ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਅਸਟਪਦੀਆ ਘਰੁ ੨ आसा महला ५ असटपदीआ घरु २ Āsā mėhlā 5 asatpaḏī▫ā gẖar 2 Aasaa, Fifth Mehl, Ashtapadees, Second House: ਪੰਚ ਵਸਾਏ ਪੰਚ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੧॥ पंच वसाए पंच गवाए ॥१॥ Pancẖ vasā▫e pancẖ gavā▫e. ||1|| I enshrined the five within myself, and cast out the other five. ||1|| ਪੰਚ ਮਨਾਏ ਪੰਚ ਰੁਸਾਏ ॥ पंच मनाए पंच रुसाए ॥ Pancẖ manā▫e pancẖ rusā▫e. When the five virtues were reconciled, and the five passions were estranged, ਇਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਗਰੁ ਵੁਠਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ इन्ह बिधि नगरु वुठा मेरे भाई ॥ Inĥ biḏẖ nagar vuṯẖā mere bẖā▫ī. In this way, the village of my body became inhabited, O my Siblings of Destiny. ਦੁਰਤੁ ਗਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ दुरतु गइआ गुरि गिआनु द्रिड़ाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ḏuraṯ ga▫i▫ā gur gi▫ān ḏariṛā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o. Vice departed, and the Guru's spiritual wisdom was implanted within me. ||1||Pause|| ਸਾਚ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਵਾਰਿ ॥ साच धरम की करि दीनी वारि ॥ Sācẖ ḏẖaram kī kar ḏīnī vār. The fence of true Dharmic religion has been built around it. ਫਰਹੇ ਮੁਹਕਮ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੨॥ फरहे मुहकम गुर गिआनु बीचारि ॥२॥ Farhe muhkam gur gi▫ān bīcẖār. ||2|| The spiritual wisdom and reflective meditation of the Guru has become its strong gate. ||2|| ਨਾਮੁ ਖੇਤੀ ਬੀਜਹੁ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ॥ नामु खेती बीजहु भाई मीत ॥ Nām kẖeṯī bījahu bẖā▫ī mīṯ. So plant the seed of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O friends, O Siblings of Destiny. ਸਉਦਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਨੀਤ ॥੩॥ सउदा करहु गुरु सेवहु नीत ॥३॥ Sa▫uḏā karahu gur sevhu nīṯ. ||3|| Deal only in the constant service of the Guru. ||3|| ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਹਾਟ ॥ सांति सहज सुख के सभि हाट ॥ Sāʼnṯ sahj sukẖ ke sabẖ hāt. With intuitive peace and happiness, all the shops are filled. ਸਾਹ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਏਕੈ ਥਾਟ ॥੪॥ साह वापारी एकै थाट ॥४॥ Sāh vāpārī ekai thāt. ||4|| The Banker and the dealers dwell in the same place. ||4|| ਜੇਜੀਆ ਡੰਨੁ ਕੋ ਲਏ ਨ ਜਗਾਤਿ ॥ जेजीआ डंनु को लए न जगाति ॥ Jejī▫ā dann ko la▫e na jagāṯ. There is no tax on non-believers, nor any fines or taxes at death. ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਛਾਪ ॥੫॥ सतिगुरि करि दीनी धुर की छाप ॥५॥ Saṯgur kar ḏīnī ḏẖur kī cẖẖāp. ||5|| The True Guru has set the Seal of the Primal Lord upon these goods. ||5|| ਵਖਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਦਿ ਖੇਪ ਚਲਾਵਹੁ ॥ वखरु नामु लदि खेप चलावहु ॥ vakẖar nām laḏ kẖep cẖalāvahu. So load the merchandise of the Naam, and set sail with your cargo. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਹੁ ਸਿਖ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ॥ सतिगुरु साहु सिख वणजारे ॥ Saṯgur sāhu sikẖ vaṇjāre. The True Guru is the Banker, and His Sikhs are the traders. ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥੭॥ पूंजी नामु लेखा साचु सम्हारे ॥७॥ Pūnjī nām lekẖā sācẖ samĥāre. ||7|| Their merchandise is the Naam, and meditation on the True Lord is their account. ||7|| ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਵਹੁ ॥੬॥ लै लाहा गुरमुखि घरि आवहु ॥६॥ Lai lāhā gurmukẖ gẖar āvhu. ||6|| Earn your profit, as Gurmukh, and you shall return to your own home. ||6|| ਸੋ ਵਸੈ ਇਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸੇਵ ॥ सो वसै इतु घरि जिसु गुरु पूरा सेव ॥ So vasai iṯ gẖar jis gur pūrā sev. One who serves the True Guru dwells in this house. ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨਗਰੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ॥੮॥੧॥ अबिचल नगरी नानक देव ॥८॥१॥ Abicẖal nagrī Nānak ḏev. ||8||1|| O Nanak, the Divine City is eternal. ||8||1||
