ਘੜੀ ਮੁਹਤ ਕਾ ਪਾਹੁਣਾ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ घड़ी मुहत का पाहुणा काज सवारणहारु ॥ Gẖaṛī muhaṯ kā pāhuṇā kāj savāraṇhār. For a brief moment, man is a guest of the Lord; he tries to resolve his affairs. ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ सिरीरागु महला ५ ॥ Sirīrāg mėhlā 5. Siree Raag, Fifth Mehl: ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਮਿ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਸਮਝੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗਾਵਾਰੁ ॥ माइआ कामि विआपिआ समझै नाही गावारु ॥ Mā▫i▫ā kām vi▫āpi▫ā samjẖai nāhī gāvār. Engrossed in Maya and sexual desire, the fool does not understand. ਉਠਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਇਆ ਪਰਿਆ ਵਸਿ ਜੰਦਾਰ ॥੧॥ उठि चलिआ पछुताइआ परिआ वसि जंदार ॥१॥ Uṯẖ cẖali▫ā pacẖẖuṯā▫i▫ā pari▫ā vas janḏār. ||1|| He arises and departs with regret, and falls into the clutches of the Messenger of Death. ||1|| ਅੰਧੇ ਤੂੰ ਬੈਠਾ ਕੰਧੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥ अंधे तूं बैठा कंधी पाहि ॥ Anḏẖe ṯūʼn baiṯẖā kanḏẖī pāhi. You are sitting on the collapsing riverbank-are you blind? ਜੇ ਹੋਵੀ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जे होवी पूरबि लिखिआ ता गुर का बचनु कमाहि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Je hovī pūrab likẖi▫ā ṯā gur kā bacẖan kamāhi. ||1|| rahā▫o. If you are so pre-destined, then act according to the Guru's Teachings. ||1||Pause|| ਹਰੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਹ ਡਡੁਰੀ ਪਕੀ ਵਢਣਹਾਰ ॥ हरी नाही नह डडुरी पकी वढणहार ॥ Harī nāhī nah dadurī pakī vadẖaṇhār. The Reaper does not look upon any as unripe, half-ripe or fully ripe. ਲੈ ਲੈ ਦਾਤ ਪਹੁਤਿਆ ਲਾਵੇ ਕਰਿ ਤਈਆਰੁ ॥ लै लै दात पहुतिआ लावे करि तईआरु ॥ Lai lai ḏāṯ pahuṯi▫ā lāve kar ṯa▫ī▫ār. Picking up and wielding their sickles, the harvesters arrive. ਜਾ ਹੋਆ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਕਿਰਸਾਣ ਦਾ ਤਾ ਲੁਣਿ ਮਿਣਿਆ ਖੇਤਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ जा होआ हुकमु किरसाण दा ता लुणि मिणिआ खेतारु ॥२॥ Jā ho▫ā hukam kirsāṇ ḏā ṯā luṇ miṇi▫ā kẖeṯār. ||2|| When the landlord gives the order, they cut and measure the crop. ||2|| ਪਹਿਲਾ ਪਹਰੁ ਧੰਧੈ ਗਇਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਰਿ ਸੋਇਆ ॥ पहिला पहरु धंधै गइआ दूजै भरि सोइआ ॥ Pahilā pahar ḏẖanḏẖai ga▫i▫ā ḏūjai bẖar so▫i▫ā. The first watch of the night passes away in worthless affairs, and the second passes in deep sleep. ਤੀਜੈ ਝਾਖ ਝਖਾਇਆ ਚਉਥੈ ਭੋਰੁ ਭਇਆ ॥ तीजै झाख झखाइआ चउथै भोरु भइआ ॥ Ŧījai jẖākẖ jẖakẖā▫i▫ā cẖa▫uthai bẖor bẖa▫i▫ā. In the third, they babble nonsense, and when the fourth watch comes, the day of death has arrived. ਕਦ ਹੀ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਜਿਨਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦੀਆ ॥੩॥ कद ही चिति न आइओ जिनि जीउ पिंडु दीआ ॥३॥ Kaḏ hī cẖiṯ na ā▫i▫o jin jī▫o pind ḏī▫ā. ||3|| The thought of the One who bestows body and soul never enters the mind. ||3|| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਕੀਆ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥ साधसंगति कउ वारिआ जीउ कीआ कुरबाणु ॥ Sāḏẖsangaṯ ka▫o vāri▫ā jī▫o kī▫ā kurbāṇ. I am devoted to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; I sacrifice my soul to them. ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਸੋਝੀ ਮਨਿ ਪਈ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ॥ जिस ते सोझी मनि पई मिलिआ पुरखु सुजाणु ॥ Jis ṯe sojẖī man pa▫ī mili▫ā purakẖ sujāṇ. Through them, understanding has entered my mind, and I have met the All-knowing Lord God. ਨਾਨਕ ਡਿਠਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੪॥੭੪॥ नानक डिठा सदा नालि हरि अंतरजामी जाणु ॥४॥४॥७४॥ Nānak diṯẖā saḏā nāl har anṯarjāmī jāṇ. ||4||4||74|| Nanak sees the Lord always with him-the Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||4||74||
