ਮਿਲਉ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਾਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥

ਮਿਲਉ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਾਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ
मिलउ संतन कै संगि मोहि उधारि लेहु ॥
Mila▫o sanṯan kai sang mohi uḏẖār leho.
Let me join the Society of the Saints - save me, Lord!

Chhant:

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗਉ ਮਾਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਦਇਆ
हरि नामु मागउ चरण लागउ मानु तिआगउ तुम्ह दइआ ॥
Har nām māga▫o cẖaraṇ lāga▫o mān ṯi▫āga▫o ṯumĥ ḏa▫i▫ā.
I beg for the Lord's Name, and fall at His feet; I renounce my self-conceit, by Your kindness.

ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰਉ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ
बिनउ करउ कर जोड़ि हरि हरि नामु देहु ॥
Bin▫o kara▫o kar joṛ har har nām ḏeh.
With my palms pressed together, I offer my prayer: give me Your Name, O Lord, Har, Har.

ਸਮਰਥ ਅਗਥ ਅਪਾਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਿਨਉ ਏਹੁ
समरथ अगथ अपार निरमल सुणहु सुआमी बिनउ एहु ॥
Samrath agath apār nirmal suṇhu su▫āmī bin▫o ehu.
O all-powerful, indescribable, infinite and immaculate Lord Master, listen to this, my prayer.

ਕਤਹੂੰ ਧਾਵਉ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਾਵਉ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਿ ਮਇਆ
कतहूं न धावउ सरणि पावउ करुणा मै प्रभ करि मइआ ॥
Kaṯahūʼn na ḏẖāva▫o saraṇ pāva▫o karuṇā mai parabẖ kar ma▫i▫ā.
I shall not wander anywhere else, but take to Your Sanctuary. O God, embodiment of mercy, have mercy on me.

ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਨੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੧॥
कर जोड़ि नानक दानु मागै जनम मरण निवारि लेहु ॥१॥
Kar joṛ Nānak ḏān māgai janam maraṇ nivār leho. ||1||
With palms pressed together, Nanak begs for this blessing: O Lord, let my cycle of birth and death come to an end. ||1||

ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਮਤਿਹੀਨੁ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਨੀਚੁ
अपराधी मतिहीनु निरगुनु अनाथु नीचु ॥
Aprāḏẖī maṯihīn nirgun anāth nīcẖ.
I am a sinner, devoid of wisdom, worthless, destitute and vile.

ਸਠ ਕਠੋਰੁ ਕੁਲਹੀਨੁ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਮੋਹ ਕੀਚੁ
सठ कठोरु कुलहीनु बिआपत मोह कीचु ॥
Saṯẖ kaṯẖor kulhīn bi▫āpaṯ moh kīcẖ.
I am deceitful, hard-hearted, lowly and entangled in the mud of emotional attachment.

ਮਲ ਭਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਅਹੰ ਮਮਤਾ ਮਰਣੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਏ
मल भरम करम अहं ममता मरणु चीति न आवए ॥
Mal bẖaram karam ahaʼn mamṯā maraṇ cẖīṯ na āv▫e.
I am stuck in the filth of doubt and egotistical actions, and I try not to think of death.

ਬਨਿਤਾ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਇਆ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਲਪਟਾਵਏ
बनिता बिनोद अनंद माइआ अगिआनता लपटावए ॥
Baniṯā binoḏ anand mā▫i▫ā agi▫ānṯā laptāv▫e.
In ignorance, I cling to the pleasures of woman and the joys of Maya.

ਖਿਸੈ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਬਧੈ ਜਰੂਆ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੀਚੁ
खिसै जोबनु बधै जरूआ दिन निहारे संगि मीचु ॥
Kẖisai joban baḏẖai jarū▫ā ḏin nihāre sang mīcẖ.
My youth is wasting away, old age is approaching, and Death, my companion, is counting my days.

ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਰਾਖੁ ਨੀਚੁ ॥੨॥
बिनवंति नानक आस तेरी सरणि साधू राखु नीचु ॥२॥
Binvanṯ Nānak ās ṯerī saraṇ sāḏẖū rākẖ nīcẖ. ||2||
Prays Nanak, my hope is in You, Lord; please preserve me, the lowly one, in the Sanctuary of the Holy. ||2||

ਭਰਮੇ ਜਨਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਸੰਕਟ ਮਹਾ ਜੋਨ
भरमे जनम अनेक संकट महा जोन ॥
Bẖarme janam anek sankat mahā jon.
I have wandered through countless incarnations, suffering terrible pain in these lives.

ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਭਾਰ ਅਗਨਤ ਆਇਓ ਬਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸਹ ਧਾਇਓ
भ्रमत भार अगनत आइओ बहु प्रदेसह धाइओ ॥
Bẖarmaṯ bẖār agnaṯ ā▫i▫o baho parḏesėh ḏẖā▫i▫o.
After wandering around with such great loads of sin, I have come, after wandering through so many foreign lands.

ਲਪਟਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੀਠੇ ਭੋਗ ਸੋਨ
लपटि रहिओ तिह संगि मीठे भोग सोन ॥
Lapat rahi▫o ṯih sang mīṯẖe bẖog son.
I am entangled in sweet pleasures and gold.

ਅਬ ਓਟ ਧਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇਓ
अब ओट धारी प्रभ मुरारी सरब सुख हरि नाइओ ॥
Ab ot ḏẖārī parabẖ murārī sarab sukẖ har nā▫i▫o.
Now, I have taken the protection of God, and I have found total peace in the Name of the Lord.

ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੁਝ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਹੋਆ ਹੋਨ
राखनहारे प्रभ पिआरे मुझ ते कछू न होआ होन ॥
Rākẖanhāre parabẖ pi▫āre mujẖ ṯe kacẖẖū na ho▫ā hon.
God, my Beloved, is my protector; nothing was done, or will ever be done, by myself alone.

ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਨਕ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਤਰੈ ਭਉਨ ॥੩॥
सूख सहज आनंद नानक क्रिपा तेरी तरै भउन ॥३॥
Sūkẖ sahj ānanḏ Nānak kirpā ṯerī ṯarai bẖa▫un. ||3||
I have found peace, poise and bliss, O Nanak; by Your mercy, I swim across the world-ocean. ||3||

ਨਾਮ ਧਾਰੀਕ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਭਗਤਹ ਸੰਸਾ ਕਉਨ
नाम धारीक उधारे भगतह संसा कउन ॥
Nām ḏẖārīk uḏẖāre bẖagṯah sansā ka▫un.
You saved those who only pretended to believe, so what doubts should Your true devotees have?

ਜੇਨ ਕੇਨ ਪਰਕਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ
जेन केन परकारे हरि हरि जसु सुनहु स्रवन ॥
Jen ken parkāre har har jas sunhu sarvan.
By every means possible, listen to the Praises of the Lord with your ears.

ਸੁਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਬਾਨੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਮਨਿ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਪਾਵਹੇ
सुनि स्रवन बानी पुरख गिआनी मनि निधाना पावहे ॥
Sun sarvan bānī purakẖ gi▫ānī man niḏẖānā pāvhe.
Listen with your ears to the Word of the Lord's Bani, the hymns of spiritual wisdom; thus you shall obtain the treasure in your mind.

ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੇ
हरि रंगि राते प्रभ बिधाते राम के गुण गावहे ॥
Har rang rāṯe parabẖ biḏẖāṯe rām ke guṇ gāvhe.
Attuned to the Love of the Lord God, the Architect of Destiny, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਬਸੁਧ ਕਾਗਦ ਬਨਰਾਜ ਕਲਮਾ ਲਿਖਣ ਕਉ ਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਪਵਨ
बसुध कागद बनराज कलमा लिखण कउ जे होइ पवन ॥
Basuḏẖ kāgaḏ banrāj kalmā likẖaṇ ka▫o je ho▫e pavan.
The earth is the paper, the forest is the pen and the wind is the writer,

ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅੰਤੁ ਜਾਇ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਰਣ ਸਰਨ ॥੪॥੫॥੮॥
बेअंत अंतु न जाइ पाइआ गही नानक चरण सरन ॥४॥५॥८॥
Be▫anṯ anṯ na jā▫e pā▫i▫ā gahī Nānak cẖaraṇ saran. ||4||5||8||
but still, the end of the endless Lord cannot be found. O Nanak, I have taken to the Sanctuary of His lotus feet. ||4||5||8||
