ਸਸੂ ਤੇ ਪਿਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਵਾਖਿ ॥ ससू ते पिरि कीनी वाखि ॥ Sasū ṯe pir kīnī vākẖ. I have been separated from my Beloved by Maya (my mother-in-law). ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ आसा महला ५ ॥ Āsā mėhlā 5. Aasaa, Fifth Mehl: ਘਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਠੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਚੂਕੀ ਕਾਣਿ ॥ घर के जिठेरे की चूकी काणि ॥ Gẖar ke jiṯẖere kī cẖūkī kāṇ. I am no longer swayed by the fear of Death (my elder brother-in-law). ਦੇਰ ਜਿਠਾਣੀ ਮੁਈ ਦੂਖਿ ਸੰਤਾਪਿ ॥ देर जिठाणी मुई दूखि संतापि ॥ Ḏer jiṯẖāṇī mu▫ī ḏūkẖ sanṯāp. Hope and desire (my younger brother-in-law and sister-in-law) are dying of grief. ਸੁਨਹੁ ਲੋਕਾ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ सुनहु लोका मै प्रेम रसु पाइआ ॥ Sunhu lokā mai parem ras pā▫i▫ā. Listen, O people: I have tasted the elixir of love. ਪਿਰਿ ਰਖਿਆ ਕੀਨੀ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣਿ ॥੧॥ पिरि रखिआ कीनी सुघड़ सुजाणि ॥१॥ Pir rakẖi▫ā kīnī sugẖaṛ sujāṇ. ||1|| I am protected by my All-knowing, Wise Husband Lord. ||1|| ਦੁਰਜਨ ਮਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ दुरजन मारे वैरी संघारे सतिगुरि मो कउ हरि नामु दिवाइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ḏurjan māre vairī sangẖāre saṯgur mo ka▫o har nām ḏivā▫i▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o. The evil ones are dead, and my enemies are destroyed. The True Guru has given me the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥ प्रथमे तिआगी हउमै प्रीति ॥ Parathme ṯi▫āgī ha▫umai parīṯ. First, I renounced my egotistical love of myself. ਦੁਤੀਆ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਲੋਗਾ ਰੀਤਿ ॥ दुतीआ तिआगी लोगा रीति ॥ Ḏuṯī▫ā ṯi▫āgī logā rīṯ. Second, I renounced the ways of the world. ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਮੀਤ ਸਮਾਨੇ ॥ त्रै गुण तिआगि दुरजन मीत समाने ॥ Ŧarai guṇ ṯi▫āg ḏurjan mīṯ samāne. Renouncing the three qualities, I look alike upon friend and enemy. ਤੁਰੀਆ ਗੁਣੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਪਛਾਨੇ ॥੨॥ तुरीआ गुणु मिलि साध पछाने ॥२॥ Ŧurī▫ā guṇ mil sāḏẖ pacẖẖāne. ||2|| And then, the fourth state of bliss was revealed to me by the Holy One. ||2|| ਸਹਜ ਗੁਫਾ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣੁ ਬਾਧਿਆ ॥ सहज गुफा महि आसणु बाधिआ ॥ Sahj gufā mėh āsaṇ bāḏẖi▫ā. In the cave of celestial bliss, I have obtained a seat. ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਵਾਜਿਆ ॥ जोति सरूप अनाहदु वाजिआ ॥ Joṯ sarūp anāhaḏ vāji▫ā. The Lord of Light plays the unstruck melody of bliss. ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ महा अनंदु गुर सबदु वीचारि ॥ Mahā anand gur sabaḏ vīcẖār. I am in ecstasy, contemplating the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਤੀ ਧਨ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਰਿ ॥੩॥ प्रिअ सिउ राती धन सोहागणि नारि ॥३॥ Pari▫a si▫o rāṯī ḏẖan sohagaṇ nār. ||3|| Imbued with my Beloved Husband Lord, I am the blessed, happy soul-bride. ||3|| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ जन नानकु बोले ब्रहम बीचारु ॥ Jan Nānak bole barahm bīcẖār. Servant Nanak chants the wisdom of God; ਜੋ ਸੁਣੇ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥ जो सुणे कमावै सु उतरै पारि ॥ Jo suṇe kamāvai so uṯrai pār. one who listens and practices it, is carried across and saved. ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ जनमि न मरै न आवै न जाइ ॥ Janam na marai na āvai na jā▫e. He is not born, and he does not die; he does not come or go. ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਓਹੁ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੨॥ हरि सेती ओहु रहै समाइ ॥४॥२॥ Har seṯī oh rahai samā▫e. ||4||2|| He remains blended with the Lord. ||4||2|| ਜਿਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਵਸੈ ਸੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤਾ ॥ जितु ग्रिहि वसै सो ग्रिहु सोभावंता ॥ Jiṯ garihi vasai so garihu sobẖāvanṯā. The house in which she dwells is such a praiseworthy house. ਰੂਪਿ ਅਨੂਪ ਪੂਰੀ ਆਚਾਰਿ ॥ रूपि अनूप पूरी आचारि ॥ Rūp anūp pūrī ācẖār. Her beauty is incomparable, and her character is perfect.
