ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਰਾਗੁ ਆਸਾ ਘਰੁ ੮ ਕੇ ਕਾਫੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ रागु आसा घरु ८ के काफी महला ४ ॥ Rāg āsā gẖar 8 ke kāfī mėhlā 4. Raag Aasaa, Eighth House, Kaafee, Fourth Mehl: ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਹੋਈਐ ॥੧॥ गुरमुखि नामु धिआइ असथिरु होईऐ ॥१॥ Gurmukẖ nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e asthir ho▫ī▫ai. ||1|| Meditating on the Naam, as Gurmukh, one becomes stable and steady. ||1|| ਆਇਆ ਮਰਣੁ ਧੁਰਾਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਈਐ ॥ आइआ मरणु धुराहु हउमै रोईऐ ॥ Ā▫i▫ā maraṇ ḏẖurāhu ha▫umai ro▫ī▫ai. Death is ordained from the very beginning, and yet ego makes us cry. ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਚਲਣੁ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥ गुर पूरे साबासि चलणु जाणिआ ॥ Gur pūre sābās cẖalaṇ jāṇi▫ā. Blessed is the Perfect Guru, through whom the way of Death is known. ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖੇ ਡੇਹ ਸਿ ਆਏ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ पूरबि लिखे डेह सि आए माइआ ॥ Pūrab likẖe deh sė ā▫e mā▫i▫ā. The days of one's life are pre-ordained; they will come to their end, O mother. ਲਾਹਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁ ਸਾਰੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ लाहा नामु सु सारु सबदि समाणिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Lāhā nām so sār sabaḏ samāṇi▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o. The sublime people earn the profit of the Naam, the Name of the Lord; they are absorbed in the Word of the Shabad. ||1||Pause|| ਚਲਣੁ ਅਜੁ ਕਿ ਕਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ चलणु अजु कि कल्हि धुरहु फुरमाइआ ॥२॥ Cẖalaṇ aj kė kalėh ḏẖarahu furmā▫i▫ā. ||2|| One must depart, today or tomorrow, according to the Lord's Primal Order. ||2|| ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ॥ बिरथा जनमु तिना जिन्ही नामु विसारिआ ॥ Birthā janam ṯinā jinĥī nām visāri▫ā. Useless are the lives of those, who have forgotten the Naam. ਜੂਐ ਖੇਲਣੁ ਜਗਿ ਕਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥ जूऐ खेलणु जगि कि इहु मनु हारिआ ॥३॥ Jū▫ai kẖelaṇ jag kė ih man hāri▫ā. ||3|| They play the game of chance in this world, and lose their mind. ||3|| ਜੀਵਣਿ ਮਰਣਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ जीवणि मरणि सुखु होइ जिन्हा गुरु पाइआ ॥ Jīvaṇ maraṇ sukẖ ho▫e jinĥā gur pā▫i▫ā. Those who have found the Guru are at peace, in life and in death. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੬੪॥ नानक सचे सचि सचि समाइआ ॥४॥१२॥६४॥ Nānak sacẖe sacẖ sacẖ samā▫i▫ā. ||4||12||64|| O Nanak, the true ones are truly absorbed into the True Lord. ||4||12||64||
