ਜਿਹ ਪੈਡੈ ਲੂਟੀ ਪਨਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ जिह पैडै लूटी पनिहारी ॥ Jih pædæ lootee panihaaree. That highway, upon which the water-carrier is plundered - ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਪੰਚਪਦਾ ॥ आसा महला ५ पंचपदा₁ ॥ Aasaa mėhlaa 5 panchpaḋaa. Aasaa, Fifth Mehl, Panch-Pada: ਸੋ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਦੂਰਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ सो मारगु संतन दूरारी ॥१॥ So maarag sanṫan ḋooraaree. ||1|| that way is far removed from the Saints. ||1|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਾਚੁ ਕਹਿਆ ॥ सतिगुर पूरै साचु कहिआ ॥ Saṫgur pooræ saach kahi▫aa. The True Guru has spoken the Truth. ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਬੀਥੀ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ नाम तेरे की मुकते बीथी जम का मारगु दूरि रहिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Naam ṫéré kee mukṫé beeṫʰee jam kaa maarag ḋoor rahi▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Your Name, O Lord, is the Way to Salvation; the road of the Messenger of Death is far away. ||1||Pause|| ਜਹ ਲਾਲਚ ਜਾਗਾਤੀ ਘਾਟ ॥ जह लालच जागाती घाट ॥ Jah laalach jaagaaṫee gʰaat. That place, where the greedy toll-collector dwells - ਦੂਰਿ ਰਹੀ ਉਹ ਜਨ ਤੇ ਬਾਟ ॥੨॥ दूरि रही उह जन ते बाट ॥२॥ Ḋoor rahee uh jan ṫé baat. ||2|| that path remains far removed from the Lord’s humble servant. ||2|| ਜਹ ਆਵਟੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਘਨ ਸਾਥ ॥ जह आवटे बहुत घन साथ ॥ Jah aavté bahuṫ gʰan saaṫʰ. There, where so very many caravans of men are caught, ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੇ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਾਧ ॥੩॥ पारब्रहम के संगी साध ॥३॥ Paarbarahm ké sangee saaḋʰ. ||3|| the Holy Saints remain with the Supreme Lord. ||3|| ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਸਭ ਲਿਖਤੇ ਲੇਖਾ ॥ चित्र गुपतु सभ लिखते लेखा ॥ Chiṫar gupaṫ sabʰ likʰ▫ṫé lékʰaa. Chitra and Gupat, the recording angels of the conscious and the unconscious, write the accounts of all mortal beings, ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥ कहु नानक जिसु सतिगुरु पूरा ॥ Kaho Naanak jis saṫgur pooraa. Says Nanak, one whose True Guru is Perfect - ਵਾਜੇ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰਾ ॥੫॥੪੦॥੯੧॥ वाजे ता कै अनहद तूरा ॥५॥४०॥९१॥ vaajé ṫaa kæ anhaḋ ṫooraa. ||5||40||91|| the unblown bugles of ecstasy vibrate for him. ||5||40||91|| ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਪੇਖਾ ॥੪॥ भगत जना कउ द्रिसटि न पेखा ॥४॥ Bʰagaṫ janaa ka▫o ḋarisat na pékʰaa. ||4|| but they cannot even see the Lord’s humble devotees. ||4||
