gʰan boonḋ bachiṫar man aas hé al peevaṫ binsaṫ ṫaap. The mind of the rainbird thirsts - the mind of the rainbird thirsts; its mind longs for the beautiful rain-drops from the clouds. Drinking them in, its fever departs. ਤਾਪਾ ਬਿਨਾਸਨ ਦੂਖ ਨਾਸਨ ਮਿਲੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਅਤਿ ਘਨਾ ॥ तापा बिनासन दूख नासन मिलु प्रेमु मनि तनि अति घना ॥ Ṫaapaa binaasan ḋookʰ naasan mil parém man ṫan aṫ gʰanaa. O Destroyer of fever, Remover of pain, please unite me with You. My mind and body have such great love for You. ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਚਤੁਰੁ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਵਨ ਰਸਨਾ ਗੁਣ ਭਨਾ ॥ सुंदरु चतुरु सुजान सुआमी कवन रसना गुण भना ॥ Sunḋar chaṫur sujaan su▫aamee kavan rasnaa guṇ bʰanaa. O my beautiful, wise and all-knowing Lord and Master, with what tongue should I chant Your Praises? ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਤ ਮਿਟਤ ਪਾਪ ॥ गहि भुजा लेवहु नामु देवहु द्रिसटि धारत मिटत पाप ॥ Gėh bʰujaa lévhu naam ḋévhu ḋarisat ḋʰaaraṫ mitaṫ paap. Take me by the arm, and grant me Your Name. One who is blessed with Your Glance of Grace, has his sins erased. ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੰਪੈ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਨਹ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੩॥ नानकु ज्मपै पतित पावन हरि दरसु पेखत नह संताप ॥३॥ Naanak jampæ paṫiṫ paavan har ḋaras pékʰaṫ nah sanṫaap. ||3|| Nanak meditates on the Lord, the Purifier of sinners; beholding His Vision, he suffers no more. ||3|| ਚਿਤਵਉ ਚਿਤ ਨਾਥ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਚਿਤ ਨਾਥ ਹੇ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਅਨਾਥ ਹੇ ਮਿਲੁ ਚਾਉ ਚਾਈਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ॥ चितवउ चित नाथ चितवउ चित नाथ हे रखि लेवहु सरणि अनाथ हे मिलु चाउ चाईले प्रान ॥ Chiṫva▫o chiṫ naaṫʰ chiṫva▫o chiṫ naaṫʰ hé rakʰ lévhu saraṇ anaaṫʰ hé mil chaa▫o chaa▫eelé paraan. I focus my consciousness on the Lord - I focus my consciousness upon the Lord; I am helpless - please, keep me under Your Protection. I yearn to meet You, my soul hungers for You. ਸੁੰਦਰ ਤਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਤਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਹੇ ਮਨੁ ਲੁਬਧ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੇ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਜਨ ਰਾਖਤ ਮਾਨ ॥ सुंदर तन धिआन सुंदर तन धिआन हे मनु लुबध गोपाल गिआन हे जाचिक जन राखत मान ॥ Sunḋar ṫan ḋʰi▫aan sunḋar ṫan ḋʰi▫aan hé man lubaḋʰ gopaal gi▫aan hé jaachik jan raakʰaṫ maan. I meditate on Your beautiful body - I meditate on Your beautiful body; my mind is fascinated by Your spiritual wisdom, O Lord of the world. Please, preserve the honor of Your humble servants and beggars. ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਦੁਖ ਬਿਦੀਰਨ ਸਗਲ ਇਛ ਪੁਜੰਤੀਆ ॥ प्रभ मान पूरन दुख बिदीरन सगल इछ पुजंतीआ ॥ Parabʰ maan pooran ḋukʰ biḋeeran sagal ichʰ pujanṫee▫aa. God bestows perfect honor and destroys pain; He has fulfilled all my desires. ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਿਲੇ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਸਗਲ ਕਲਮਲ ਭਏ ਹਾਨ ॥ प्रभ द्रिसटि धारी मिले मुरारी सगल कलमल भए हान ॥ Parabʰ ḋarisat ḋʰaaree milé muraaree sagal kalmal bʰa▫é haan. When God granted His Grace and met me, all my sins were erased. ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਭਾਗੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਹ ਸੇਜ ਸੋਹੰਤੀਆ ॥ हरि कंठि लागे दिन सभागे मिलि नाह सेज सोहंतीआ ॥ Har kantʰ laagé ḋin sabʰaagé mil naah séj suhanṫee▫aa. How very blessed was that day when the Lord embraced me; meeting my Husband Lord, my bed was beautified. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੪॥ बिनवंति नानक मेरी आस पूरन मिले स्रीधर गुण निधान ॥४॥१॥१४॥ Binvanṫ Naanak méree aas pooran milé sareeḋʰar guṇ niḋʰaan. ||4||1||14|| Prays Nanak, my hopes are fulfilled; I have met the Lord, the Lord of Lakshmi, the treasure of excellence. ||4||1||14||
